“5 stars are not enough to tell you how good this place is. We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

“This place is astoundingly good from top to bottom. The hostess Carla was amazing. Our server was next level. The clams casino is one of the best dishes I’ve had in my twenty years in New York hands down. Don’t sleep on the prawns or the lobster orzo. My only complaint possible is the portions are a little small but GOD DANG are they delicious. The burger is very tasty but maybe not worth the price but everything else is truly unfathomably scrumptious. Been here twice now. Plan on being back as much as my wallet can handle it.“

I moved here from Texas a year ago and love everything about the city (except for the rent), but I do miss Tex Mex and good tortillas. New Mexican is its own cuisine and sure hits the spot while also being healthier, and those tortillas are a game changer. When planning the trip, Colonie caught my eye so we decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did, because it quickly turned into the absolute highlight of our trip and was an evening we won’t forget. The service is outstanding - each individual host made us feel like family. We were never short beverages, and our space at the chefs table was kept tidy at all times - no empty plates left behind. The sous chefs are impossibly talented at what they do and gave every single plate attention and care before it left their sight. And lastly, the Chef is a true artist and extremely kind, humble person. We were delighted when he walked over to pay a visit as it was our anniversary dinner. “Gator is a standout restaurant. Definitely in the running for best brunch in Greenpoint. I’m absolutely shocked that this place isn’t full to the brim every weekend. Every item on their menu is carefully devised, unique, and created to a very high standard. Their green eggs and ham are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Full of flavor, perfectly cooked. The flatbread?? “I recently had a delightful dining experience at Leland Eating and Drinking House in Brooklyn. Starting with a refreshing porter beer from the tap, I then savored the incredible Japanese sweet potato, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The highlight of the meal was the Porchetta Sandwich with ZA'ATAR CHIPS. Encased in their soft and freshly made bread, the sandwich was a symphony of flavors, perfectly complemented by the crispy and tasty house-made chips. Each bite was a testament to their commitment to using high-quality ingredients and crafting memorable dishes. “I wasn’t going to give 5 stars because that egg sando was mid. But that anchovie laced Caesar salad and those crispy edges on those pancakes AND the amazing service all made it worth it! 30 minute wait for Sunday brunch which turned out to be 20 minutes or so, followed by the perfect outdoor seating was clutch. Shouts to the hostess with the dope vintage cowboy boats too!
We’ll be back for that pork shoulder for dinner.
