The problem is the guy was very rude when I was there one time haven’t been there in a while since, but I do plan on going back to try it out one more time. Customer service is supposed to be courteous that’s how you get more customers not by being rude.??‍♀️“

“This place, to me, is such an under-rated, undiscovered gem. Every time we are theremcrowded, we keep expecting it to be way more crowded as it's not a huge place, but the food and service are on par with some of the best tapas places around. And the prices are also Very reasonable too. They are unique, in that they are more Argentinian tapas then Spanish or Basque. So, in addition to favorites like paella, grilled octopus, and patatas bravas, there's also a decent selection of pastas and Italian fair via Argentina. And in warmer weather, the back garden can't be beat. Always fun music playing (often 80s dance or rock hits), homemade sangrias and a finished meal with free shots of Limoncello round out the meal. Friendly, top-notch service too. Let's keep this place going! They'd be worth the wait.“

But … I found the food to be lacking in taste (particularly the Gilda and Kroketas) and the presentation was similar to what my mother would have done. Not bad, just average. I read about its Basque heritage but nothing about the restaurant and food really felt Basque to me (and I lived in Spain for a few years, working in the Basque Country). And more importantly, I found the wine to be middling. Nonetheless, my friend and I had a great time and the service was excellent.“

“Flavorful and satisfying! We started with the Callos, which combined a slightly sweet delectable sauce with astoundingly tender chopped tripe (I would liken it to a savory marshmallow, almost). The chorizo and garbanzo played their part serviceably. We followed it with the Uni Palabok. The uni and caviar were very tasty, and it was nice to try quality ingredients. However, the relative intensity of the sauce somewhat drowned out the more delicate flavors of the uni and caviar.(From my wife who grew up eating Palabok, it is *extremely* elevated)Our last entree was the Lengua de Champinon, and it was phenomenal! The tongue was expertly cooked and wonderfully tender, and the creamy mushroom sauce was a great pairing for it.For dessert, they don't have it listed on the menu yet, but they had some Tres Leches cake available. The cake was perfectly saturated with milk sauce while maintaining it's form, and instead of the standard whipped cream, it had meringue on top which was quite interesting! It was a bit pricey, but the menu is online so that's no surprise.“

The ambiance is sophisticated and intimate, great for a small group of friends or a date. It pains me to give them four stars but I have to because of the service - I swear the waitress looked right at my friend and I waiting for a table and hid in the back. There were plenty of tables, so the bartender asked us if we'd like to sit, and then went and asked her to seat us. I felt like everything we asked for bothered her and I couldn't say thank you enough. Maybe it was an off night for her I'm not sure but from other reviews seems to be a theme. This place came up in my Yelp search so we decided to check it out. Once we were seated and able to check out the menu, we opted for meatballs, the pulpo and cocktails. And the chocolate lava cake to finish. The dishes, drink and dessert we had were great. If the few dishes we ordered tasted that great. I can only imagine how great the rest of the menu must be. It's a cozy, dimly lit but inviting spot. And the service was good. I can't wait to return!“

“Pil Pil gives the complete dining experience! Tapas style allows you to explore a bunch of different dishes and flavors, and they know how to combine flavors! SUCH a cozy atmosphere too, feels like you’re dining in a vineyard. The service is warm and welcoming. The Pan con Tomate was a great starter — perfectly toasted with fresh tomatoes on top. These guys do chorizo right ?? Empanadillas de Puerco y Chorizo and the Spanish chorizo were some of my favorite dishes. Highly recommend trying the chorizo! Mac & Cheese croquetas were bomb! Worth getting for the table. Carne Adobada and fries were delightful — tender, savory skirt steak and I LOVED the seasoned fries and sauce duo. If you’re into coffee, end the meal with the espresso ice cream. It’s the right amount of bitter and creamy.Highly recommend this place for quality food, new flavors, calming atmosphere, and friendly service.“

“My dad first put me on this restaurant by its delicious, fresh takeout food. We'd typically order octopus or whole fish. My parents decided to take us out for our birthday and it was not a disappointment. I felt like I was in Portugal without actually traveling there and it's a home away from home from the moment you walk in.Everyone ordered different entrées and each dish offered a unique, top-quality taste. If you're looking for an authentic Portuguese spot in the Hudson County area, Pic-Nic is your go-to!Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian option available on the menu.Parking: About 11 or 12 parking spaces and street parking is very difficult given the area.Kid-friendliness: While there is no kids menu, there are few options available for children.Wheelchair accessibility: Whether parked in the lot or on the street, you can easily access the lot, entrance and seating area with a wheelchair.“

“My sister & I stumbled upon this place one day and it was the happiest coincidence. We spent part of our childhood in Euskadi país vasco and the food at Cafe Riazor transported us back to our time in Donostia! I swore to my sister it was the most authentic, feels-like-home Spanish food I have had in the US. I took some friends back here and had the exact same experience. Good Spanish comfort food with a nostalgic atmosphere.“

“Easy 5 stars, even with a long wait for the bar… b/c they were fully booked and we came in on a Saturday evening with no reservation at the last minute, so that was COMPLETELY understandable. I’m only mentioning it b/c i recommend getting a reservation and so that if you go, and it’s busy, be prepared to wait, but it is worth worth it! They even brought out two tapas to thank us for waiting it out. The octopus (seared perfectly), and mushroom croquettes were his favorite, while the shishito peppers, and camarones de ajillo were my strong favorites (I needed more bread for the amazing hot garlic olive oil at the bottom). I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you have any interest in Spanish tapa style of food. The potatoes bravas were good, I like mine super crispy so I would ask for that the next time. I had cava this time, but they have some amazing sangria and cocktails.“

“Love love love this place. In my opinion is the best authentic Columbian restaurant. Their mini empanada beef or chicken are a MUST!! You can't have just one. They bake everything onsite. I've had their grilled chicken and it's juicy, plus tostones (fried green plantains) and sweet plantains, salad bowls are amazing! I always look forward to going back. Parking- It's street parking, no meters but it's on a very busy street.“
