Until now, that is! Surrender Cafe recently became available on DoorDash. I had never heard of it, but was drawn by the great reviews, tempting photos of the food, and many of my favorites on a menu with lots of my favorites. This is the first time I've ever ordered from a place, and then immediately again the next day. I especially love that so many of their dishes are available in smaller portions. Want to try the mofongo? Here's the mofonguitos! And meat-only portions can be had of just about everything in small, medium or large sizes, which made it easy for me to sample the beef and chicken guisado, red and black beans, pernil, so I ordered the bistec ecebollado for my main dish. Everything, absolutely everything is delicious, and arrived well packaged. Oh - and I almost forgot - the tres leches! Absolutely top notch. Not only some of the best Latin food I've ever had, but some of the best comfort food I've ever had, period.“

The spread is very well flavored, with a tiny bit of a kick. I would guess it’s tomatoes, olive oil, fresh pepper, fresh garlic, & a touch of salt. The ham & cheese croquetas are delicious & creamy. The tortilla española is flavorful & comes with a little bit of greens, but I drizzled the tomato spread over it for a bit more flavor. The crema catalana was delicious. There was a grilled octopus plate served with a salad as an appetizer and it was delicious! Most of the entrees were seasoned okay but nothing stood out. One of our 5 dishes came out wrong but corrected within 5 minutes. The original dish was meant for another table and we got the correct plate quickly. Noise level was normal for a Friday night. Very nice ambiance - decor wise. Would return.“

“Mannys is a family owned and operated restaurant so the atmosphere is very friendly and everyone seems to know each other!! They make u feel welcomed and appreciated which is hard to find nowadays. My favorite dish is the stewed chicken w/veggie rice. The small take out box is only $7 but can easily feed 2. The large is (I believe) $9, and both come with a handful of yummy plantanos. The chicken literally melts in ur mouth and they use just the right amount of seasoning so its not too spicy for those of us who don't like spicy food!!
