“Incredible coffee. Pour over is super smooth and best I've ever had. Staff experienced with all things coffee and use specific equipment and timers to make sure the coffee comes out with the best flavor. Not usually one for the finesse of coffee making but the outcome will definitely have me coming back again.“
“A gem in the neighbourhood. A friend and I were visiting Jersey City from South Africa and NDP was just down the road from our B&B. We had the most wonderful dinner there, with James, the owner explaining how he and his wife started the little restaurant. The food was exceptional and we were able to order a bottle of wine from a winery close by, which was delivered in minutes. Absolutely worth a visit!“
“Ko Cafe is an absolute gem in our neighborhood! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warmth and the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee. As a black-owned establishment, it's wonderful to see Isreal and his team infuse such vibrancy into our community. The ambiance is cozy and the coffee is top-notch. Highly recommend supporting this fantastic cafe!“
“I live in the area and attend college out of town so getting to the library on my off days is tough. I've been looking for a place with a chill ambiance, wifi, good tea, and coffee. Well, look no more for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Great rustic look, comfy seating with back support, loads of outlets for laptops, and the second-floor space are super cute and cozy too. Oh and there's a small little outside area that's pretty cool as well. Shaquille (hope I spelled it right) was AMAZING! So down-to-earth, friendly, polite, and easy to talk to. She made me the Tumeric latte for me and I all but licked the cup clean. I had the hummus & cucumber on sourdough toast and it was divine. Also, a great option for vegans. I totally recommend this place if you have similar needs or just want to hang out with some friends. I will surely be going back.“
“Isabella and Alfredo created a very unique establishment where its patrons will feel the vibe of visiting a friend's house for dinner rather than a restaurant. The ambiance is very eclectic, cozy and welcoming. You can tell the decor was hand picked by the owners and each individual piece tells a story, including the name which the owners were kind enough to share with us. Isabella's menu delivers Hungariarian flavor with a touch of Balkan spin, creating a rare feast for your tastebuds. The dishes are mouth watering, well cooked and flavorful. Many thanks to my fellow fine watch connoisseur, who's name I cant remember, my appologies. We really enjoyed our time there, the food and the friendliness of the owners are second to none!“
“Very nice people with very good vegan.food. We got there vegan version of a Philly Cheesesteak and a Blt and being from philly this could be blasphemous but it was very tasty and much better then some steak sandwiches i had in philly. We both enjoyed them very much and they give you a side Mac and cheese or potatoes salad and kale with a really tasty vinagarette. Very enjoyable dinner. Just no there is no dining inside so we took it to go.“
“I love it here. They space is very inviting. Colorful art, cozy pillows and an open layout with warm lighting make it a nice, relaxing space to people watch or work remotely. The owners have also created a space for the youngest customers where they can feel most comfortable. The staff is very kind.“
“Super cute establishment. Just very small and cozy. The staff were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The food is so flavorful and fresh, absolutely delicious. We had the tomato soup with grilled cheese on fresh bread. The French toast and eggs with home fries and bacon. Everything was fab. Can’t wait to return“
“I loved the casual atmosphere and friendly service. On recommendation from the staff I ordered the Chicken Little and it was delicious. Ten out of ten recommend it.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an outside seating area where customers with mobility issues can sit but this is only feasible under good weather.“
“I stopped in to Box Cafe for a quick bite to eat in between meetings and was floored by everything. The food was delicious and extremely fresh and the place is just so chill and inviting. the owners are amazing too. Looking forward trying it for dinner with BYOB.“
“This is a nice quaint neighborhood gem to grab some early or midday small meal,That me and my partner have fallen in loved with. We came here to try it out one day and have not been disappointed every time we have stopped by. The prices can add up for breakfast and drinks but worth stopping by. The service is always friendly and many people stop by to enjoy or to go. There is some seating inside and they provide outdoor seating as well. We love the dulce de Leche and I liked the Arnold Palmer so far and we finally tried a breakfast sanwhich and it was very fulfilling. Me and my partner definitely recommend!“
“If you want to eat excellent, fresh food made with love and served with a massive side of fantastic service, you must come here. I have fallen in love with this cute, quiet spot. Parking is in the area, but most importantly, there is a great atmosphere.“
“I've lived in Downtown Jersey City for 10yrs, and have seen Chris reinvent this place a couple of times. Now as a father - son team with a perfectly short menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, coffee and juice/smoothies, Chris continues to bring that eclectic neighborhood feel that fits perfectly with the DTJC vibe. Stopping by for one of his scrumptious egg sandwiches (I prefer sausage egg & cheese) and seeing their familiar, friendly faces is a great way to start the day. Keep Legal Grounds above ground! ✌️“
“The food here is great my favorite dish by far has to be the curry guidon beef rice set. It’s to die for by far my favorite Chinese restaurants. The customer service is vary friendly n kind. The atmosphere is vary relaxed n has a nice vibe. Great over all experience!!!“
“Semicolon Cafe is a great place to visit for a quick meal and sweet drink. The sandwich I got was very light and refreshing. I also really enjoyed my drink, which was a specialty strawberry matcha that came with popcorn on top. They also gave me an edible straw, which was strawberry flavored and actually not bad! Overall the vibes of the cafe are also very nice. The upstairs was closed when I visited so there wasn't a ton of space, however, I really like how open it is and how much natural light it gets.“
“Cannot say more positive things about Cafe Lafayette! We got the spicy chicken sandwich and chicken & waffles — both were full of flavor and all the right crunchy textures. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the hospitality is top notch. We showed up with our toddler and dog (not a service animal), and the staff were SO KIND AND HELPFUL in offering and then setting up a table for us to eat outside, even though no other tables were outside. The cherry on top was that they brought out a pup cup for our old and blind pit bull, which made his morning too. <3 This is the kind of neighborhood gem we love to support — and even though we aren’t exactly in the neighborhood, we plan on being back soon and trying everything else on the menu.“
“We love going to Subia’s! We’ve been here a few times and it’ll probably be one of our weekend brunch go-to spots. Subia’s is definitely the best vegan brunch spot in New Jersey! The food is so delicious!! I love the triple decker sandwich and the blt with cheese sandwich. The breakfast wrap is also so flavourful. The staff are so friendly and nice, which makes for a great experience all around.I’m excited to try other menu items! They have a lot on their menu, more than I expected for a cafe, but everything we’ve tried so far has been great.Vegetarian options: Menu is all veganDietary restrictions: Gluten-free options“
“Right off the beaten path of Central Ave is Galeria. They have two little tables outside when it's nice, and inside is a cute homey and clean spot with plenty of seats. Their coffees are great and empanadas are awesome for a quick grab. Also good for chicken sandwiches and breakfast platters! Owners are very sweet. They deserve your business instead of Dunkin. Prices for lattes are better and doesn't taste like a syrupy mess. Go here!“
“Totally blown away! The food was awesome. They way they prepared everything, the pricing. I will be signing up for their meal prep too based on this amazing meal. The chickpea sandwich was delicious. The BBQ chickn sandwich was so delicious. Have to say one of the most satisfying meals I have had in a while. My son loved the PB&J.Almost forgot. The sides were really good too. Get the pasta salad. So yum.“
“Dames is my favorite café in all of downtown JC. The butterscotch latte and their famous banana bread are my staples there and their outdoor patio always provides a relaxing atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and I even enjoy their signature leaf designs on the creamy lattes!“
“The broccoli and feta flambee was delicious! Great flavor, creamy from the feta, and a crunchy/flaky crust. The overall ordering and waiting for food was longer than it should be, but perhaps not unexpected for a recently opened cafe. Hoping they'll keep improving!“
“I had a doctor's appointment nearby and I needed breakfast. I saw Dream Vista and decided to try them out for the 1st time. I had the Poached Egg Avocado Toast which was absolutely delicious. It had roasted red peppers and pumpkin seeds on top. It was very tasty. I also had a green tea and Tahini Walnut Cookies. The cookies was very soft and melted in my mouth. Also the customer service was very pleasant. Overall Dream Vista is a warm and cozy cafe and the food is delicious here.“
“Okafe continues to have the best baristas in Jcity. Service is always friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed. Sometimes the tables could be a little better maintained and get easily grimey and dirty from customer use.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options Ovo-veg options“
“I've been looking for gluten free & nut free options west of Jersey Avenue, and Gussy's did their homework! I had a delicious gluten free breakfast sandwich, and their gluten free bread is fluffy and fresh (not frozen!). I came back for a breakfast wrap and was offered their chickpea (gf) wrap - which was just perfect! Their staff is super helpful and open to feedback, and the dine-in vibes are worth staying for!“
“Cute little neighborhood cafe. I had the Oatmeal and it was perfectly prepared. My hot matcha latte was foamy and they put a good amount of matcha. Thank you for not being stingy on the matcha :-). It's more expensive than coffee so I have a higher expectation. They offer WiFi so I was able to work for an hour and enjoy the day out.“
“Hit up this cafe below a new luxury complex and right off the West Side light rail station!Pros:•Great vibes•Cool decor•Great atmosphere•Staff was very attentive and niceCons:Still not sure if the parking lot across the street is for the public or for the light rail users“
“This restaurant is very welcoming not to mention overall delicious. The customer service is extremely friendly with bilingual staff for English speakers, dine in with a tv and a beautiful cultural environment. The food is always speedily prepared and top notch Mexican cuisine. I love this place, I love the workers and how friendly they are, I love the food. 10/10Kid-friendliness: High chairs provided and they are so sweet to my daughter she smiles every time she sees the owner :)“
“Monday-Friday between 1130-1pm there will be tons of children but only because the kids prefer his food over the schools or their own food. He’s very popular around that time so it’s best to place an order online or just wait before or after those times. I have been coming here for 5+ years. It’s my favorite local breakfast spot. Mr B is always happy to adjust or make accommodations. It feels like family. Thank you ? for feeding me my family and all the kids from the high school.“
“Really chill spot - stopped by here on a Saturday morning to grab a chai and a zaatar bagel and happy to report that it was delicious. The bagel was presented so well and tasted even better. This spot is very calm, relaxed and clean - it is in a residential building so I enjoyed the energy in the lobby. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a chill weekend morning coffee.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from.“
“Small little hole in the wall place that has great breakfast and even greater coffee. Serving sizes are large and plenty of variety for the picky eaters. The breads and croissants are so fresh, puffy and toasty at the same time. It's open very early in the morning and lot's of locals come in to grab a coffee and bite to go, when you see it crowded so early in the morning you know it's a good place to eat.“
“Family friendly place with amazing Moroccan mint tea, they put fresh mint leaves in it so it smells and tastes heavenly. A great place to step out of the cold and enjoy a bite to eat.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, I saw families getting together at this place and I felt like I was in someone's home. It is a little tight on the dining space for larger groups.“
“The ambiance is excellent, providing a very homey atmosphere. The staff was swift with providing service. The breakfast burrito was divine. Although there's no meat in it, I was more than satisfied with the ingredients included. The fruit on the side was fresh and delicious, as the coffee.“
“Our new go to cafe! Spot on flat whites (hard to nail in this country), and good homey food. Had the egg on brioche sanny and my partner had the lox bagel. Will definitely come back, again and again :)Ps - there are a few tables inside but more outside which was nice today, we just sat outside.“
“My son wanted to share his favorite coffee shop with me! Loved my latte! Flavorful and nice and hot! You can purchase coffee beans to go! There’s a series of coffees with fruit maceration! Like coconut or passion fruit! You get a fruity taste with your coffee! Hot and cold coffee drinks available. You can purchase on site or on line. Liked the decor! Friendly Staff! Caffeine & Dreams!! Looking forward to returning!“
“Easily the best matcha in the area. Their Sober Matcha has the best foam and matcha quality, no other places come close. The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is stellar. Love this place so so much! Lots of fun drinks to try if you want to switch it up from your regular cafes. Always worth a trip here.“

“First time here and definitely not the last. The food here is sooooo good. If you're new to the vegan lifestyle and you live in Jersey City this place is a must. My wife and I enjoyed every bite. I had the cheeseburger and fries made with all vegan ingredients and she had the churrizo tacos. All I have to say is it's damn good. So put this on your to do list of eateries.Prices are very reasonable for vegan eatsand the staff is very courteous and kind.ENJOY!“
“The place is unique. Refreshing to the eyes. Staff are friendly and has absolute knowledge of the products. The coffee selection is wide and taste great and everything that comes with it. It is a must to go to place to hangout with friends, meetings and dates.“
“The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because one of the staff that works here- I absolutely love their smoothies but this girl doesn’t greet the costumer, has zero costumer service energy, she just looks like she hates her life… It’s honestly a bummer and it instantly kills the vibe. Great smoothies, not great costumer service when is this girl’s shift :/“
“So this is the first time ever that I've come to the liberty science center and I don't know how it has taken me 36 years to do so. Learning is so much fun when it's interactive and if you don't believe me ask any child there. I went on a weekday for like 45 dollars and along with exploring the whole place we also got to see a show in the planetarium that talked about living on other worlds. The entire experience was mind blowing and you learn so much. From live animals to electricity to hanging off the side of a building its all there. I think my favorite part was the show in the planetarium though. I think it's the biggest on the east coast. Even though some of the attractions were closed we still had an amazing time. I'll definitely be back . Oh and they do have a food court if you get hungry“
“This is place is visited by my roommates and I on a weekly basis. Prices are quite affordable and they have an amazing selection of hookah and appetizers/sandwiches. I will say their dessert selection is not too great and there is poor ventilation on the weekends when it tends to get crowded. Otherwise, this place is a great place to enjoy some apps and relax over some shisha. The Rose Paan and Blue Mist hookah are my personal favorites.“
“Whealth is one of my FAVORITE local spots! I've brought out of towners here, come with my kid often for breakfast/lunch/coffee, and have also enjoyed working here solo. Great breakfast and brunch items, sandwiches, eggs, salads - very flexible and understanding for gluten free and vegan. Baked goods incredible (eating their vegan GF coconut chocolate scone right now!) Incredibly friendly staff. The owner is frequently in there, and will remember you and your kids. Local gem!“
“In the wind swept streets of Jersey City there exists a small brick born eatery where fresh squeezed orange juice flows, the sausage patties are savory, and the croissants are flaky and fresh. The ambrosia delivered up by the nymphs who run this Olympus is heavenly indeed. So take a moment from your monotonous drive or your daily drudgery and stop by and take a seat atop this charming rest stop of life.Hold hands with your partner. Drink in the infectious grooves playing. Breathe deep, and long, and full your body with a truly godly meal.“
