“Girls night out for a friend's birthday was a great time. Stephen S was our waiter and he was a sweetheart who was very attentive and personable. Food and drinks were delish. Dessert was soooo good. Cheese cake and chocolate cake recommended. Put sparklers in for the birthday girl—so fun!Would definitely go back.“
“This was my first time here I enjoyed my time here my server’s name was vi she did a great job in making sure my experience delightfully and also had a great sense of humor would definitely come back and ask for the same serverParking: Parking was fine it was finding the place that was difficult but called and they helped“
“I recently visited Wood Stack & Pizza for the first time with a group of friends, and I must say, we were all impressed. The thin crust pizza was a definite standout, with most of us ordering it and loving every bite. The service was also top-notch, adding to the overall positive experience. We had a great time at Wood Stack & Pizza and would definitely recommend it to others looking for delicious pizza in a cozy atmosphere.“
“I gave it 4 stars because I got the all you can eat and the gratuities were already on the bill and I didn't notice until after I got home so I tipped extra. It would be nice if they told you 2 people are automatic gratuity or all you can eat is automatic gratuity. They might be doing this for one person in the union location for all I know!“
“Wonderful birthday dinner with family. The fois gras was amazing. Everyone had different first courses but each one was so enjoyed-including mussels and salad. Main courses were all a treat. Especially the Dover Sole cooked and deboned tableside. So buttery delicious. The evening special of red snapper was excellent. The steak was perfectly prepared as was the chicken with a delicious sauce. Dessert included chocolate mousse - almost as thick as a pot de crème - such an indulgence. The soufflé was a black raspberry which you could smell prior to its appearance at the table. Yum!!!! Always delicious with wonderful service in a pretty dining area.“
“Tried to post a review but this place didn't exist on Yelp so decided to add it just to post a review becauseeeeee, I had one of the best airport salads here. We all know airport food isn't great so being that I got a great meal, I had to give them props. I got the brussel sprouts salad and added chicken. The grilled chicken was well seasoned/charred. Salad was low on brussel sprouts but the mixed greens made up for it. Almonds, pomegranate seeds, and craisins were a nice mix. Overall I'm just happy I got a fresh and good tasting salad in good portion size. Still overpriced but what can you do? It's at the airport.“
“We ordered wings and they were very good. We also ordered steak & cheese sandwiches that could have been good except they were heavily, over salted. Nikki was the bartender, and she was great. It is definitely a dive bar....but a good one if you like that kind of thing.“
“I have to say this place is top-notch phenomenal ?. I was here with my family for my birthday and Jon was our server. To start we ordered the wings and Burrata as appetizers OMG delicious. For entrees, we ordered the Tomahawk for my husband and I with hand-cut fries and brussel sprouts and my daughter ordered the Boneless Ribeye with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Every single dish tasted like homemade. For dessert, we had the Tres leches and Tiramisu. Tres leches wasn't too sweet and Tiramisu was on point. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a delicious steak.????? stars in my book ?“
“Gave my bestfriend a surprise dinner party here and nothing disappointed. Danielle the manager made sure everything from the setup to the vibe flowed. This beautiful floral venue is absolutely stunning. Praying this business thrives and expands.“
“Stopped in to check out the place for a private party. Had a quick fancy drink, that was amazingly delicious! The owner is very friendly and the place is as clean as a whistle! Definitely coming back hereParking: Had to circle around a few times to find parking. Someone left so I was lucky!“
“I have to say I really enjoy The Thirsty Turtle. Although it's a sports bar and you think it might just be cool to watch a game, the food and staff are excellent and professional. We went the other night and met friends for dinner and it was a fantastic experience! The waiter, (I don't remember his name), but he memorized our order and everything came out perfect! We had appetizers, burgers, beer & drinks, and enjoyed everything we ate and drank. I also have to call out Manny who went above and beyond in helping me. He is smart and knows how to treat customers. Any establishment should be lucky to have him!“
“Definitely a five star experience!!! We arrived just before happy hour ended (4-5:30) and they were kind enough to place a quick order of oysters!!! They were super fresh and delicious... favs were west coast (sorry NJ). Next, came the Parker rolls!!! Probably my favorite part of the meal, but then again, who doesn't like homemade, freshly baked rolls with buttered top and a touch of salt!!! Because everything looked so good, we opted for a bunch of other appys to start! The New Zealand angus beef bites were served with horseradish aioli and a Parker roll, the halloumi cheese was accompanied by orange slices, prosciutto, radicchio and dehydrated olives. The octopus was spectacular... crispy with romanesco sauce, fried chickpeas, cilantro and paprika breadcrumbs. Of course, we had to also try the OHS mussel pot... with chorizo, saffron, garlic cream, sun dried tomatoes... and an herbed garlic roll on top!!! LOVED THEM ALL! It's not often that so many different, but complimentary flavors are presented in each dish!!! We could have stopped our meals there and would have been pleasantly satisfied and full! Next, we chose a couple of the sirloin sandwiches with fries, and the squid ink pasta with Calabrian chili and Meyer lemon breadcrumbs!!! All was very good. The evening was finished with 3 of their delicious desserts... the lemon meringue tart was the perfect sweet with a pucker. The molten dark chocolate cake was decadent. And the trio of gelatos were each so uniquely flavorful and delicious! Wow!!! Given that 100 steps is a BYOB, it makes everything even more affordable! We had spectacular service in this beautiful restaurant with amazing food! It was quite a special evening!“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Envy Bar and Grille and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The blend of Portuguese and American cuisine on the menu was both unique and delicious. The flavors were a perfect marriage of both cultures. The ambiance of the restaurant was also a standout feature. The cool artwork around the space added a trendy and modern vibe. It was a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.I also want to give a shoutout to our waitress who provided exceptional service throughout our meal. She was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.Overall, I highly recommend Envy Bar and Grille for anyone looking for a unique dining experience in Newark. The food, atmosphere, and service all exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be returning in the future.Parking: No parking lot for the restaurant. Need to find street parking which depending on the day and time you go -is not a problem.“
“I used to frequent the Notch back in my Montclair Days (80's baby!) Rich and I (8 total!) all drove (3 cars!) to Daytona Beach on Spring Break back in 1987 or 88 I forget and he's like the most awesome guy ever and I am glad to see he still is! He said he'd never sell the place and I see they literally re-built around him; everything is new! Way to go Rich you Diamond David Lee Roth sonofagun you! The Great Notch Inn and Montclair State University are the only original landmarks around and I think Rich & The Notch will still be standing long after the college is gone! Well done Sir (clap-clap) well done indeed! Your Old Pal, Not 'sweet Lou'.....Chris!! The ringleader!! PS: 'Phyllis!!!' PSS: Did those queerdos Mark or Tom ever pay you back for like 'taking care of everyone' the entire week?! Those scumbags!! Love you & miss U bro!“
“very nice menu and the food is always delicious and well prepared. the service was extremely nice today as our appetizer was a bit later than usual so they gave us free appetizer on the house. it was such a wonderful way to be served by a friendly hospitable staff who made sure we had a great dining experience. I would highly recommend Trap Rock.“
“I was impressed with this restaurant, we enjoyed the food as well as the ambiance and service. I came for a business lunch. Ate inside the porch area that was enclosed. I thought the service was very good in terms of attentiveness. The food we got was flat bread pizza for appetizer, pepperoni with hot honey was delicious. The burger tasted great cooked perfectly when I ordered a medium, presentation was nice as I ordered a salad instead of French fries. Most importantly they had Aqua Pana for water. I did think the prices were a bit inflated and expensive however their service made up for it.“
“This place is fabulous. The food and service amazing - the atmosphere is gorgeous but on a Thursday evening had a number of very very very loud tables so it got hard to hear conversation at ours - but it is NJ so guess to be expected.Street parking or municipal lot only.“
“The overall feel and ambiance of this restaurant is definitely Korean-vibes. However, the cost of the food is beginning to really climb over these last handful of years. I have gone to this restaurant a bunch of times prior, and most especially prior to 2020. Yet, noticeably, the cost is rising. Ample parking, though. Quality well cooked/home-cooked Korean food and prompt service. Tasty!“
“Always love the food here, classic bar food along with some Irish specials and creative fusion dishes. I've never had anything bad from them. Service is always pretty good never had a bad experience. Love coming here with my family for special occasions but the bar scene is pretty popular too if that's more your speed. Highly reccomend!“
“Listen here I went to my niece 16 here and when I tell you I felt like it was the White House lol amazing place, clean and the people are well train to the fact I ask for water and 3 bottles by 3 different people came lol the manager is also very friendly and amazing and hope to have my daughter one here soon thank u“
“I love this place! The waitresses are so cute and friendly and try their best if they aren't fluent in English. They have deals on food and drinks on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Drinks are potent but tasty. The beef empanadas are yummy. I also recommend any of the “
“This was on my list to visit and I was able to do so today. I had dinner there and the steak was good but wish it came out warmer... I think it was waiting for my friend's salmon to be cooked as her food was hotter. The mash potatoes was hot though. The espresso martini was good definitely deserves a return. Service was absolutely excellent. Mauricio was pleasant, personable, and charming also funny.Overall lovely place I would return to, for sure..maybe they have brunch I'll need to check but then again maybe not as it opens at 4 pm.Parking: There is a parking lot but it doesn't look huge and it's across the street from the establishment.. You can do street parking I don't believe I saw any meters.“
“We recently had my daughter’s baby shower at the Mediterranean Grill, and honestly we could not be happier with everything! The place is elegant, light, and absolutely beautiful! Tom, the manager, was professional from start to finish and thorough with every detail. He was very flexible with the time of the shower, the menu, and even the personalised theme cake. The food quality and food options were great-especially the penne vodka! The staff could not have been more attentive, and the entire event ran effortless and care free, allowing us to enjoy our daughter’s shower. Many of our guests commented just how much they enjoyed the place and the food. I can’t wait to visit again for dinner! I highly recommend The Mediterranean Grill for an event or for dinner!“
“What a fantastic place for beer and burger. This is a nice local bar. It’s not a place where you want to take your little kids for late dinner where seats are mostly taken and many people standing around.Staff are very friendly and attentive, great beer selection, and delicious burger+onion rings.“
“This review is mainly about the bar and entertainment at Rocky's Bar and Grill. Since I have never eaten there (yet) I am not rating the food. First, with so many local bars having entertainment closing/closed since covid, I'm greatful for those surviving and some thriving providing musical entertainment whether it be karaoke, DJ or live music to its patrons. Been going to Rockys, which is about 25 miles away for me for years on occasion primarily to see classic and hard rock bands, mostly cover bands perform. There is ampke room between the band and patrons if they decide to dance and seating surrounding the open floor area. People attending all seem to be there to have a good time and have never seen any issues. The bar is not fancy and that's alright with me. They have a back area outside with tables for sitting, drinking, private conversation, smoking, etc. which works for me. There is a parking lot behind the bar and usually fills quickly when a band is playingweekend nights. The staff are attentive, hustle to serve everyone and are generally friendly. Drink prices are reasonable and pour seems standard for (my) mixed drinks. The bar reminds me a little bit like Moby's in Woodbridge but with more room to see/enjoy the band. If you're into live music I would recommend going to Rockys to see some of the local bands. Saw both Kathouse and Stereo Circus bands there and loved them both. Love a place that supports live music. Will be back!!“
“We met our friends here on a Friday night. Nice Irish pub. Not very busy at all for a Friday night, no problem getting a table. Our friends had eaten already so they just had drinks. My husband & I had cheesesteak & French dip sandwich, both were really delicious. Our server was very nice, friendly, food came out very quick. I normally hesitate to order roast beef sandwiches because sometimes, its really stringy, this meat was delicious & piled high. I opted for mashed potatoes instead of fries, so good“
“We moved to Bloomfield 7 years ago and I've seen this steak house all the time but never tried it out..... I wish we had went sooner!! Not only was the service excellent, different waiters and waitresses checked up on us periodically as well as our own waitress while we dined. I had the rib eye no bone (excellent and evenly cooked) with fries and my wife had the filet mignon with cream spinach. We had the empanadas for an appetizer and they were delicious. And for dessert, the chocolate brownie sundae..... Delicious!! The prices are probably the lowest of any steakhouse we've been too in NY/NJ and we've been to quite a few. Definitely look forward to going back a bunch of times!!!“
“Hi Colleen & Oh’ Brian Staff,Thank you for everything YOU personally did to go above and beyond to make today happen for our family’s celebration. The atmosphere, the positive energy, level of preparedness, attentiveness to our guests were all amazing. Arriving at Oh’Brian’s from a solemn service to warm, welcoming staff was really wonderful. As guests arrived, they were brought to our private seating area and offered beverages and drinks from the bar. As people were greeting and gathering and getting situated, it was clear, staff was attentive and present. As discussed having the buffet style, everything was set and organized.People raved about the Garden Salad; The hot food entrees were phenomenal and plentiful; our guests felt comfortable heading up to get another plate. None of our guest felt rushed at any time and were grateful for being asked for drink refills. The bar service/staff was fantastic. The timing of the desserts was perfect. Despite the drizzly, dreariness of the day, guests took advantage of the canopied outdoor seating area-which is also lovely. We realize a restaurant works as a team, and this team was fabulous. Again, thank you, Colleen, for your open communications, input/feedback, flexibility and sharing various options for alternate layouts for accommodations. Again, planning something like this, there’s a deeper appreciation of having staff immediately demonstrate sincere kindness and understanding. Our family is truly grateful for the entire staff’s professionalism throughout this event. We would recommend Oh’ Brian’s for any family gathering, work event, get-together or to meet up with friends for food & drinks at this great, local place.Vegetarian options: Wide selection of various salad entreesMultiple vegetables side dishesGreat selection of pasta dishes with multiple choices of meatless sauces (marinara, pink vodka, etc)Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options; dishes with meat could be prepared withoutSome Menu options are naturally gluten freeWide Variety of Salad ChoicesPlenty of pasta dishesPotatoes (not fried) gluten freeMeats- ask about specific marinades (some are gluten free)Chicken- can be grilled w/o marinade (GF)Parking: Gigantic, well lit, parking lot-Equipped with separate curb cuts with clear signage for entering and exiting the lotKid-friendliness: Kids’ menu/ relaxed environmentWheelchair accessibility: Many handicap parking spaces availableADA accessible rampNo stairs required to gain entry or entrance to dining areaRestrooms are also on the same main floor“
“I’ve been to a lot of pubs on the east coast, but this one is special. Authentic pieces of Ireland inside and the atmosphere puts you setting in a pub in Dublin.Great place and staff. Food was fresh and served proper. We had the Rusty Irishman drink “ like an old fashioned” and came back a second day to enjoy another round. Great place to rest up and enjoy the east coast before headed into the city. I would recommend a stop and rest over.“
“Olgas place is a land mark in the Elizabeth Port. To know Olga's is to know Elizabeth. Tucked away on a quiet one way street. Just on the other side of where the Turnpike divides the Frog Hollow Section of Elizabeth from the rest of the city.Olga has been one of the best places to enjoy. Recently remodeled and updated. This family owned an operated Restaurant/ Bar.Has been serving the best ?? Costa Rican Cusine for over 20 years. The menu is full of all sorts of great dishes. From a surf and turf to a Chifrijo. One of my personal favorites.White Rice covered in black beans with small pieces of Chicharon mixed in.( fried pork bits) topped with pico de gallo and sliced avocado. A hardy meal. My go to after a long day and an empty stomach. The prices are really reasonable. If you are just looking to have a good time and catch up with some friends.Olga's Place is that place. Where the music is playing just loud enough to make you dance in your seat. But not so loud where you can't enjoy the conversation with your date. You can sit at the bar or dinning room. TVs align the walls. You can catch the latest sporting event. Don't see the game you are looking for. Ask one of the friendly managers. They will be happy to look for it and put it on for you.Talking about the bar. They serve the latest and trendiest drinks. The bar tenders and wait staff are on point. Everyone is super friendly and go out of thier way to make you feel at home. The place is really busy on the weekends. As it has it share of local regulars and people who come from all over the state. There is plenty of parking on both sides of the building. If you know me and follow my post and reviews. You know I really enjoy my Cappuccinos. Ximena is one of the servers and makes it perfect every time. Ask for her to make your Cappuccino. You won't be disappointed. They have something going on every day of the week. Karaoke,Salsa Night and even a game night. You can enjoy singing along with the staff. They seem to know all the songs. Claudia will entertain you with her singing. Karla will charm you with her great smile and personality. You won't ever have to wait long. For your food or drink. I enjoy Thursday Nights when Kelly and Hariana are working. They make sure my order is right everytime.Olga's Place is trendy, hip yet they maintain a great family atmosphere.I just can't say enough about this place.I dont offer 5 stars often but this place is really that good. Follow them on Instagram and Facebook to stay connected with what's going on.I have quickly become a regular. I bet you might to. #ElizabethStrongParking: The Building has off street parking on both sides. On th weekends you mayhave to find parking on the streets.Kid-friendliness: Olga's has a family atmosphere and is kid friendly. On any given day. You will see families enjoying and eating at Olga's Place.“
“02.23.24 I was looking for a 'chill spot' conveniently located between work and home. I went on Yelp and this place popped up. I just got off work and I arrived about 10:20pm. This bar/restaurant was still serving food from the entire menu. Andrea made my classic margaritas (5 star). I paired the margaritas with caldo Verde soup (5 star) and clams casino (3 stars). If I get off work early again and I'm not in the mood for typical 'bar food', this is definitely my 'go to' spot.“
“Got there early on a Sunday with my wife and 2 small kids. We had then porterhouse for 2, garlic mash, broccoli rob, penne vodka w shrimp, and the lasagna. I wanted to love the place, but they fell short on the flavor of the food. We all liked our meal, but all agreed it fell short on the seasoning. They were just opening, so it's possible they gave us mash and lasagna from the day before and it was good but wasn't great. I do plan on going back to give it another go. The service was great and the dining room comfy. Not a bad experience. Worth a meal to try them out.“
“The food was great. I recommend getting the lobster fettuccine, short rib, and spicy calamari. We walked-in on a Friday night at 6pm and luckily we were able to get a table but I'm sure if we came later we might have had to wait so I would recommend getting a reservation since this seems like a popular place. My kids seemed to really enjoy the food too especially the desserts! You have to try the cinnamon roll bread pudding a la mode! ? If nothing else, get the bread pudding.“
“There were a couple of parties going on, with children who were loud. The restaurant is loud! But the food was excellent. We were celebrating a birthday, but besides wishing her a happy birthday as we signed in, nothing "special" was done. They did not have the ribs that were on the menu, and that was a bit of a disappointment.“
“Good was great! I had the sweet potato nachos. Different than anything I have had before but I'll be coming here again on my next travel through Newark. Thank you to Elma who provided the best service! She made sure I had quick service and enjoyed my meal!“
“The food is always fresh and the steak tender cooked to perfection. The ambience is causual comfortable and fun. No loud music to interfere with good conversation with your party. The service is outstanding always clean neat and smiling as they serve you. The best sangria I have ever had. I have become a regular here and know the waiter and waitress names and each of them have their special way of making me feel welcomed and ready to serve. 5 Stars and highly recommended.“
“Pass by this place a lot and finally went inside.Glad I did.Nice old fashioned bar with awesome food. With so many chain restaurants taking over the landscape, it’s refreshing to come to a place like this and actually eat freshly made food and sit back with a few drinks.I will def be coming back!BTW try the hot pastrami sandwich on rye. It was so delicious.“
“Linden is a neighborhood that was once all Polish. Not so much now, but it still attracts many Polish patrons wanting to drink and eat the familiar cuisine. Located on West Price Street off of a busy Wood Avenue and highly recommended, some of my colleagues came to this hidden gem, Amsterdam Alley for lunch. Upon arrival, the establishment isn’t a large building and has outdoor seating available. Upon entering, the inside has a front room with a bar and several high-top tables. The back room has standard-height tables. Both rooms have several TVs. It's inviting, charming, rustic, and very clean. We were greeted by the staff and decided on a table in the back room. Our server, Kasia, was informative and accommodating. There were several menus given to us: the main had a big variety of Polish classics; today’s special; and lunch. We ordered from the lunch menu and got six pieces of pierogis with mushroom soup, a Polish-style mushroom-stuffed baguette, and a grilled Polish kielbasa sandwich with sautéed onions and pickles, accompanied by fries. The food was excellent, fresh, and authentically Polish! However, there was a small incident with the soup, but our server was able to rectify the problem. The portions were just right, and the prices were amazing. We could recommend this place.“
“Cheese steak sandwich was amazing. Definitely worth coming back and trying other meals out. Update: have been coming here for lunch and I just have to say the lunch specials are amazing. Great food! Large tv for viewing sports or news. They always have fresh ingredients and drinks are nice and cold. Will keep coming here. Keep up the good service. Parking is always out front on the building. They don't have a parking lot“
“Friendly service, nice wine selection and amazing food sums up our experience. I have eaten here once before a while back and I remember liking the food, but our meal was truly delicious! We will be back more. Some favorites included the calamari, meatballs, veal Milanese and pasta with short ribs.“
“The mid-week drink specials are awesome. Bucket of beers a favorite of mine. Dallas Cowboys bar that's a plus for football season. Pool table is in the corner. Old school R&B, House, and Neo Soul playing most of the time for the grown and sexy.“
“The service is top notch, the food was spot on, and the place is your typical Jersey restaurant. The staff are all friendly and the host Gail is amazing. We happen to be here on a Saturday evening, and they were having an even in the bar area so after dinner we headed there and partied out until 1:30 in the morning. Great place!! Luckily, we had a room in the adjacent Best Western. Love this Best Western because it is convenient, and they have room service from this restaurant.“
“I visited Just Jake’s on a Friday evening for a live band performance and had a good time. There are no waiters, tables or chairs, just a big dance floor near the stage and a bar so everybody was dancing and having fun. There was a $8 cover charge and the price of the drinks were reasonable. Staff was friendly and it was easy and quick to get drinks.“
“Had a fun girls night out here. Delicious food especially the burgers. The Pretzel appetizer is a must if you plan on drinking! We went on a Friday night and enjoyed the karaoke. The staff was really nice. You can play pool or darts. Great night out or dinner spot!“
“There's good bartender service. Nice vibe, nice music. The cost of drinks is fair. They're fed. This place appeals to me. Everyone is checked for your safety, including the security personnel, front and back bars, Djs on deck, sports on TV, and ATH. There are hookers on deck and a pleasant vibe.“
“This review was supposed to be done back in October of 2023....we had our daughter's first birthday here and it was a great experience! Cynthia helped us every step of the way and made herself available for any questions or concerns we had. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had more than enough room for our guests and they enjoyed the food. I'd recommend Stage House for your next event!“
“My manbun chum and I have been trying to find a home to watch our one March Madness game every year, and I think we found it for the foreseeable future. In fact, this time it looks to be a literal home.We stopped by last night to watch my beloved Gonzaga Bulldogs end their tournament run against Purdue. I could go into quite a bit of detail about some very shady calls in the paint and what I think should have been a taunting foul on Purdue's future proctologist Fletcher Loyer, but I digress. As soon as I walked in, I could tell I was going to like it. Prior years have been marred by loud sports bar atmospheres where you have to battle tooth and nail to convince someone to change the channel to something that isn't a mediocre NYC-area sports team (I say this as a Mets fan as well). Liberty was significantly quieter, definitely had an older crowd but also had numerous TVs throughout. The best of all worlds. I walked maybe 10 feet from the entrance, asked the bartender if she could switch the TV to the Zags on TBS, and that was that. Aside from a weird moment in the second half when the TV mysteriously changed to ESPN for a few minutes (we never confirmed the culprit), we had primo viewing of the game. Somehow we also managed to sit down next to a couple whose son was currently at Purdue. What a world.Vibe is everything with a place like this. I did a mild double-take when I realized the bar was located in a literal residential neighborhood in what may be someone's actual house (or at least upstairs). There's a parking lot on the side that had plenty of spots, and overall this was one of the most conveniently located establishments I've ever been to - it's about 30 seconds from Route 78 both ways. Initially I felt bad for the neighbors, but as bars go this is not exactly one that's going to be hosting raucous throwdowns outside or anything. You may actually be able to go to bed at 9pm living next door, which is my personal dream. The interior has a lot of tchotchkes behind the bar, and is surprisingly comfortable/spacious. The game started a little after 7:30pm on a Friday, but there were seats available right in front of the TVs and most of the patrons seemed to be in the back area playing pool. It did get a little more crowded throughout the game, but never to a point where it felt claustrophobic. The clientele demo skewed all over the place - several older codgers looked like they'd been rejected from Rock of Love Charm School (I thought one in particular was a dead ringer for Poison's CC DeVille), but there was also a few young men roaming around and middle-aged couples/singles throughout the establishment as well. Pretty much anyone who would theoretically come into a bar, did.We had a good bartender, who not only accommodated my TV request, but was friendly and accessible throughout our stay. I was in a sweet palate mood, and she offered to make a Hawaiian Volcano, apparently a drink pilfered from her days at TGI Friday's years ago. It's not something I'd necessarily get on a regular basis, but it definitely brought me back to my early legal drinking years for sure. I could taste some Malibu and juice, and sipped them throughout the game. We also got mozzy sticks and a pepperoni bar pie. Both were really decent for what they were, especially the mozzy sticks, which were fried perfectly. I thought the pizza tasted like a giant Bagel Bite, which is not an insult. But let's be clear - this is a dive bar, so it's not like you're wandering into the kitchen and stumbling across Jeremy Allen White from The Bear. You want something fairly tasty to munch on, and we got it.Strong recommend. I think expectations for a dive bar should be pretty simple - comfortable and pleasant. This was certainly that, minus the March Madness heartbreak.“
“We had lunch here for the first time recently. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The menu had a bunch of great-sounding dishes that we'll have to come back for at dinner time. The cocktail menu was also inviting. We'll be back soon!“
“We had a fantastic dining experience here, made especially great by our server, Janine. Food was great, beer was delicious, atmosphere was perfect for four young kids. And Janine was awesome—she perfectly memorized our orders for a party of 9, accommodated some special requests, and checked in with us at exactly the right times.“
“The Carriage House Restaurant is literally steps from the PaperMill Playhouse. Great to stop in prior to a performance. The atmosphere is best described as "cozy and rustic". I've stopped in about 2-3 times for drinks and appetizers. The food has always been very tasty. Little on the pricey side. On a positive note, you're only a few steps away from the theater. As of now, I've had Chicken Sausage Appetizers and a Steak Quesadilla. Nice wine and cocktail list. We've enjoyed their wine and cocktails on a previous visit. In December '23, I had an issue making reservations. Left two telephone messages and never received a call back. I couldn't even make a reservation on Opentable or Resy. We stopped in and informed the hostess of the issue. Anyway, we ended up eating at the bar. The Carriage House Restaurant does offer Cabaret and Murder Mystery shows.“
