“A cool local bar. our waiter/bartender was so sweet ? wish I could remember her name. We had mozzarella sticks, dirty tater tots, and teriyaki garlic wings. Portions were big ! Flavor on point. We had Jack and cokes that were perfect ! May not look like anything when you walk in, but don't judge a book by its cover! I almost did, and I'm glad I didn't. The tables had all New york sports teams. Sorry, I missed that because I would have picked the Knicks one, lol. Thank you for a great time and great bar food.“

“I ordered the porchetta sandwich. It looked better than it tasted. The ciabatta was not a true ciabatta and did not go with the sandwich. The porchetta was just crisped up pork belly and was skimpy on the portion considering the price of the sandwich. The waitress said I can substitute the fries for any of the sides but didn't state there would be an upcharge. There was tiny fine print under the sandwiches that says they'll be an upcharge but it's very easy to overlook. I opted for the warm cabbage side which was very tasty and would order again.My friend ordered the beet salad and that looked amazing. I'd suggest trying that and if I go again I'll order that instead.Lastly, the water glass had lipstick on it. I wasn't wearing any. When I asked for a fresh and clean water glass, there was no acknowledgement about the lipstick, even after I pointed it out. That was unprofessional, in my opinion as a former waitress and bartender.Overall, will I go back? Eventually, yes but it's towards the bottom of the list of things to do.“

“The ambiance of Raconteur was just perfect. For that brief 1.5hr dinner, I was transported to a cozy, warm and inviting place. The service was excellent (I even shared our server that her aura was glowing). Since we were doing vegetarian that night, we had the spicy shrooms (flavorful, but a little too chewy for me). Then we tried 2 other entrees that I cant remember the names but the taste was unforgettable, one had had honey on it and the other arugula- the bread, folks will make you rethink Keto- reminds me of home made bread. There were fish & meat entrees as well. Go for the vibe, and be transported and renewed. So glad I found this little gem.“

“Wowsa what a meal!!! Friends had posted beautiful pics of their meals from their tasting menu. It's cute: half the restaurant is a traditional dining room and the other is take out fish and chips. You can have a delicious meal a la carte or the tasting menu. I could not convince my husband to do the 15 course chef's tasting menu. But we did do the tasting menu with wine. Every dish was light, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed the wine pairings which were different (portuguese and spanish wines rounded out some American and South African wines). I am excited to come back to try more of their traditional menu and their namesake (fish and chips). Well worth a visit.“

“Situated in an old ammunition depot, the recently renovated first class, or "firstie", club has a much more exclusive and bespoke feeling than the days of yore. Gone are the sticky floors, the dripping roof from the back room, the broken foosball tables, the jukebox that seemed to host only various versions of the song, "Wagon Wheel", or the bartenders that would serve you a pitcher of Jack and a pitcher of Coke on a Thursday just because you asked for it. taco Tuesday and wing Wednesday are pretty popular, as is Thursday evening following spirit dinner when the place is packed with the sons and daughters of slum and gravy. Extensive selection of beer on tap, and the menu is generally very good. Their version of a clucking Russian is as good and attempt at re-creating perfection as I have seen. Worth a visit.“

I had to tell the band we couldn't hear either singer until the second set when it was adjusted . “Great spot!!! This place is easy to drive right past but it's definitely worth checking out. Professional friendly staff, nice decor with art the pays homage to the local Westchester area, and the food is delicious. This place definitely has its "regulars", but I've never felt unwelcome. Check this place out if you find yourself in the Thornwood area. Enjoy!“

“Number 1 restaurant in Mahopac. I recommend stopping by and grabbing a nice bucket of beer. The buckets are ice cold and have plenty of room for beers; perfect for a nice bucket of beer. They have other stuff too, but the buckets of beer is what keeps me coming back. Get over there now and get yourself a bucket of beer.“

“Char is a great place to eat. Incredible attention to detail, service is great even at a busy time. Great cocktails - Fizzy Peach! Not in the menu any more but they’ll still make it. You’ll see the man who runs the place everywhere shaping everything that’s happening all the time. Runs a tight ship but staffed properly so they have the time to do a good job. Men’s room is in perfect condition always - looks and smells new. You know that if that is so right then all the things you can’t see must be perfect too.“

“The new owners are basically doing their best to try to create a little music venue on the weekends. Jungle Love was on tonight and the place was hopping. We've eaten here a couple of times in the food's been good. I was a little disappointed in the chicken scarp as the potatoes were cold in the middle was kind of strange. “I took my daughters there for a 7 year old birthday party. It was cool for the kids, and the pizza was good. I would have liked some more game options, especially since they have a sports bar section for adults. They also have an axe throwing setup as well. Part of this place is under renovation. I was last here about 20 years ago but to be honest, like most, I have zero reason to ever be in Verplanck. This evening I was down there and made the immediate decision to dine-in the second I saw their big sign on Broadway. The place looks basically the same as I remember, very neat, clean and of course with a stellar menu. I observed Carmine (at the bar) preparing some amazing looking cocktails! Great service, well priced, friendly staff and great dishes! One thing I want to point out is how the first forkful of my cold antipasto salad appetizer immediately tasted soooo different. I wasn't expecting fresh, 'sharp' provolone -- no sliced ham here kids. Tonight was an unexpected treat! I will again grab my passport and cross the border into Westchester to spend more time here! “Great dive bar that I stopped at spontaneously after walking around Peekskill. Ordered the French Onion soup and a cheeseburger with fries. Food was great (although I prefer swiss cheese on my F.O.S. and not provolone) and the bartender was very nice, too. It was fun chatting with her. The place was empty (for lunch anyway) but I didn't mind as I don't like crowds. It was me and another guy at the bar. He was annoying but she handled him well. I'm guessing this is more of a nighttime hangout, but I definitely liked the vibe here.“
