“We looked at the long line at the "popular" place down the road. We've been disappointed at so many popular tourist restaurants. We decided on Valley Cafe after reading that it's where the locals eat. The Chili Cheese burger was great. No line, no loud music, no crowd.“

“I always make a point of stopping at the Pepper Pot anytime I drive through Hatch, NM. Why? Because of the delicious authentic New Mexican food, cute outdoor patio dinning, and friendly service. This trip I ordered the steak and enchiladas for lunch and was amazed at the quantity and quality of the steak in particular—cooked just right and oh so flavorful. I can’t wait for my next trip there!“
“Excellent place with friendly staff. I got the green chili and cheese tamales were absolutely delicious. I'm vegetarian and they were very accommodating, recommending the red sauce (green sauce has chicken) for my tamales. The rice and beans are also vegetarian (no lard). My dad got the enchiladas and they were excellent. Tortillas are also great. Can't wait to return.Vegetarian options: Beans and rice are vegetarian (no lard used in beans). Green chili and cheese tamales are vegetarian if eaten with red sauce.“
