“I unexpectedly was having 12-15 people over my house after a memorial service. I called Chanos and asked if they would be able to provide food for me within 2 hours. Surprisingly, they did not hang up the phone, but rather, the gentleman put me in contact with their caterer. She was extremely kind and helpful. She guided me in choosing food and the team got it done and delivered to my house right on time. I could not be more thrilled to have this amazing restaurant in the town I live in. Thank you!“

“This is a small business that makes you feel at home even from different ethnicity. We are a fmaily of 7 and accomodated us very well. My kids are extremely picky and 3 of them chose the chicken tacos and loved them! One had the quesadilla and he is the most picky he ate some and took the rest for the next day. I am very picky with Mexican authentic food but this surpass all the restaurants I have been to in PA (I live in PA)! Al Azar plate was awesome and my baby is not one to eat much and she was eating the rice. My husband had the Caldo beef. To my surprise that was the most tasty soup I have tasted and the 1st Mexican soup I have tasted! The horchata was out of this world good! Will definitely go back again! I told the server that my son had a shellfish allergy and respected that! I bet the rest of the dishes are just as good!Parking: It’s a small location with parking. But that is enough for us!Kid-friendliness: My kids were excited! The decorations made them so happy! The food was great! Respected my child’s allergies!“

“I love a home run...a trifecta :)It's a cozy but clean location...bright & warm vibe with the woods & metals. What can make it more welcoming???!!! A baked goods, sandwich, and other goodies glass showcase as soon as you step in....sorry no picture! The service is AMAZING by far #1 on my list of places BUT not over bearing. They took care of all our needs with kindness & gentleness while allowing us to enjoy our time together. The food tasted as if from FARM TO TABLE...fresh, crisp, warm and light. The arepas were perfect...my grandma and mom are straight from Colombia so arepas are huge...these meet the criteria, soft but cooked on the inside and grilled perfectly, moist not dry. My son's Eggs Benedict was delish and the bread wasn't the usual English muffin instead a thick slice of heavenly toast. The avocado toast was unbelievable and scrumptious. I had both Arepa dishes...both very good but the beef and cheese was exceptional :)Look forward to going back!“

“Really cool, hip spot in Caldwell for good Peruvian food. Our server knew exactly what to recommend as well when we asked about the specials, entrees, and appetizers. We had ceviche as a appetizer as well as some Maduros and they were quite tasty. I really enjoyed my main entree which was a Mofongo saltado which adds a nice Dominican fusion/flair to it. For dessert I went with the flan and espresso and I feel like you can't go wrong with that choice. My friends had the tres leches and they mentioned it was super tasty too. They constantly come around refilling your glasses, which is great. They have many options of sangrias and mimosas available. They were pretty tasty. The hookah was pretty affordable. I think it was $25 for a refill and $40 to get one. Make sure you get one before 4 o’clock because they kick you out by five and you can’t finish it but the hook was pretty smooth. Will be coming here again the music was great definitely a lot on repeat but it was great !! :)“

“Stopped by for lunch today and was blown away. Aside from over a dozen fried empanadas to choose from, they had five baked varieties on display. Inside is seating for 20, a soda fountain and a small drink fridge with about 10 options. Empanada are $6 but double the size you'll find elsewhere. I got the chicharrones de cerdo bowl. Served piping hot and fresh, the pork wasn't hard but had great flavor and chew. The sauteed red onions were a nice touch on top of a bed of fluffy white rice and iconic black beans. The squeeze of lime over everything married all the flavors together giving it that zesty acidity. $15.98 and well worth it, could only finish half.It took less than 10 minutes to prepare.Parking: Better off in the back or on a side street“

Everything was Delicious and I even took my leftovers to the hotel for later. I can't say enough about the treatment we got from Denis the owner and his wife. It's not the nicest place, but the food is always delicious and reasonably priced. Great lunch with leftover for $10 - $12. Staff is very friendly but many times difficult to communicate with because much of the staff only speak Spanish. Still, just point to what you want, and you'll get it. Friends of the Chef Meal Delivery • $$
150 Florence Avenue, Hawthorne - 7.42 miles

“Oh boy, hold onto your forks, folks, because I just had the most mind-boggling experience with the Friends Of The Chef weight loss meal prep program! I mean, seriously, my taste buds are in shock while my scale did a whole celebration.First off, let's talk about the weight loss wizardry that happened here. I signed up for delivery on Friday for Sunday, started chowing down on these remixes of my childhood favorites, and BAM! In just four days, I've dropped 4.4 lbs.! I'm over here calculating whether I've actually lost weight or my bathroom scale is just pranking me. Is this sorcery or just some culinary version of a magic show? Now, let's chat about these remixes, shall we? It's like the chef took my beloved comfort foods from back in the day and gave them a snazzy makeover. I'm talking about food glow-ups that would make Cinderella jealous. Tres golpes? Transformed into a low-calorie sensation that tastes like a symphony of flavor explosions. La bandera? It's like the chicken went to culinary school and graduated with honors in being healthier but still lip-smackingly delicious. And the taste, oh dear taste buds, they're doing a conga line of joy! It's like a flavor party in my mouth and everyone's invited. I'm tempted to put on some dancing shoes and do the cha-cha just to express my taste bud's enthusiasm. The taste is so spot-on, I'm half-convinced my abuela must've been secretly hired as a consultant because it's like a teleportation device to my childhood dinner table. It's like they bottled up the nostalgia and sprinkled it on every dish. Seriously, if a meal can induce time-travel-like nostalgia, this is it.But wait, there's more! I'm practically counting the seconds till I can place my order for next week's meals. I'm on the edge of my seat like it's a cliffhanger episode of my favorite TV show. Who needs suspenseful dramas when you've got meal prep excitement? So there you have it, folks. Friends Of The Chef's weight loss meal prep program is the real deal – a journey of flavors, weight loss surprises, and an abuela-approved trip down memory lane. If you're into losing weight while feeling like you're being serenaded by a taste symphony that's straight out of your childhood dreams, this is the meal plan for you. Just remember, this isn't just a meal plan; it's a culinary carnival for your taste buds and a scale shrinker in disguise.“
