“I cannot say enough about this exceptional restaurant. I have been following the chef for some time and finally was able to get a reservation for my anniversary. The location is in the middle of Lincoln Center and was beyond gorgeous to compliment this equally elegant restaurant. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by friendly staff who were immediately attentive and responsive and didn't feel pretentious or stuffy. I started at the bar and enjoyed two cocktails while I waited for my plus 1. The drinks were fantastic. By the way, I am a mixologist who travels to exceptional cocktail bars. This place had drinks that stood out. They were refreshing, while spirited and tasty. The nut cracker was not too boozy, but a delightful game changer like I have never had before (I usually hate this drink made by other establishments). Then, once we were seated, we ordered a medley of dishes from the Hamachi Eschovitch, to the Oxtail and Crab Rangoon and the Egusi Dumplings to start. Everything we ordered was eclectic, unique and truly melted in your mouth. Some items had a bit of a kick, but nothing overwhelming (except for the side sauce provided - beware). Then, for dinner, we enjoyed the Sofrito Roasted Chicken which was perfectly cooked, juicy and had an assortment of flavors and reminders of my childhood (just like grandma made). We also ordered Mom's Shrimp Dish which was another award winning dish. For dessert, we ended the meal with the rum cake. Spectacular! I highly recommend this phenomenal restaurant for a unique and exceptional culinary experience. Kudos to Kwame and wishing you much success.Parking: Parking is expensive. Take the train instead or a taxi. Both more affordable options.“
“This is a great place for seemingly authentic Caribbean cuisine. The atmosphere is great with great natural lighting in the day and a nice lounge atmosphere in the evening. The food is delicious and they have many classics like mofongo and patacón. The biggest problem is the time it takes to receive the food once ordered. Also I'd highly recommend a reservation if dining in.“
“100% SOLD ALL. THE. TIME. This is my go-to spot when I want to have something a little special and the price point fits within my budget. No matter the dish, it always hits the spot and I'm always pleased that I'm paying for a dish that isn't outrageous compared to other restaurants in the area that are serving similar items. I also appreciate the service - everyone is friendly ans offers great suggestions. Specials are always worth visiting again and again. GO!!“
“Just ordered the jerk chicken flat bread which my family loves. FYI, it heats up well in a toaster oven. The staff at the Flatbush Footprints location was excellent. Believe it or not, I never ordered through Uber eats. Without hesitation, Ketnie took my cell phone and placed the pick-up order. She navigated me through the app with ease. Also, she even found a discount on Uber Eats for me. Obviously, management made a great great in hiring Ketnie!“
“Title: Vibrant Flavors and Atmosphere at Kokomo Caribbean RestaurantRating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review:**Food:** At Kokomo Caribbean Restaurant, the culinary journey is a mixed bag. While the oxtail scored a moderate 5 out of 10, the red snapper fish and wings impressed with an 8 out of 10 rating each. The standout was the drink—a fruit punch with Ray and Nephew—which kicked it up to a delightful 9 out of 10.**Ambiance/Vibe:** Kokomo's ambiance is a vibrant blend of old and new Jamaican culture music, earning a perfect 10 out of 10 for its inviting atmosphere.**Service:** The service, while generally good, lacked a bit of warmth in the customer service aspect, resulting in a 6 out of 10 rating.**Atmosphere:** Kokomo offers a cozy atmosphere, perfect for capturing memories with friends and family, earning a solid 7 out of 10.**Overall:** With a vibrant atmosphere and flavorsome dishes, Kokomo Caribbean Restaurant delivers a satisfying experience, earning an overall rating of 4 out of 5.“
“My nonprofit organization had a sports trivia night in their private room on their second floor. It was perfect. Equipment for the DJ already there. A projector with a screen to display the scoreboard. Service was excellent. Food was great. Atmosphere was incredible. Drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend holding events in their private room. I will have more events there.“
“Our waitress Shandell was personable and well suited for customer service. Also, Without saying, the food was very flavorful and tasty. We loved our dishes. Four stars is well suited…. They missed the 5th star because I use eat at Footprints back in the days and now the place is looking a little dated. But, To be fair, it’s still worth the visit.“
“I just went for my early birthday, well me and my friend experience was good. Our server was very nice and accommodating didn’t show no attitude when I asking questions. The food itself was great just a bit too oily for oxtail and the chicken could use a bit of salt but over all was very nice . The atmosphere was definitely a vibe just my personal preference I would definitely would like a bit more table decor. Otherwise 8.5/10 would come again. Wish they had cheesecake again we got 4 things and our total is 112 (including automatic gratuity and tax)“
“Never been a fan of this chain but decided to stop by at this one today and I’m so glad I did! The staff was phenomenal and so helpful with me coming with a special needs kid in a stroller and the food was off the charts good! I’ll definitely be back at this location again ?“
“We went for brunch and got the croquetas, the tortilla cubana, and the huevos rancheros. The tortilla cubana (omelette with chorizo, manchego, and spinach) was great, but the potatoes served on the side were just ok. The huevos rancheros were good as well. The croquetas were very heavily breaded -- I would not order them again. I had the passionfruit mojito, which was good but a bit too sweet for my taste. Service was good!“
“Jasmine's was such a beautiful experience, and the food was great. We are visiting from Florida, and my husband loves Jamaican and Caribbean food. We footed it to this restaurant and was greeted by a friendly waitress who seated us at a high top table. Great ambiance, adult beverages were on point (I ordered the rum punch), and our dishes were delicious. I ordered the Veggie Cook Up, and my husband ordered the Curry Chicken. We are still in town, so I am trying to see how we can return before we leave! Thanks so much!Vegetarian options: Clearly Indicated on their menu“
“Patrick’s Place is a nice little date night spot. It’s super small so it can feel cramped BUT the entertainment and service completely make up for the limited space. It definitely more of an intimate setting. I didn’t have the pleasure of trying the food but the drinks were great. The rum punch was authentic and you could taste the Wray and nephew, need I say more? The Jazz players and singer were really good. I would definitely come back and try the food next time. Parking is a little difficult as it’s Harlem and on the main road so just keep that in mind. There is also a $20 pp minimum“
“Last night I tried food from Sally's for the first time and it was pretty good. We got take out and the service was really nice.I had the curry chicken which I was hoping to be cooked in a more Caribbean way, but it was still nice, spicy and the chicken portion was very decent which I was pleasantly surprised by. I had a taste of my friend's jerk fish and it was so good, sweet and spicy, but I wouldn't call it jerk. She also let me try the crab Rangoon dumplings and they were my favorite! I wish I had them hot and with the sauce provided, but they were still great.I got the matcha rum cake and there wasn't a hint of rum. I was really disappointed by this, and the size was also pretty shocking and small. At least if there was any taste of rum I would've said ok, the price is for the rum and not the size. But I felt cheated. The cake which was like a mini bundt cake was sweet and good just not for $12.The Caribbean and Asian flare wasn't really pulled off very well for me. It would've been nice if the cultures were better represented and fused in the food, but for me the food across the board leans more Asian inspired like maybe Thai. The food was fine just not what it claimed to be.“
“Bring cash to enjoy this amazing spot.Must try the currant roll. Currant rolls are available after 3PM.If you like coconut, you'll LOVE the coconut roll. It is flaky and came warm.If you like the texture of mochi, and you like almond extract, try the cassava pone. There if usually a line out the door so check before walking in.Line moves quickly and service is very kind.“
“My Husband and I make an attempt to come here for dinner prior to whenever we go to the Lincoln Center! We love it so much we've found ourselves returning just to introduce other friends to this place. The food is fantastic, ambience is beautiful, fun, and lively, and service is attentive but relaxed. It beats out some of the top restaurants in flatiron and west village for us.“
“Lips is a great community spot. I love their ginger sorrel lemonade it is amazing! Also love the paninis and breakfast items like the avocado toast. Vibes are amazing, great playlists, it’s black-owned, and they always have really beautiful and unique art collections on display. It feels like a very artsy spot with lots of books on display and the variety of seats are really cozy.“
“My goto place for the best roasted chicken in the area. Their motto - El Rey Del Pollo - King of the Roast Chicken. Also tried their other dishes today like the sautéed pork chops and the grouper fish fillet sautéed, with side dishes of red black beans, maduros, steamed vegetables, and yellow rice. All were generous and delicious. Also ordered their Malecon cocktail, diet soda, and finished off with an authentic Tres Leches dessert. We were so full and we still had lots of food to take home. We actually over-ordered. Service was very friendly, attentive, and efficient. Ambiance is cozy and contemporary. The place was packed on a Sunday lunch, very popular.Parking: Predominantly street parking, free on certain times and days. Paid parking garage nearby.“
“*AMAZING* WOW! My experience here at Harry’s Daughter was one to remember. From the ambience to the attentiveness of our waiter Gregory, I wouldn’t have asked for a better night. Gregory was not just a waiter, he became such a great host for our table! The food!!!! Oh my goodness! The Jerk Salmon was cooked to perfection and don’t get me started on the Jerk Egg Rolls! Clearly I’m a fan and will return!!! You HAVE to visit Harry’s Daughter!!!“
“The food was phenomenally bonkers!, it had the home style cooking and flavor bursts you would want from a delicious brunch. The jerk chicken was flavor filled with all types of delicious spices, char grilled, and succulent with every bite. The team and wonderful service from “Demmoy” and a few others I was enjoying my food too much I forgot to get everyone’s name, provided such a welcoming experience and energy, fantastic vibes. I can’t say enough kind words about this place. I plan to return often for the jerk chicken and waffles. The waffle had crispy crust & savory tastes, the maple syrup was delivered heated, such a fantastic touch!. My partner had the eggs biscuits and grits, holy smokes that had a fantastic flavor as well, i ate half of her food (after she was done), ?Highly recommend. ??“
“Damoy was such a great host and server. His timing were correct to seat us without reservations. Very attentive and accommodating.Max and cheese was not a vibe to my taste, certain seasoning made it off. Salmon was not seasoned in the Rasta Pasta. I would prefer my Rasta pasta recipe.Dietary restrictions: Accommodating.“
“Great experience, the lady at the counter gave us samples of the pineapple ginger juice which was so good we ended up getting, she also recommended we get the beef patties w the coco bread and wow she was not playin no games. 10/10 hit every spot, will for sure be back.“
“Fun restaurants rarely have good food anymore - but my goodness. A blast of a night with rounds of jerk chicken. The cod fritters were delicious, the rum punch kept me going all night. I'm not an avid fan of mac and cheese but I could eat this one every day, enjoying it more and more each time. Loved the music, too.“
“Amazing! They were out of the jerk chicken empanadas when I ordered online late in the day, so the super nice owner gave me two salmon ones after calling to inform me and asking about substitutes. I got the sweet chili hot wings and they were so good! Made to order and super fresh and flavorful. The mac and cheese was also great.“
“I find myself loving this place more and more, not only is the food great but the owners are AMAZING!!! It’s black owned, and the love they put in their food just keeps me coming back everytime I’ve had to come to Harlem. The fried foods are made fresh to order which is what you would hope for, and everything else is on point. Exactly what I be hoping for when I crave soul food. Must try!!“
“Kingston Bakery has been my spot for beef patties since they’ve opened and I’m never disappointed. It wasn’t until I tried the actual entrees that I was completely hooked. The oxtails are so good and the stewed chicken is absolutely bussin!! If you haven’t stopped by now I’d the time and the portions are great too.“
“If you are looking for delicious food, great staff and service and a cool vibe? Then Bamboo Walk is thee spot!We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. We were a party of 3 for brunch. Reservations are recommended. Everything about this spot was nice. The ambiance, the staff, the food, the music, everything!!! I read some reviews before booking and the Rum Punch was recommended. The reviews didn't lie. That Rum punch was hittin!!!Our host Jackson was so helpful. He had such a great sense of humor that we simply had to match. He was an absolute great host. He made sure our table was clean and cleared out when necessary. The food arrived hot and tasteful and might I add, not a long wait. When we were done, Jackson got us what we needed to take our food to go.The ambiance had a slight intimate setting but it is good for groups as well. There is a parking lot but spaces are limited. Street parking is available. Bamboo Walk was perfect. It didn't disappoint at all. I will be back for sure.“
“JULIA is an amazing and informative staff member. From greeting my party of 4, seating us, making food/drink recommendations, and even allowing us to see the “basement”, we couldn’t have asked for better service. Codfish fritters, curry crab tostones, ackee n Salish tostones, crab n salmon balls, all great starters. We had curry goat, salmon, and oxtail. All portions were plentiful and full of flavor. MAKE SURE you try the house made pepper sauce if you like extra spice in your food. A lot of rum based drinks but more than enough options outside of rum. And it’s not a meal if you don’t finish it off with the bread pudding, shame on you! Good music, good energy, great ambiance in a chill spot in park slope. Go hungry and leave full!“
“Came to Palo Santo for a boozy brunchwith friends over the weekend. The food was OK- not my favorite brunch spot but the steak with eggs was pretty good although I did not like the chimuchurri. Some of the food was a bir spicy. Gave it a 5 ⭐️ because of the good service and atmosphere. The ambiance is nice and the neighborhood is also very pretty for s walk after food. The waiter was very kind and changed our food after they got the order wrong and gave us a round of drinks even though we were close to the time limit. Might not come again because I thought it was slightly expensive!“
“First coming here date night with my boy friend and actually I am having dinner right now everything is so good ! I ordered the salt fish fritters oh my god !!!! Small black own business I really really enjoyed the vibe the food the drinks - drank one drink spicy mango margarita and I’m lit !!! Please come support them you won’t disappoint they takeThere time making food but it’s worth it !!“
“Fantastic food with very great price. I was so impressed by the oxtail I had. It was so big volume with absolutely great stewed oxtail. my girlfriend usually can not eat too much, but she finished her super full box of food. People in the store was sooo sweet, give us so many instructions for food with smiling. Hope everyone can come to try this fantastic Jamaican food“
“Great Culinary experience my friends and I stopped by randomly because we were in the area. To be honest we were pleasantly surprised the drinks were tasty and sturdy shoutout to Owen the bartender. The food came out in great time and was tasty. I would recommend the honey garlic wings, Doubles and curry snapper. But what made our visit Great was that the Chef / owner Calvin came out and had a conversation with us and made us feel at home.10 out of 10“
“All the foods are very delicious. They can brush up on the curry chicken and shrimp because I feel like the amount u get with the dinner should be a little more. Other than that everything else is top notch. Best place to get Caribbean food in Brooklyn!“
“I haven’t had better soul food in all of NYC. It took me a while of living nearby before going in to try it out, because the front isn’t overly flashy. But the owner pulled me over to say hi one time, and the rest is history. You can tell that the staff is like family; not in the toxic way, but in a way where everyone who comes in leaves feeling like a neighbor. I love their rotation of local black/women art, not to mention their schedule for incredible live music. This restaurant has played a huge role in making me feel at home in Brooklyn over the last 5 years, and I know I’m one of many people who feel the same. You can’t go wrong on their menu, so if a great restaurant atmosphere isn’t for you, at least try the food. You won’t regret it.“
“My mouth is watering right now, thinking about the food I ate for the first time yesterday from this establishment. Fresh, tasty, spicy, yummy, delicious food. I can go on about how good this food was. I had the fish sandwich, my husband had the pork and chicken, and I also had the passion juice and soup. Everything tastes so good. I can't wait to go back. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the food was freshly prepared when ordered. 5star“
“I had the best stew peas I have ever had in my life! I have to go back and get my mom some.I had the pepper shrimp, it was extremely hot and flavorful. I had to immediately pull out my asthma pump. My chest was already tight, but as soon as I tasted the shrimp my chest closed up. I thought I was going to have to call the ambulance. It was scary!!!I will not put this on the restaurant. I have been eating seafood for 50 years and think I have recently developed a seafood allergy.“
“Needed sweet treats for a staff holiday get together. Decided to take a cultural approach and showed up at this bakery about after 7pm. It was closed despite their google listing saying that they’re open until 9:30pm. I called and explained what I needed and was let in. They’d already packed away most of their offerings but I was able to get some coconut rolls/tarts, rock cakes, and some peanut and coconut treats. The gentleman was very patient and attentive…I wasn’t rushed at all despite the bakery being closed. Great quality customer service. The staff enjoyed the treats. I’ll return some other stuff. Highly recommended Caribbean bakery.“
“Patties are always fresh and hot. The delicious ox tail, and jerk chicken platters are big portions. The Chicken and Dumpling soup is amazing. Large variety of Breads to take home, and the hot sauce they serve will bring a tear to your eye.I went in for something simple, vegetarian. The cabbage with jerk sauce side was enough for a meal. 10 out of 10 try, you won’t be disappointed.Vegetarian options: Veggie and Vegan Patties, All the sides are vegetarian.“
“I got the jerk chicken empanada and a breakfast bagel with hash browns, egg and cheese. Everything was solid - they did not skimp on the quantity and the flavors were amazing. Definitely ordering again and looking forward to trying their sandwiches!“
“Came with my daughter and was treated to a Cod bowl and roast chicken. There were plenty of portions and the food was delicious! I really want to point out that the beautiful lady taking our order was kind, engaging, extremely competent and courteous. Really great atmosphere.“
“If you’re looking for the Elixir of the Gods, look no further. Balboa’s red or white sangria is among the best, if not the greatest I’ve experienced in my varied travels. And their macaroni & cheese is to die for. Sincere, friendly service from Sarah & Marisa completes it. Off the beaten path but well worth it!“
“I have eaten at this establishment twice this week. I came during the week day and returned on a Saturday. Service was the same, AMAZING. The owner was welcoming treated me like he knew me. This will definitely be a date night spot for my husband and I. Ohhhh don't get to full on the appetizers because the entrees are amazing as well. Shout out to the bartender ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“Despite a slight hiccup, the owner, management and staff were attentive and swiftly resolved the matter, going above and beyond to ensure our accommodation. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the staff was personable. Thank you for a wonderful brunch experience! Absolutely recommend!“
“My go-to spot for a jerk chicken patty! Authentic flavor but it is not spicy. It costs around $3 but it is packed with flavor and meat so you get your money's worth. It is better to go earlier because they do sell out of some of the patties like the jerk chicken and veggie. I went around 11:50am on a Monday and there was no line. This place typically has a line so if you are looking for a good time to go, I suggest Monday during the early afternoon. I will definitely be back because I am always curious about the food. They have roti and other traditional Caribbean dishes like oxtails and stew chicken.Vegetarian options: Veggie Patties“
“Well my first review was based on that day’s food …so I went back and purchased a chicken sandwich which was delicious and was asked to give them and try on The Oxtail Grill Cheese Sandwich and I watched the Young Chef make the dish right before my eyes and the end result was superb… Made me eat my words and they were “
“Went for a birthday celebration. I ordered the stew peas(vegetarian), my co-diners ordered fish, oxtail and chicken and everyone was satisfied. Bill for 6 came up to 450$. Portions can be a bit on the small side if you're a big eater. Drinks from the bar were good. Overall 4 star solid place.“
“Absolutely amazing place ! We meant to quickly a stop there for one cocktail but the atmosphere, the staff (K!) and the quality of the drinks were so amazing that we ended up expending hours and hours in there!! The drinks are FANTASTIC, and the the vibe going on with the regulars is just so warm and welcoming … absolutely loved this place ! We were very glad we cancelled all our plans to just enjoy being in this place … absolutely AMAZING!!“
“It’s always the authentic eateries that strike a chord with me! Absolutely INCREDIBLE goat curry with buss up shut (roti) the goat was so tender and falling off the bone, the curry sauce was absolute perfection and great for dipping the roti in. The pumpkin and potato came separately to the curry which I think is genius to not mix up the flavours. The roti was cooked and torn up to perfection. Really authentic and you could tell the chef has made this for years and perfected the recipe.I will be thinking about this dish for days to come.lady who served me was an absolute angel as well, had a million things to do at once and all by herself but was attentive with great customer service skills, place was clean, good atmosphere and vibe with music playing and a bar in the middle with decent seating options for diners. 10/10 will be back“
“Pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere in this location, definitely spacious as it was a random stop for us to check out.We were seated right away and just took a lil time to order as my sister was debating what she wanted. Once it started getting more packed, service did become a bit slower as we were ready to order.I loved my meal and drink, it does have a kick to it. The tempura Fish cakes reminds of bacalaitos, just a bit different with tempura. Would def try the other menu items here.“
“Returned for take out and even better than I remembered. Moist jerk chicken with wonderful 'hotter' sauce. Good portion with rice and beans and steamed veggie. I must return to try the curried goat etc. (There are some tables but I suspect most of the biz is take out).“
“We tried the pabellón criollos (traditional Venezuelan breakfast) and pan con bistec guaro (Venezuelan steak sandwich), as well as the agua fresca de flor de Jamaica (Costa Rican sorrel wine, non alcoholic). Great dishes with a warm brunch ambiance.“
