50 Best Vegetarian Restaurants near Peapack And Gladstone

“I think this is my second or third review of Azzurro. My wife and I live in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania and drive 42 miles to Peapack at least twice a month (although this week we were there twice) to dine at the best Mediterranean/Italian restaurant in N.J. We have several Mediterranean/Italian favorite restaurants in N.J. All run by Albanians. However, Azzurro is just a touch above the others. The quality of food is outstanding (Rigatoni Azzurro and Eggplant Parmigiana are standouts) with all entrees cooked to order (pasta true al'dente). Prices are very reasonable with excellent desserts priced at $7. The servers are total professionals and attentive. The restaurant is roomy, clean and have nice paintings on the wall. And to top it off, it's BYOB. We just love the place. We have not met the owner but have repeatedly pleaded with the servers to tell the owner to open a restaurant in the Lehigh Valley or at least closer to Pennsylvania. Bob and Linda“

“Coming here for years. Some food items have gone down in quality, namely the pork chop and mac and cheese. Pork chop used to be really cooked to perfection and moist, however lately it has been dried out and overcooked. Mac and cheese lost the amount of cheese it usually has on it, and noodles were undercooked the previous two times. Must have changed the cooks in kitchen, who knows.“

“A cute cafe in the heart of Basking Ridge's commercial district. It is simple but charming, and coupled with the town, has a very Gilmore Girls-esque atmosphere. Limited parking right in the front of the cafe. We came on a Wednesday around 11am and it was almost empty, and as we were leaving about an hour later it was nearly full. Good service, good food, great prices. I would definitely come back if I find myself in the area.“

“The service and food choices are always good, however yesterday the chef (shame on me for not remembering his name) produced the normal exemplary Thai Spring rolls and calamari. So special that they were followed by the best Bendang Lamb I have ever tasted. After eating the beef based curry in Indonsia and around the world, the chef's Malasian influence produced this amazing Bendang Lamb. Now it would seem that I have no choice but to make it my meal of choice on every visit.“

Avocado rolls was yet another impressive bite Entrees Masamman avocado curry was liquid gold .. too precious to be finished but that's what we did. It was relished by everyone at our table. Red curry was a standard curry like any Thai place . Basil fried rice was a perfect harmony of Thai flavors with loads of tofu and veggies . Drunken noodles was another marvel with the flat noodles interlaced with the lovely sauce and tossed with veggies . Dessert The dessert stole the show as is expected in the grand finale . Fried Banana with ice cream was delectable and fried ice cream was grandiose being lit up table side with the fire torching the fried ball of ice cream. A cozy restaurant serving up big , bright & bold flavors. What's not to love about it !“

“Wow. The Black River Barn has outdone themselves again. What I remember growing up is an older pub feel with ok food, that has changed. It's now the most reasonably priced, delicious, kid and adult friendly food in a good part of Northern NJ. The atmosphere is palpable and full of life. “I placed an order for pick up. Everything we ordered was delicious. The mozzarella sticks were so good. Never have I ever picked up an order brought it home and the sticks were still hot. When you bit into them them were still stringy. My boys bit into one and can pull the cheese out as long as there arm. Highly recommend!“

“Best local sushi place around! The sushi is always fresh and the sides/appetizers are delicious as well. They have a little "mizu mart" in the front of the store with plenty of Japanese and Korean snacks, ramen, and candy. There isn't any space for indoor eating (it's really tiny) but takeout or outdoor dining is available. Service is quick and very kind.“

“I've lived here for 30 years, and this was our first time at Ridge. My group of six arrived at 2:30, and we were the only diners. People did come and go for take-out. We were served the best warm bread I've had in a long time--crusty on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I believe the owner was our server, and he was very accommodating. The food was delicious! We brought some wine and were given wine glasses. This is what we ordered: Mozzarella sticks - Good and typical of what you would usually have. Meatballs - I loved them. Good flavor and delicious marinara Pesto Chicken Panini - Excellent Sausage Parmesan sandwich - My husband didn't think it was anything special, but the bread was great Bucatini Amatriciana: Pasta with Italian bacon and onions in a fresh tomato sauce. It was mildly spicy and flavorful, and the portion was good. The kids split a Margarita pizza with fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, fresh tomato sauce, and basil. Delicious Overall, we enjoyed the food. We have no complaints and are glad we chose to eat here.“

Got some items i saw in the menu that wpuld change every few seconds and when i asked for one of the items they asked me which kind which wasnt in the description so was a bit confusing but pleasantly suprised it all turned out more than well and tasted great. “We dined at The Market Tavern several times over the years and were pleasantly surprised to experience Sapori Cafe. The new owner has transformed the restaurant into something completely different, with its own unique identity, but kept the charm of the original building, which we love. The food and service were amazing, with specials to satisfy everyone’s palette, and it’s a BYOB to top it off. The string bean salad with beets, and the Lobster ravioli entree special with shrimp and scallops, served in a vodka sauce, was my favorite. Sapori Cafe is definitely a welcomed gem to the area, and we hope to be back very soon.“

“It was a packed house on a Friday night dinner time. Luckily, it was just my husband and I, so we got a table right away. The place has nice decorations and it is also a clean place. Combo (Fried Calamari and Shrimp) - The calamari and shrimp were cooked perfectly. It wasn't over-battered, and it was lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. Went well with the sauce. Roti Canai - I would say it wasn't that great at all, and I love Roti Canai, but this wasn't it. Malaysian style pancake were not crispy at all. Husband says he felt it was undercooked. The curry itself was very liquidy. The potatoes were good. When you dip the pancake into the curry. It would dip everything down, meaning you don't get that curry on to the pancake. So you have to use the spoon to get the curry and eat it like soup. Gang Kiew Wan with Squid - Green curry was a great pick. The squid is cooked perfectly. It was soft and easy to chew. I love the veggies, and they were delicious. Duck Noodles - It's great and very flavorful. Wish they would add a little bit more of the shredded duck meat. I felt there wasn't much to it. (This dish reminds me of Beef Chow Fun.) Overall, from the beginning to the end, even though it was a packed house, the services were great. They made sure the water on the table didn't go empty. They checked on us to see how everything was. I had to take off the one star because I wish their Roti Canai was better. But I am planning to go back here again to try other dishes.“

Being a vegetarian, this is a fantastic option for friends who like sushi or meat, while there are many vegetarian options for myself, including the various rolls (avocado roll, sweet potato roll, etc.). The prices are extremely reasonable for what you get, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the desserts are unique and tasty. “We ended up getting takeout tacos from here to bring across the street to Buttzville Brewery. It was pretty quick from when we ordered to when our food was ready to pick up our order. We got an order of steak street tacos, an order of chicken street tacos and guacamole. The tacos are quite small, but it was nice to get a couple different options to share to try multiple flavors. The tacos came with a green and a red sauce - both packed with flavor but the red one was SPICY in the best way and kept getting spicier after you swallowed. The guacamole was fantastic with lots of chunks of onion, cilantro and tomato. Truly a perfect sharable snack to bring to a brewery and share with a small group.“
