“We had the best experience ever with this bakery - the cake was included in our venue pricing through this bakery, and I can definitely see why! Working with Alison to schedule and have our tasting, which was just down right fun...(because of COVID we had to take our samples home... and she loaded us up with some extras to share with friends) to showing her our vision for the cake on the day of, and then actually SEEING and EATING it at our wedding was perfect all the way through. They really incorporated everything we asked for, and it was simply delicious!!! “A lovely, sunny and delicious respite from the cares of the world... How wonderful to find a place that serves top notch vegan fare--both sweet and some savory offerings too. Loved the rainbow cookies, Jamaican Patty and the black cake. The layer cakes are spectacular as well. Coffee, tea, chai, cappuccino--just some of the hot drink offerings to go with your treats. The owners are most congenial and welcoming, serving you with utmost care and attention. The bakery is light and airy with several tables to dine at. Located across the street from the Glen Oaks library on Union Turnpike, there is ample street parking as well as the large parking lot located behind the bakery. There is convenient access to public transportation too: the Q36 and Q46 stop steps away. My family and I truly enjoyed our time at Rose Valley bakery and cannot wait to do so again!“

“Without a doubt the closest cooking to remind me of home. Catfish and Shrimp pivots was amazing. Crawfish Etoufee, chicken and sausage gumbo and chicken sausage and shrimp jambalaya was spot on. “Had an amazing time there as the owner is so personable and aims to have a “small cafe in Connecticut kind of feel” which I definitely got. She really works to personalize your orders and is willing to try new recipes. I got the chocolate chip and strawberry cheesecake, apple cinnamon muffins, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate mousse, chocolate chip cookies , double chocolate cookies, and bloodies which all tasted incredible! “I had the regular slice, Grandma and Upside Pizza. WOW to all 3. The best one by far was the upside down pizza. The tomato sauce was so fresh. The cheese was amazing. “Bring back the original yogurt with granola and berries please! The new container is smaller and has more plastic so it’s harder to mix everything. There’s also less fruit and the granola is different too! The lemon and peach infused choices don’t hold a candle to the original formula. Keep them for customers who like them AND bring back what was always selling out ?“

“The cookies here are to die for! Surprisingly they also sell donut holes. And for the price, variety, and taste they are an absolute must! I got one of each flavor, and each one was better then the next. Like..Tim hortons and dunkin who? Hahaha. For only $15 we got a mini carrot cake, a dozen donut holes, and a large sprinkle cookie. What a deal! The shop is so quaint and they have so much to choose from. You can even get dog treats, edible cake decorations prepacked loaf cakes and cookies.Even though they take credit cards, they have an ATM inside for convenience. So if you're trying to hop on the RVC train and need cash, you can quickly open in.Parking is metered street parking. There is more parking on the one way street around the corner, if you can't find one in the front.“

“Had the bacalao fritters as an appetizer. They had small shards of bone in them. We each pulled bones out of our mouths. My friend ordered the cod named after restaurant. Had bones. No where in menu does it tell you that their plate is BONE IN. Made meal unpleasant.I had lamb chops. I must say they were thinnest lamb chops ever anywhere. Usually they’re 3 double chops in every place I’ve had them. Here they’re 4 single chops so thin you can’t get them medium rare as I ordered. I’d say go but ask lots of questions.“

“To start, they seat you with a tray of tortilla chips and 2 types of dipping sauces which were both flavorful and delicious. First we ordered the loaded plantain, then for tacos we got the cauliflower, chicharron and shrimp and we got the chicken burrito bowl and chicharron burrito bowl, all delicious. If this place wasn't so far from our home it would be a regular. Great place, definitely try.“

“Ordered the oatmeal raisin cookies as a Christmas gift for my husband. And they are delicious that homemade taste like mom used to make! Shipped when expected order was just delayed a couple days because of massive USPS delays before the Christmas holiday. They even threw in some nice chocolates that was a nice perk and not expected. “Celebrated our daughter's 6th birthday with 5 of her friends. The service is always excellent, but today they were exceptional with helping make the breakfast special. “Honestly this is one of the best spots I’ve ever found I don’t think any crepes are better then this the Lychee romantic is truly different the rose custard they is amazingly flavorful , they also put a lot of lychee which I love, and hint of pistachio is a perfect add, then personally I add strawberry’s to complete the flavor and bring it all together“

“As far as my husband and I are concerned one of the best, if not the best bakery. Been stopping by for years and never had a complaint. We had apple pie, chocolate babkah, various Danish, cookies. I love the chocolate cigars. Staff is always pleasant and helpful, no matter how busy they are. If it is a holiday, go early or reserve ahead of time.“

“Went there for the first time and bought the scones. They were super fresh and great texture. The honey/goat cheese - it was very good, but didn't get much of the goat cheese. Bacon/cheddar, which had a subtle corn bread flavor and bacon bits were really good not salty, but again there wasn't much in the way of cheese. Third was the lemon raspberry or some berry and that was good too! The server was very nice, helpful, and space is tiny but super cute. This is a great food option for a neighborhood with not too many freshly made options so we need to do our best to support it.“

“It is the most complete gluten-free menu of Italian favorites. Sauce is great. Everything we've ordered has been very good. Never get bored because there are so many choices. This was a pull apart cupcake with yummy delicious flavors and just as tasty as it was beautiful. In my heart I didn't want anyone to eat it - it was so beautiful lol. The cupcakes had various flavors- they give you many options. Check them out. This will forever be my go to place for delicious cakes and desserts.“

“A must visit spot for all empanada lovers. A wide variety of empanada wrapping to choose from and an even wider selection of fillings. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Plenty of vegetarian options as well.Sadly no indoor seating available, so have to eat it outside if you want to enjoy it piping hot.“

“We had a small group of people over on Sunday for an impromptu birthday party and decided to give this family owned restaurant a shot. What a GREAT choice! Each entree was fresh, filling and flavorful. The pizza slices were tasty and the garlic knots were perfect. On top of this, everyone, there is just so nice and giving. Villa Formia will definitely be our new go-to!“
