“This was our first visit and it sure didnt dissapoint. Everything was outstanding service, food and atmosphere. I had the whole fish and my wife had the lamb and both dishes were done to perfection. We will definetly visit again and bring friends over to this hidden gem!“
“Delicious & great service! We loved Esca but this was also v delicious & v healthy. Room is pretty. The bar is not as cozy & stylish as it was in its former iteration but overall we will be back & wish them great success! Great space & option including while in the theatre district, Sony Hall, etc;))“
“I usually don’t goto places like this because I’m from Brooklyn and I dress like a bum. The service was amazing, they didn’t judge my dirty Brooklyn cyclones hat and were very attentive. Second, the food was amazing and loved every bits of it.The appetizers we tried were the tuna tartare, chicken gyro bao buns and saganaki fondue. All were amazing! My main course was the salmon and I can’t describe how good it was because my vocabulary is limited. But anyway, once again the service was amazing. I would recommend this place even to gnarly out of borough people like me!“
“Our 60th birthday dinner could not have been better in any way. The food was fantastic. Shared many small plates including spanakopita, spreads, zucchini chips, shrimp, beat salad, shredded Brussel sprout salad. The restaurant wasn't too noisy. (It was a weeknight.) They sat us at a round table which made it easy to converse. Look forward to a return visit.“
“It is a perfect place in every way from the service, to how the place looks, the food is FABULOUS and fresh. One of the best seafood in the area. They have a special lunch Monday to Friday, the prices are very convenient, the portions in everything are a good size and the drinks are very delicious.“
“The restaurant's staff was exceptionally attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance added to the overall experience, and the diverse menu offered delicious, well-presented dishes. A delightful dining experience from start to finish. We had the pleasure of running into chef Maria Loi who treated us very well and gave us a honey yogurt on the house!“
“By now of course this place is a NYC Institution like Da Umberto, Raouls and Il Mulino. They run a good program, and the service is always attentive. The drinks come quickly, and notably the mezze are the star, along with the fresh fish. The whole bronzino is excellent. You can also almost aways get a table short notice, so that's nice too. Go with a smile on your face, and you are liable to leave with a bigger one.“
“Having lived in Astoria almost 20 years, I've had the pleasure of dining on delicious Greek cuisine, and Taste of Gyro is one of, if not the best Greek food I've tasted. The chicken souvlaki platter has THE MOST flavorful, juicy chicken with incredible fries (that are spiced and cooked to perfection). The Branzini special I had was served with an incredible tomato based sauce that was unlike any I've tasted and out of this world delicious. Be sure to try the zucchini fritters that are fresh, succulent, and served with astounding tzatziki.Add to this, the most down to earth, friendly, and welcoming staff in a neat, clean, and quiet mom and pop environment, and you've got a place that keeps me coming back. It's just a 5 minute walk off of Ditmars and Steinway, on a quiet residential neighborhood and worth the trip. Do yourself a favor, and delight in the taste sensations they provide, and support hard working folks who put their heart and soul into everything that comes out of the kitchen.“
“Have not been to Greece yet however felt like I was transported to Greece when we went to Agnati. The most authentic vibe and food. Great service on a busy Friday night, the servers explained the menu thoroughly. Started the dinner with bread and delicious olive oil. For starters we ordered Fava with pita and chicken croquettes which were unbelievable. The tzakiki was fresh and homemade. For mains we ordered mousakka, lamb with lemon sauce which was tender and fall off the bone with a side of lemon potatoes. We also ordered the red snapper with a side of rice. Servers were kind enough to take out 90 percent of the bones for easy eating. Dessert was complimentary and the cookies were to die for. Go to agnati for a real authentic Greek experience!“
“So delicious. Super low key place, no frills. Came on a random Tuesday and while the place was somewhat empty, it was super cozy and inviting. Got the grilled octopus and souvlaki chicken plate with fries and salad. Staff was nice too and at the end of the meal we got a tiny piece of cake dessert that would pair well with coffee. Would definitely come back.“
“This is a great restaraunt with a delicious menu and friendly staff. On the flipside, it took over 2 hours to be served at a reserved 6pm seating, which was really too long of a wait. The manager kindly compensated us for the wait, but this seemed to me to be a fundamental failure of a core element of our dining experience.“
“We would like to thank the Avra Team for the wonderful experience we had celebrating our son's 1 year old birthday and his grandparents 40th wedding anniversary. Beautiful place for special celebration! Sophisticated ambience, attentive staff, exceptional service, delicious Greek food! We highly recommend making reservation in advance!“
“Nisi's atmosphere is immaculate--all white interior and the sounds of beautiful Greek music. The service was great too and they were helpful to tell us that the lemon potatoes are vegan! Menu clearly marked to show vegetarian options. The horiatiki salad and the fresh galaktoboureko were my personal favorites. Food on the pricier end, but then again, it's a whole lot cheaper than a flight to Greece...Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available, but somewhat limited to mezzes (appetizers)“
“My husband and I enjoyed brunch at Paros last month and we were interested to see if dinner would be as good -- and our dinner Saturday night exceeded our expectations. We focused on smaller plates: tuna crudo, hamachi crudo, grilled calamari, zucchini fritters and spanakopita, followed by the orange cake with Greek yogurt gelato. Everything was delicious (my favorite was the grilled calamari). Excellent service, even though the restaurant and bar were quite busy.“
“Amazing food, the spinach pie, greek expresso martini, and the vegetarian moussaka was beyond anything I’d imagine. The hostess Milena was beyond amazing, and the bartender Fausto was very attentive. I will make sure the Citi team is aware about this place.Definitely will be back!“
“The view from this restaurant is absolutely amazing, offering a breathtaking panorama of Manhattan. They have a big market place to showcase their fresh daily seafood, including a variety of fishes, oysters, scallops, scampi, and Carabineros. The atmosphere is great, and the setting is perfect for socializing. If you don't mind the price, it's also a great place for a date. Scallop sashimi, zucchini stack, carabineros was delicious.“
“The hospitality here was amazing and the food was cooked quickly and very well. You choose your seafood, pay and get a table. They’ll bring the items, and you tell them how you want everything cooked. We brought our own wine and were offered a bucket of ice to put it in, and they always checked our table to clear empty plates or see if we needed anything else. You can pay with card but I’d suggest bringing cash for tip.“
“This is one of my favorite spots for Greek food in Astoria and loved getting the chance to experience it for Valentine's Day. Amylos was offering a set 5 course menu and being a foodie, I loved tasting all of it. The ambiance was also amazing, filled with balloons everywhere and the soft scent of roses lingering in the air. A romantic spot made even more so for the occasion. Highly recommend.“
“The gyro tasted like I never left Greece! authentic pork gyro platter with fresh tzatziki and the spicy feta dip was so good !! All their ingredients were so fresh and delicious ! - UPDATE : came back for the bifteki gemisto platter (cheese stuffed beef patty) with salad pita bread, greek fries, and florina red pepper dip ! amazing !!!!!“
“We had an excellent meal. The lamb kabobs were delicious with just the right amount of spice. The brussel sprouts were a stand-out! Our only complaint was that the drinks could be a little more generous. Our server was excellent; very attentive and friendly and made some adjustments for us with no problem.“
“I was at the restaurant on Wednesday, February 21st. Nice atmosphere, background music at the right volume, very friendly staff. Delicious foodI paid USD 70.00 for the main course, a beer and dessert (tiramisu). Everything was delicious. Top included“
“Had a gathering today w approx 30 family and friends, the food from start to finish was beyond SUPERB, they truly deserve Zagat rating. The fried calamari was better than Greece stated by my sister in law who was there in September, antipasto, appetizers, fish, chicken kabob on skewers were tremendous we couldn't get enough we were licking our fingers. I personally would rate them at 10, the owner Jenny is a gem. Will be back to try their grilled Octopus.Parking: Private parking lot in back of building, not a long walk if you know how to park at least 20 cars.“
“Fresh and delicious! I came here based on the Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. If you're looking for a quick, no-hassle but relatively healthy meal in the city (and you'd like to sit down while eating it) this place is great!“
“Tino's is great but they need to find a better way to stagger reservations so they don't make people wait an unreasonable amount of time (with a reservation), and so that diners don't feel rushed because they're taking up space and people who are waiting to die are on top of them. Food is fantastic, the octopus is a must order. The one tip I'll give is to make a reservation and call 1 hour prior to confirm, and maybe call again to 30mins out to let them know your ETA. Otherwise expect to wait 30mins even with a res“
“Always passed by, finally decided to try this place. Ordered online, but when I came in I had to wait for a few minutes, but while I waited the owner gave me food to try and was nice, and the inside has a nice style to it so it's very relaxing to sit. When I got my food, everything was great. The Greek fries has a nice crisp feel, and taste great plain or with the cheese and spices added to them. I had the lamb and beef gyro and the meat has to be one of the best gryo meats I have had: it's soft, juicy and chewy and tastes amazing. Will definitely return.“
“Brought my grandparents for dinner while they were in town visiting and we had the most lovely time! Beautiful decor, delicious food, and an amazing cocktail and wine list. The octopus is incredible, one of my favorite dishes here. Jordan and Sierra were so kind! My boyfriend and I enjoy sitting at the bar for a cocktail to end our night as we live so close. It's the perfect place for family dinners or a date night.“
“We had a great time celebrating a birthday at GRECA. The in-house bakery made their amazingly delicious orange olive oil cake into a birthday cake for my daughter. Amazing wand gluten-free! All the dishes were fresh and tasty. The Spreads appetizer had interesting spreads that were devoured. The lamb chops and chicken souvlaki were perfectly cooked. And the orange oil cake was perfection. The staff were absolutely lovely and very friendly.“
“This restaurant is a MUST!!! Forget Taverna Kyclades. This Greek restaurant has an amazing menu. The food has been consistently delicious. The service has seriously been the best of any restaurant I’ve gone to. You feel like family after just one visit. ❤️“
“I wish there were 10 stars for the review!!! I have never written a review before but this place made me reconsider so here's my first one...Both dine in and take out options are amazing! Delicious food (no matter what we've tried so far), cooked to perfection and full of flavors each time. Everything is fresh (which is very important to me) and made on the spot. Serving is always awesome as well!!!It's definitely worth the trip if you are close (even if you're not) to Bergen County. DO NOT MISS IT!“
“This local spot is amazing!!! Excellent service. Food is great - I highly recommend to have the chicken souvlaki platter. Portions are very filling. You can sit inside or take out and the guys are very welcoming. The sandwiches are also taste!!“
“On a chilly Sunday afternoon Smiley and I dined outside at Village Taverna, heat lamps hung above each table, so we were nice and toasty, the food is outstanding, so is the staff, the atmosphere pleasing, we dined early just before the crowd to get these photos. My wife Smiley rates the Village Taverna 5 Smiles.“
“Went there the other night with a few friends. Service and food was 10/10. Everything came out fast. My friends had the octopus which they loved. I had the lamb chops and a few skewers, also feta Greek fries. Definitely recommend for a traditional Greek food.“
“There are so many Greek places to choose from but we always keep coming back! The food is so delicious and everything is so fresh! Oh and the tzatziki is amazing! Also, the takeout bags always have a really cute drawing, our complements to the artist!“
“We walked by this place yesterday and came back to try it before we left to go back home. I’m so glad we did. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and everything is baked on site and delicious. We had the pastitsio (ground beef, pasta, cheese) that we all loved (parents and 11 y/o) and the frittata with spinach, dill, eggs, and tomato that the kid thought too spicy, but parents thought was perfect and light and fluffy. We also took home some small bakery items for later. The tiropita was fantastic- crispy and even better with a little sugar sprinkled on top.Atmosphere was clean, cozy with a Scandinavian flavor which was cool. 10/10 recommend.Kid-friendliness: Many choices kids would be happy with including Nutella baklava“
“A great place if ur looking for a Hudson yards experience that’s a bit more chill and low key. Food comes as small bites but always consistent and tasty. The Greek wine flights are fun! I prefer this space to the restaurant for a more relaxed vibe.“
“Food and service(Antonio) was tops. Price was exceptionally reasonable. Highly recommended. Porgy and stuffed tomatoes, both very well well made and super tasty. Desert(Galaktobouriko) on the house is not to be passed, even if your full, lol.“
“We had the pleasure of dining at Eleni's Saturday night and it was a wonderful evening. The hostess Sren started the evening on a high note because of her warmth and friendliness. Unfortunately, my reservation had been lost when I did it on Google, but she could not have been more accommodating. She gave us a table that we could spend two hours at without being rushed. The grilled calamari, octopus, and appetizer of dips were all exceptional, as was the waitress we had. Both the waitress and Sren made a point of coming over during the meal to ensure that we were pleased with everything. The ambiance is lovely and is very inviting. I can't wait to return to this restaurant that truly values and appreciates it customers and makes you feel like an honored guest. Thank you to Sren and our waitress for a fabulous night out.“
“The best restaurant in town! This is the only place I want to eat at. The food is always fresh and good, whether we dine-in or order-out. My favorite item to order is one of their soups, lentil and chicken are both very flavorful. I highly “
“The skirt steak was cooked nicely to medium-rare as ordered. It was a nice tasty cut and lightly seasoned. The staff were efficient and knowledgeable. The kitchen crew that brought out the food seemed like he took great care with the food, I appreciated that. The person that served water was super nice and helpful. The only negative for me was the French fries, the fries served to me were soggy and not tasty. It might have just been an off batch. But the mains are so good that I don't even care. Overall great experience, I will be back again!“
“Perfect restaurant in the way that only NYC can deliver. We ate a light late-night after-theater meal, and they easily accommodated dietary restrictions. The ambience is relaxed and professional, and the food was straightforward, but well done, with good ingredients. It was more than possible to eat well and very healthy. The wait staff were really good, though (understandably) they were bringing the evening to a close as it was late. The Manager, Jorvos(?), was charming and attentive (we were celebrating a birthday), and we left feeling like it was the perfect dining experience to have had on a visit to the city to celebrate.“
“We were here for restaurant week and decided to order from that menu. The food was excellent. Service was impeccable. Everyone was very attentive. Very much appreciated our server's recommendations for wine. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place in midtown.“
“We held my wife’s baby shower at this restaurant, and we have ordered from here on multiple occasions. First, the food is phenomenal. From the chicken kebab to the falafel, all of the food is fresh, and seasoned and cooked to perfection.Nora and her team essentially treat the entire restaurant, including patrons, as family. They welcome you with warmth and will work with you to do anything your heart desires, within reason. You will feel so close to Nora from the start that you will likely give her a hug before you leave. The baby shower was a complete success- the restaurant is beautiful without being too much of a spectacle- and even has a tuned piano, which allowed us to have live background music for the event. My wife had a wonderful day, and it was made possible by Nora and all of the great staff at The Bosphorus!Dietary restrictions: Vegan and GF friendlyKid-friendliness: We had 5 kids at the event so they made them chicken fingers and fries to be safe!Wheelchair accessibility: First floor, double door- we had someone in a wide wheelchair. They even walked with the person in the wheelchair holding an umbrella for her!“
“The true "when you're here you're family." They gave us complimentary feta and olives and were very accommodating with an infant! The only downside is that the patio heaters do not sufficiently heat up the area. Even with our parkas on it was cold, and we opted to sit outdoors so the bebe wouldn't disrupt indoor guests.Vegetarian options: Most Greek food is vegetarian except for the "large plates." We only ordered small plates and had plenty to eat.Kid-friendliness: There was a family birthday celebration and our infant, they were very accommodating and friendly. Other places often make children feel like an unwelcome burden/nuisance, not these folks!!“
“What a great night!! Service was impeccable, food was delicious. Cocktails were creative, enjoyed a bottle of Greek wine. Vibe was upbeat and hip. The crowd was young, attractive, ready for a party. Yanni was gracious and welcoming. Will most definitely return!!“
“We had our baby's first birthday party / Korean dohljanchi at Mado and it could not have been more perfect. Aret and everyone at the restaurant were so wonderful to work with. They were happy to work with my requests and made party planning so easy. The space was the perfect size with ample parking for our guests. The food was amazing and everyone raved about the pillowy bread, dips, and entrees. Highly recommend it whether it's for a family meal or event. (Photos by Lisi Halabi Photography)“
“This is one of my favorite places to eat in the whole city. I come here sometimes with my baby and everyone is very nice to us and they’re very accommodating with space for my stroller even though the location is somewhat small. The food is delicious, you cannot miss the spreads. They are AMAZING. The vegetarian bowl and chicken souvlaki are also delicious. If you order coconut water they serve it fresh from a coconut. The staff is super helpful and very kind. I’ve never had a bad experience here, and I love visiting.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and are very accommodating to children.“
“At Central Park and in need of a quick bite? head to Madison Avenue and E 62nd Street. The ideal spot to satisfy your hunger. suitable for modifying meal choices and accommodating all dietary requirements. served hot and fresh, and the food is so delicious that I am at a loss for words. Try it now, and you'll thank me later. 行こう“
“We had just flown in and needed something before heading to a Colbert taping. We had no expectations, but absolutely loved the food. Only thing we didn't love was the sausage and only because it was seasoned in a way that wasn't for us. All of the other meats, sides and sauces were seasoned perfectly, tender, and delicious.“
“I can’t say enough good things about this place. The servers always smile, the food is consistently delicious, and I could literally eat here several days a week. Be sure to try different things on the menu because everything is on point!“
