“My husband and I have been curious about Virgola Wine Bar since we moved to Patchogue, but never got a chance to stop in as we were unfamiliar with their hours. For my birthday this year, my husband suggested going to check it out (this was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving) and they had a Wednesday special going on which was half off wine bottles. We figured we would grab a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine and just relax. And that's exactly what we did! We tried a couple of samples of wine before landing on the Sangiovese red wine, which was absolutely delicious. We grabbed the bruschetta- Classico ($12) and three of our favorite cheeses (burrata, parmigiano reggiano, and raschera) which were reasonably priced ($8 each), and the portions that were given made that price totally worth it. Everything we ate was tasty and we couldn't even finish the cheeseboard between the two of us which we can normally do so we definitely left full and happy. We did run out of bread at one point but just we asked for more and they brought it right over. The vibe in there is very calm and relaxing. There were several people in there but everyone seemed to be unwinding and hanging out with friends so that was nice. It's dimly lit so it definitely gives those city wine bar vibes. I will definitely be bringing some of my friends to Virgola! Just need to find the right day since they have daily happy hours/promotions.Check it out for sure!“

The owner assured me that this was a one-off and that they have a high standard of pizza and made it right with me after my lack-luster purchase. I figured let me try another type in case the pepperoni just isn’t good at this place. I said I would go back and try it again and I did. I tried something sort of different— half pep and half Buffalo chicken. What a difference! I mean, this pizza is by far some of the best I’ve had on Long Island! Trio deserves 10 ⭐'s for both.This restaurant handles two types of food service, restaurant seating and catering for small to large parties. I've now experienced both. My most recent was a repast after a funeral. When everyone is emotional, the last thing the family needs is problems with the food service. Well, in our case, more people showed up than were originally expected. The staff at Trio didn't miss a beat. They set up additional tables in a flash and quickly had the tables set. We had buffet style dining and the selection was outstanding, with something for everyone. From soup to nuts, everything was delicious. They had fish, beef, vegetarian selections and even offered coffee and dessert. (by the way, if I had known how good the desserts would've been, I might have eaten a little less dinner.)The service is impeccable, everything is clean and fresh, the linens and tablecloths were spotless.I'd like to add that Trio is on the grounds of the Holbrook Country Club. I really thought this was just a pizza parlor- but let me tell you, from the table bread with Tuscany oils and herbs, to the main course, this was by far one of the BEST experiences I’ve had eating out at an Italian place. The fettuccini Alfredo was excellent, the penne a la vodka was also excellent- pastas cooked perfectly and well-sauced with freshest ingredients. . Even the house salad was fresh and perfectly balanced with dressing, not too much, not too little.But that’s not the highlight of the night. The Manicotti dish was one of the best I’ve ever had. Delicate pasta shell cooked magnificently, in a homemade sweet marinara with fresh melted mozzarella on top…you ask yourself- with a beautiful presentation like this could it get any better? Well, the ricotta inside blended slightly with fresh herbs and cooked exactly to perfection, was the creamiest Ive ever known a manicotti dish to be. I work every day in NYC and can tell you this dish was better than most restaurants downtown. Clearly a 10/10 with a friendly staff and a clean environment, I had no idea this gem of a restaurant existed outside of the 5 boroughs. Apps came out hot and well cooked. A large menu selection and everyone was pleased. Kids portions plentiful. The adult portions as well came out hot and food was fresh. “I had a visitor from the city come out for Christmas Day and she asked that I pick up a La Famosa chicken parmigiana hero which is wrapped in pizza dough for her lunch. I got a pizza pop roll (shown) and they were both so generously filled that neither of us had a single bite that was only dough. Very satisfying Christmas lunch!“
“This place has a very small parking lot of its own, but there's street parking available. The inside is spacious and has space for large tables, nice lighting, comfy chairs, and a huge bar. Servers were attentive but not hovering, brought out breadbaskets and water r8ght away. All the dishes we got were very good, and the portions were very generous. Some of the dishes were on what I'd normally consider serving trays. The seafood was cooked just right, the shrimp were large and cooked to a nice bite. The mussels were big and cooked to perfection and not shriveled up. The meat was nicely seasoned and cooked it to medium rare like I asked. They also recommended a bottle of wine which was pretty good, we had 2. Overall, this was a hit and we're definitely coming back.“

We were seated in a side room off the bar, which initially concerned us, since we thought it might affect our service. I'm happy to report that service was wonderful! Our waitress, Zoe, was friendly and efficient, and she bent over backwards to make sure Dennis' birthday dinner was perfect. We use our Foodie card to get a discount, and we have the Butera's "frequent diner" card, which accumulated points based on the amount of our dinner. I also purchase gift cards at a slight discount at Costco, so all in all, it's an excellent value. Oh, and the food is amazing!!!“
