“Had a great time, love the restaurant, but the grilled chicken was over cooked this time, required a steak knife to cut through, it is usually tender, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. With that said, a great restaurant, highly recommend it!”
“Hands-down this is the best place for ice cream on the North Fork. During the summer, there are lines down the street to get into this place , so off-season it's a breeze to get the best ice cream or soft serve. Staff are very friendly and I highly recommend this place all year round! Gave it 4 stars bc it lacks ambience (yet you will not care!!). The homemade pistachio ice cream is something you must try . And it is right next door to Funchos, another great local place to frequent.”
“Absolutely loved their baked goods here especially the apple cider donuts. Prices for the baked goods are very good. My family had multiple allergies and I’m glad this place is able to make delicious treats that are allergy friendly.”
“Had a great dinner with friends last night. Service was the best ever and food was excellent! One of the few restaurants we’ve been to that don’t add a credit card fee to your check so we will be back! I gave it a 4 star for atmosphere only because I am not a fan of ultra contemporary decor because it lacks warmth and coziness and I remember that feeling of the ‘ol 2 x 4 restaurant from years past.”
“Just had lunch from A Wing Away Kitchen. The food was excellent, wings cooked perfectly, sauces were incredible. The best part was the staff! The owner gave us a taste of his chicken and rice (absolutely incredible!) and his “not spicys” sauce was better than spicys ever was! If you haven’t checked it out you should have dinner there tonight.”
“The manger Sydney cares so much about her clients and the food is always great and well stocked! Tons of options and you walk in to not an employee but a friend!”
“Fantastic Polish Deli and grocery run by some really nice people. They have a big selection of kielbasa and their prepared dishes are delicious. Their stuffed cabbage was fantastic with so much flavor. The pigs knuckle was also extremely good if you're into that. There was also a large pastry section that I'm going back to check out.”
“Personally I had the Curry and it was GREAT. Some things could use some refining but all it all great atmosphere, good food. One of the better options on the north fork”
“OUR FIRST TIME THERE. IT WAS LABOR DAY AND NOT TOO CROWDED WHEN WE GOT THERE. THE BEER AND CIDER WERE GOOD AND THE ATMOSHERE WAS GREAT. VERY NICE BARTENDERS. THERE WAS A LARGE OUTSIDE AREA WITH PLENTY OF SEATING. ALL IN ALL A NICE PLACE.”
“Unbelievable such amazing cafe does exist on Long Island. Excellent espresso, fantastic and authentic tiramisu and tres leches. This now is our coffee place for eastern LI trips.”
“Met some nice ? people while waiting for a table my Bestie/sister and I. But it was worth the wait!!Hopefully ??we will be back. Met this wonderful guy named Jason would love to see him again ?dag I should’ve taken a picture with him….”
“We spent valentines at one of our favorite local places yesterday, it was really busy our reservation was at 7 the height of dinner rush. We enjoyed every aspect of JC’s from the hostess to the servers to the much needed delicious dinner and ambiance! We started with chicken nachos and garlic bread, main course we had Norwegian lamb chops on a mountain of potatoes yum! I ordered the panko chicken with baby rigatonis peas buratta in a sherry sauce and what a trip to flavor town! The food here never disappoints even when we order takeout it’s always delicious. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner what a lovely hard working lady! All that she does to provide the best experience shines bright through her staff and patrons. We tested out little cheese cakes that were outrageous I don’t even like cheesecake and I ate them at first not knowing what they were. they were creamy and yummy and delicious I didn’t know I could like something so much that I didn’t like anywhere else. The strawberry was Huge and I ate every last bit we were stuffed I had to take home almost half of my dinner which we ate today! Jcs you do a exemplary service to our town thank you for a wonderful night, my pictures don’t do your food justice but I’m posting them anyway lol!”
“Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to allergies restrictions. Everything was cooked to perfection.Parking: Plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: Several tables had kids the servers were very friendly. Everyone that came to the diner seemed to be happy to be there. They seemed like they frequent this place.”
“Went for lunch while in the area and was pleasantly surprised. I did a quick search for gluten free and found this place. My mother has Celiac and was over the moon that she could have anything on the menu! My shakshuka was good, she loved her chicken sandwich. But the star of lunch was the fried calamari. The place is cute and intimate, good music playing. We'll be back next time we're near.”
“Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in Long Island. Super authentic and great portions. Workers were really nice and the restaurant itself was really clean. Will be coming back ?”
“LOVE THIS PLACE! Whenever I'm out east I make it a point to come to this deli for lunch! Everything on the menu is great! The staff is extremely nice, welcoming and friendly. And it is always immaculately clean!”
“The food is excellent and the service is great. I highly recommend this spot. I had the Eggs Benedict with Lox, and it was superb. Their Suasage with gravy is the out of this world.”
“this place was awesome! Great century old/ modern atmosphere with a ton of history.owner owns a bison farm i believe, so the meat if farm fresh.Great drinks, great food, great people.A real gem for the area!”
“From service to presentation to flavor, North Tavern is absolutely wonderful. The Italian Toast appetizer is a great way to start the meal for a salad/bread plate beginning. The Fish Tasting had beautiful presentation and the flavor was phenomenal! Rounding the dinner off with a warm brownie recommended by our server was the way to go! Thank you to the owners, server, and especially to the chefs; my family and I talked about the meal on the way home… until it was too much and then had the change the subject. ?”
“The food was delicious and incredible - plus it came out quick! The atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and pleasant.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free options.Parking: There is a small parking lot directly across the street.Kid-friendliness: Yes, there were many kids here when I was here.”
“Been here a few times and the food is excellent. Made to order. Owner very friendly. Not only is the food good but there is a bakery. Bakery items all made in store. You want good Mexican food try this place.”
“Best place we ate food in Riverhead, hands down. Come as you are and enjoy some good ol' home cooking. Cash only and a super great environment. The food was great. We should have got a roll egg sandwich. ?”
“Came here the first time I visited Rivehead and now I make sure I leave time to visit each time I come back! I l always order sandwiches because they have not yet disappointed! I've brought my whole family as well as friends here and every single person has LOVED it. The place is family owned and it looks probably a lot like it did when it first opened. So cute and old fashioned. Also, I love their egg creams and their chocolate shakes! Definitely worth ordering. Everything is reasonably priced and just perfectly made. It's just nice to have some simple foods perfectly made! Highly recommend to anyone in town for the day. (Hours are unpredictable so just give them a call before heading over, but honestly it's part of the charm, it's a family place!)”
“While in town for a few days we stopped here because I had a Groupon for a flight of 4 five oz beer/wine option. The place was kind of tucked away but had outdoor and indoor seating. The bartender helped us right away and we picked our 4 options and sat outside. They had some games indoor to play and it was pet friendly. Only takeaway was the very small amount of cider beer options on the menu other than that it was good.”
“We had two beer flights. Great price and great staff! So friendly. Live music. The beer is very good, they brew it there. The pretzel was really good too. Used the Habitat for Humanity card. What a deal. Go see them! Tell 'em Barsnobs sent ya!”
“Awesome Local Shop!I go here with my family and friends a lot and their service is always phenomenal along with the atmosphere!Kid-friendliness: This place is very good and friendly for kids it has a fun atmosphere and other kid friendly things.”
“Visited On the Docks for dinner during a quick getaway to Aquebogue and was really impressed with the food and service. I wish I could remember our server’s name, but he was exceptionally pleasant and attentive, without being annoying. The food was great too. We had the oysters (which were very fresh) and duck wings to start and then split a fried seafood platter and everything was delicious and well prepared.”
“I got so drunk! They say it must have been good it you can't remember ? The owner is Portuguese, he gave us his secret private bottle. When he found out my friends n I speak Portuguese . Come w friends taste everything. Great place to hang w friends.”
“What a little treasure in Riverhead! Delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere right on the Peconic River. The Chicken Adana was beautifully presented. I also had a small Chicken Lemon soup, which was flavorful and filled with chicken. I highly recommend! Very nice family who run the eatery too !!!”

“I tried the crumble cake and the almond raspberry cookies. Both are incredible! I ate the whole cake in one sitting. It looked like a single portion but I was full after, yet it wasn’t so heavy that I regretted my decision. Most importantly all the ingredients they use are clean because they make everything from scratch. Nothing weird you’d see in mass produced sweets. I met the owners and they are great people. I’ll definitely need to order some more cookies to ship home to Chicago.”
