“Forget bout everywhere else. Joe’s is the place to go. Mozzarella is the best - light airy milky and when you ask for unsalted you get unsalted. Only problem is that they run out of items if it’s later in the day. So go early.“

The menu is cheap and many options, the portions are huge, and everything is fresh! we were in town from Buffalo NY and had to stop in to grab a hero I got the Sicilian which was chicken cutlets, sliced boar's head ham, and fresh mozzarella on freshly baked Italian bread for the trip back home. “Been a customer for about 4 months now. I am yet to be disappointed by their food. Delicious Mexican food as well with their excellent seasoning. Customer service is extremely friendly and you feel right at home and with a great family vibe going on. Their prices could be a little bit better I guess; specially if you pay with credit/debit, but overall I’d rather keep coming here for breakfast and lunch than any other place on City Island. Try a breakfast sandwich with chorizo or their Mexican Tortas.“

“I walk by this place everyday and stopped in one day to try the food because I was hungry and just got off the train. I was hesitant at first because I read the reviews and people complained about the food and service. I wanted to try for myself and see.

The place is clean and well organized. They also have plenty of menu items. I ordered the steak and cheese with pepper jack cheese and everything on it and a side of fries.
The cook was attentive and friendly. The steak and cheese was probably the best that I have had since I moved back to NYC.. I just moved from Florida.

The fries were not as good though which is why I took away a star. I love French fries and they tasted like they were warmed up or something. I also bought some snacks and they had some healthy selections for snacks which is a plus.

The cashier was also friendly and also attentive.

Overall it was a good experience and I will probably be back. The location is the best.
My only suggestion would be to elevate the French fries.“

“Sal has sold out and gone up North but the workers like Shorty have stayed on with the new owners, prices have gone up, but the grill is still pumping out great hot eats, but stay away from the fries and deep fried stuff as the oil often looks like motor oil, at least walk over to the back and observe the color before you think about the fries, otherwise it's a great place for a hot or cold sandwich and a drink“

“Excellent! The Best! I have been ordering from Barino's for years. However, this most recent order was OUTSTANDING! All of the guests absolutely LOVED the Danny Boy sandwich. Days later and I'm still hearing how delicious the Danny Boy was! The chicken parmigiana was the BEST chicken parmigiana I've ever had for a catered event. The chicken was tender and there was a generous amount of sauce and cheese. Plenty of fresh dinner rolls, pickles, salads. I highly recommend choosing Barino's Market for your next event!“

“This is a great deli. The place is modern and has a wide selection. There is coffee, milk, and sandwiches. It's close to a school. They even have slushies and a freezer. I like this deli the most on the main street. It's a great deli.

“We only ordered catering service from them for our daughter wedding few years ago , and couple of times for the big gathering last year and this year. They have a great catering menu. The owner and stuff were always helpful with choice and quantity we needed. They also accommodate special requests regarding allergies and dietary restrictions. Food is absolutely delicious and prices are very reasonable. And they have pretty extensive menu. This is our place to go if we have a big gathering. They never disappoint! Definitely recommend. Just make sure that you talk to the owner or someone who handles catering.“

“Hi I like coming to this deli, as it's an old fashioned deli. In my area deli's, when you order a sandwich, roast beef or a ham and cheese. You only get a couple of slices of cold cuts. But I take a drive to Nonna's and order a sandwich. It's a nice thick section of cold cuts. Like back in the day. Please note, the price reflects it, but when you have an urge for a good sandwich. Not only is he if not the best chef, one of the best in NYC, he's an effin machine; fast, efficient, friendly, and passionate about his art.
