“My friend and I wound up at Don Alex's on Saturday evening after the restaurant we originally wanted to go to did not have any openings. What a true stroke of luck! Don Alex is a wonderful restaurant right off route 22 with delicious food! I had an order of Maduros to start and loved every second of them. Also, the tortilla chips came with salsa Verde peruana, which was also amazing. For dinner, I had lomo saltado, which is a dish of either chicken or beef with french fries, white rice, and peppers and onions. I have not had it in a while, but this dish hit the spot. I was a little shocked at how empty the restaurant was, considering how good the food was, but they also had a takeout side, which seem to have a lot of customers. If you are in the Kenilworth area, this is definitely worth a trip.“

“This place blew me away. A very small restaurant. I made sure to make a reservation. The staff were very attentive and polite. They offer water for the table. We brought a bottle of wine with us that they opened and set in ice to chill. We also ordered a pitcher of Passion Fruit Juice for the table. We ordered the classic ceviche and the charcoal grilled pulpo. That ceviche. It surprised us all. So flavorful. The octopus was a tad chewy and the edamame cream was okay. Nothing to rave about on that dish.My friend ordered a pasta saltado dish that was on the specials board. Those potatoes had so much flavor. I kept picking at her plate.I ordered the Tagliatelle al Pesto with Churrasco. Chefs kiss. Everything was packed with flavor. My skirt steak was cooked perfectly.I will be back. I need to explore more on this menu.“

“As a Dominican, I wholeheartedly approve this place - 100%! When I first visited, all I could think of was, 'Oh God, I hope this place never closes!' It's become my go-to spot for Saturday breakfast, and for good reason. The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and authentic. The mangú is a perfect representation of plátano power, and the ceviche is simply divine! I'm so glad I found this gem, and I look forward to returning for a fantastic breakfast/brunch experience.Parking: Paid $10 dollars for parking at the Chase Bank parking lot location right next to the restaurant“

“small ramen with big flavors. I enjoyed everything from the chill atmosphere to amazing food. the blend of Peruvian cuisine with traditional Japanese dishes is a match made in foodie heaven. I had the double fried wings and sloppy joe bao bun for a starter and each dish was better than the last. the wings were super crispy yet tender inside and the sloppy joe bao buns were a trip down memory lane. the sloppy brought me back to my childhood eating at a friend's house. for my ramen I had the tonkatu. their pork broth was hearty and tasteful and reminded me of my first bowl of real ramen. I highly recommend going there and finding out on your own...“

“The food is amazing! Fresh and delicious. We are very impressed by the quality of food at a small restaurant like this. We love the spaghetti with string beef, seafood platter, and mussel ceviche. Everything is beyond our expectation. Quality food, good portion, and very reasonable pricing. Probably not a romantic atmosphere but definitely good for family and casual dining. We will be ordering many times on DoorDash in the future“

“This is a complete taste of authentic Peruvian food! All my experiences here have been with takeout. Calling to place an order is always prompt and accurate. Pick up isn't ever more than 20 minutes for food to be ready. The weekends seem to be the busiest as tables are filled with customers. Walking in on the weekends, you'll be walking into classic Peruvian music and/or modern Spanish music. The llama upon entrance is a nice touch to its culture and opportunity for a nice photo. Most importantly, thumbs up to the fresh seafood used for their ceviche mixto. Don't forget to add the papa ha la huancaina as a side dish. Overall, I find the prices here fair for the quality and quantity of what they serve.“

“The food is very good, the service is also very good because I thank the lady from Moños for being patient with me since I was a new customer and she very patiently attended to me and advised me on some dishes that I undoubtedly loved as well as me and everyone else. @ my family, I thank you very much for the attention of the ladies who are at the cash register, without a doubt it is a place where I would return for their service and attention“

“Last night, I had the pleasure of trying Carne Asada for the first time, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The meat was perfectly seasoned, offering a harmonious blend of spices that tantalized my taste buds with every bite. The steak was grilled to absolute perfection, boasting a succulent, tender texture that melted in my mouth. The sides complemented the main dish beautifully, enhancing the flavors without overpowering them. Every component of the meal was prepared with meticulous care, clearly highlighting the chef's dedication to quality and flavor. The ambiance of the restaurant and the staff's attentive service only added to the overall exceptional dining experience. It was a meal to remember, and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're a fan of flavorful, well-cooked meat, this Carne Asada is a must-try. A resounding five stars!“

“There are many Peruvian restaurants but Julia’s Cafe is one of my newest favorite Peruvian food in town. The food is definitely authentically made by a Peruvian cook that understands the passion of culinary through Peruvian cuisine. Even down to sauces and spices you can taste some authenticity. We often get catering when we have a get-together or a birthday and they often times accept despite not having delivery drivers sometimes. I’m grateful for the owner and his service and for food. Everyone should give them a try and have a taste for themselves. ??“

“A friend and I stopped by after driving for hours looking at apartments. We were just hungry and desperate for good food. Divina Frontera exceeded any expectations we had. We came around 6-7pm and everything we ordered (which was a lot) still came out fresh and delicious. I must say one of the things I’m most excited about moving to Elizabeth is being close to this gem.“

“Amazing service. Was quite busy on a saturday night yet they were able to accommodate us right away without a reservation (i do recommend making a reservation). It is byob, they put our drinks on ice and were constantly refilling our glasses throughout the night. The food was amazing. We got the tbone steak, seafood over yellow rice, and the seafood pasta. Portions are huge so we definetly over ordered. One of the best Peruvian resteraunts ive been to in central jersey. Definetly recommend for a date night or family dinner!!“

“I loved this place. Excellent food and good service. My only issue is that the atmosphere could be a little more cozy. I only went in because it was highly recommended, but perhaps if it hadn't been that way, I probably wouldn't have gone in.Parking: Parking is small but free.“

“In a town with a thousand Peruvian restaurants.. la casa de ceviche is one to check out! Went there late for dinner on a Sunday. Ordered shrimp chaufa and chicken chaufa and both were very delicious. For $19-22 a plate, the serving size did not disappoint. The waitress did not understand English but the menu has both Spanish and English.10/10 would recommend trying.Que rico, gracias!“

“I've been here a few times already. We came here for lunch this time. The food is always really good. Be mindful that lunch service is a little slow, so if you have limited time, you might be late. Hands down, this place has the best fried chicken I have ever eaten.“

“One word DELICIOUS! The drinks were great and the service was exceptional. The bartenders look at how to prepare the drink which was interesting but honestly it avoided it being to sweet or bitter. The food though!!! Now that was the star of the show. Because Peruvian food has a lot of Asian influence I sometimes find it to be salty. However, I'm glad to report it was not at all. The portions are generous. I would return to try other items!“

“I walked in on a whim and was greeted with open arms and an education into what Peruvian food is traditionally and how fantastic it is. There were so many possible options that I couldn't decide. I ended up with the ceviche combo plate, and wow! I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.“

“We went to Q'endo with high speciation this place had good review but we had a few observations. We the ceviche it was amazing fresh and authentic to drink we had the Maracuya drink and but the chicha morada was not great a little watery to our taste we had better ones. The 1/4 pollo a la brasa look a little over cook and very small same with the anticucho over seasoning and really dried corn. Rice for the arroz con mariscos a bit under cooked. Really nice place but need to improve in the over all food authentic experience.“

“Had lunch at this place few days ago.The restaurant don’t have parking lot so we have to find parking on the street.Love the authenticity of their dish. All workers seems friendly and helpful.Place seems kind of a bit small for the amount of people that came to this restaurant.Waitress was running around and little hard to get her attention, probably they were short handed at the time or need more worker to handle customers. Overall was good.“

“My family and I love coming here on sundays! The food is very delicious, it has a mixture or all types of Latin American dishes. My favorite is the Mofongo de pollo. It comes in a creamy mushroom sauce (I included the picture of what was barely remaining). But we also love to get the Jalea which is not in their updated menu. I did call to ask about that specifically because we ordered take out. Had a bit of a problem with my order but they were able to help me and fixed my order.“

“If you want authentic Peruvian food look no further, it’s right here in Clark. The portions of the dishes are more than generous. But the flavor is what keeps you coming back over and over again. I ordered the bistec de pobre and it was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this place.“

“Pleasant atmosphere, home-made restaurant but very rich preparation of the meals. In the drinks (chicha and barley) it could improve, since it feels like they are "from a sachet", but I understand that it is because in the US there is no PURPLE CORN from Peru with which the Delicious Chicha Morada is prepared (Original from Peru ).Everything else EXCELLENT, very good seasoning“

“If you’re hungry and you’re looking for authentic Peruvian food, head over there. The food is delicious. We had ceviche, chauffa and fish soup. The picture of the fish soup really doesn’t do it justice. The service was timely and super friendly. We had to return during the week because during the weekend, the place was filled up already. You have to be lucky to get a table.“
“Excellent restaurant! Glad they were able to rebuild mid last year. Have been coming here for years; always great…generally get the daily menu. Sitting area is not huge; parking on side is generally available. Always futball (soccer) on TV. Service is friendly…looks like the son has taken over after his parents or at least is more enagaged…definitelly starting to modernize…but food is ?.“
