“A new favorite local spot! I actually did a comedy show here last night and my boyfriend, my friends and I are already talking about how it's such a great place for comedy. Drinks are great, burgers really are the best in Hudson county, great onion rings too. And of course the owners / staff are super nice and create a welcoming atmosphere. We will be back!!!“

“A lovely atmosphere with helpful staff and an owner that clearly cares about his customers well being. The food is really good for the price and timely service. Would highly recommend if youre in the mood for Spanish and dont want to go to the likes of Ask Taino,Although it appears to have changed hands, it has retained some of the better staff members that were working before the change. This is nice.“

“After a horrific day at the airport We were transplanted to The Wyndam Garden Hotelwhere we were " revived "by the over whelmed yet attentive and friendly waitstaff at The Gaur/La Parrillas Bar! We started with fresh guacamole and plantain chips, then the Mixed meat Chaufa !!! For a restaurant full of patrons hangry and paying with airline food vouchers" the waitstaff maintained professional service in spite of being "in the weeds"The meal was prepared authentically, plated to impress, and seasoned deliciously. We quenched our travel stress with "old fashioned" style Margaritas perfectly crafted by the charismatic and entertaining bartender "John" !Please note, we ended up at this restaurant/bar by accident but ended up being truly grateful for a enjoyable and flavor-able meal!Even if you aren't staying at the Wyndam Gardens, treat yourself to a Latin dinner and drink at The Gaur/Parrillas Bar!“

I’d say it’s easily some of if not the best shrimp I’ve ever had in my life. The whole menu just compliments itself from the Calabrian chili butter to the wagyu steak. Also, Sitting in the back of the restaurant is such a cool experience because you get to watch the chefs work their magic on that wood fire grill. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in NYC and in my top 5.“

Everything I ordered was tasty, but the star of the show was my main entree, Moqueca (Brazilian fish stew with tomatoes, pepper, onions & coconut milk) - It was both comforting and flavorful. The fish was cooked to perfection (soft, tender & flaked easily with my fork), the coconuts milk stew was rich & robust in flavor, with a smooth enough consistency to coat your spoon. In summary, it was chefs kiss! ?“

That's the only downside to service. You'd have to go up to the bar and order. Drinks were pretty good for happy hour. The food was even better! “This was a laid-back, divey type of bar that supported the Packers as there was memorabilia throughout the inside. There were a few tables with mostly high tops surrounding the bar as well as outdoor seating with televisions. The menu had a few unique bar features along with over 140 wing flavors. Two types of wings and the special empanadas were ordered. The wings came eight to an order and seemed to be of good quality. They were meaty and large too. The sauces that were picked were awesome sauce ($14) and the Pickle Me Elmo Pickle Dressing ($15). The awesome sauce seemed to be a yum yum sauce but could not be exactly sure as the menu did not provide a description and just stated 'don't' ask - It's awesome." Regardless, it was very tasty. It was not spicy at all if unfamiliar with yum yum sauce. The pickle sauce was decent. I would have preferred more of the sauce present, but it was okay at best. The special empanada consisted of hot sausage and mozzarella. There were two to an order and they were big. The overall empanada was extremely crispy. There was plenty of filing and it seemed to be more of a chorizo texture than sausage, but it was still great. Will I go back? Definitely.“

“Stopped in here quick for drinks and fast eats. Got the $10 special of a Bush Light and Shot. We also got 5 appetizers for $60 and it was totally worth it. We got 2 orders or chicken tenders, 1 order of fried pickles, 1 order of bread sticks, and 1 order of nachos.“

“Eagle is a rare thing in the concrete jungle of NYC. I rarely see it. ? Eagle ? rare is one of my favorite whiskeys I tried a few years ago and like it a lot. Also Johnny and Evan William. I have a new whiskey drinker palette ? but I'm specific about what I like. Much more to discover and I know this is a place I can taste American brands to like.Nice place. Spacious and aerated with just the proper light for a cozy ambiance.Friendly staff. Kaitlyn went above and beyond to provide great service. I tried an eagle ? rare old fashion. It was delicious.Ten years anniversary today and I want to congratulate you ?? on a decade milestone and wish you many more decades to come.,“

“Im used to no bun as im celiac, but guess what? They had a glutenfree bun? I had the Harry’s Burger, not the mustang burger (but mustang was the only one I could tag in the suggestions) and it was the BEST burger I’ve ever had! The meat was so juicy so flavorful, it was simply amazing! After my first bite I knew why they say on the menu (special mix of meat, it is absolutely heavenly!!!) … later the owner told me they’re using the same speciality butcher for 30 years!!! Absolutely recommended!!! Five stars all around!!! Familyrun Irish Pub, everyone so nice, food top, a really great experience!Dietary restrictions: Glutenfree bun? well, actually I had the Harry’s Burger, not the mustang burger and it was the BEST burger I’ve ever had! The meat was so juicy so flavorful, it was simply amazing!“

“I used to make fun of Tip Top when I'd walk by. Unassuming is an understatement. One night when we were already a bit buzzed we went here as a joke. I can't explain it, but... this bar is kind of magical? Incredible patio. Immaculate vibes. Now it's one of our favorite spots.“

“WOW! I was positively blown away by my entire experience at Due West. From the warm welcome and immediate seating, to the attentive nature of the wait staff, to the flavorful and delicious food and beverages, to the ambience and vibe - I could go into detail on every single one of these themes and it just kept getting better and better and impressing me as the evening progressed. And actually - I will go into detail because it was just that amazing:1. The welcome: we arrived around 7pm absolutely starving and hoping we'd be able to eat as soon as possible. My friend and I were immediately seated (which was a relief because from what I've heard, this place has a line out the door of eager patrons vying to get in, so YOU KNOW that means its a hot ticket). We were sat at a beautiful corner table and after a brief moment, and as non-drinkers, we were recommended some mocktails that turned out to be just as tasty as they were beautiful - which many NYC spots do not offer, but thankfully that wasnt the case here. The recommendation was perfect and exactly what we were looking for2. THE FOOD: I cannot stress this enough. Everything tasted like Jesus himself put his blessing on it. We had the small plates of fish tacos and the crab dip. Both were absolutely fantastic, but the crab dip truly floored me. I would order a swimming pool size offering of that crab dip. It was THAT good! My friend had a buttery lobster roll that he inhaled, it was sooooo good. And I had the steak frites which was so tender and cooked to absolute perfection! I was actually sad when I finished it because I didn't want the meal to end. Then we had the warm, gooey, chocolately churro dessert. It was like a hug in your mouth, i don't know how else to describe that experience. We accompanied it with two mini chocolate shots and it was just heavenly. We were full in the best way!3. The service: As someone who travels all over and dines at all types of places, the service was something that truly stands out to me: attentive, friendly, engaging, and welcoming! We were carefully tended to, followed up on, water refilled, warm conversation, friendly recommendations, and service with a smile. It honestly felt like we were amongst family.4. The ambience: It was a busy dinner period and everyone seemed to be receiving the same caliber of service and enjoying a lovely night out. The music was faint enough so as not to interrupt your conversations, but loud-ish enough to give the place a truly fun buzz and feel. Paired with the warm lighting, it works for both a date night or a night amongst friends!By the time we were ready to leave, we were already making plans to return with a bigger group and we even explored their website to see whether they host events (they do!) and we discussed the possibility of reaching out to host one of our birthdays! I can't stress enough how wonderful this experience was. I encourage everyone to RUN, don't walk, to Due West!PS. We also found out that the owners of Due West are opening another restaurant in early March called Main Street Landing down in DUMBO, Brooklyn and WE CANNOT WAIT TO CHECK IT OUT! Whatever these folks are doing, its clear that they're experts and they care about the quality of products and services that they provide. THIS IS HOW YOU DO BUSINESS! Bravo!“

“We lucked into finding Jakes after a long day visiting the sites, and walking back to the 1 train to head back up town. The menu is seemingly one of only a hand full we saw in NYC that was remotely affordable food wise. The service we had was very good. I enjoyed the Steak Sandwich, and while I asked for it to be cooked medium it was medium well. Thankfully it was a perfect cut, seasoned well and tasted great as described on the menu. My wife had the Pear Salad without Pistachios (our son is allergic), the salad was a good size and I got to have about 1/2 of it. It was perfectly dressed, and the pear played delightfully off the balsamic very well. My Son had the burger and fries and he called it his new happiness burger. High marks from him as he is a picky eater. The only complaint was the cost of our drinks. 4 pours of Makers Mark on the rocks was over $50, which is nuts when you can buy a .750 for $24 in Baltimore (maybe not in NYC). At least they were fair pours. Next time we will probably skip the drinks (this was a theme of our NYC trip, I don't know why I kept getting alcohol). In summary, Jake's is great, and had good music playing.“

“We really liked the variety on the menu — something for everyone!
