“I have loved this place since it first opened in the early 2000s, I believe it's a staple in the community now. Affordable pizza that always has that free pie. I recently visited here again since I no longer live in the area and you know how many businesses have changed after COVID? This remains the same as I remember. Go here you won't be dissatisfied.”

“I used to spend my time on campus, especially the Benjamin S. Rosenthal Library and Klapper Hall (art building). The campus hasn't changed much. I recently visited the campus. It is still as peaceful as before and it is still clean on the quad. It is about 30 minutes from Main Street, Flushing. The commute is a bit difficult in my opinion because of the construction on Main Street, but there are a couple of buses that go to the campus Q17, Q25, and Q34, to the main entrance. It is nice walk around the campus.”

It’s cozy, comfortable and you can see some of the kitchen action as well as chat with fellow diners. The chef came out and helped us pick out a great bottle of wine. I use a wheelchair, which is what first attracted me to going to Contento. I appreciate feeling included. I’d say it’s easily some of if not the best shrimp I’ve ever had in my life. The whole menu just compliments itself from the Calabrian chili butter to the wagyu steak. Also, Sitting in the back of the restaurant is such a cool experience because you get to watch the chefs work their magic on that wood fire grill. “I think this place is great. Especially for a date night too. The Temaki they serve is great for a 2 bite situation, making it really easy to share between 2… if that’s your thing. To be honest, coming here and getting the classic & signature is just as $ as getting delivery sushi, maybe a bit more expensive but it’s worth it. High quality ingredients & thought out flavors.Personal favorite temaki is the XO scallop. The whole entire restaurant is gluten free by the way, so that might win a lot of people over. The interior & vibe is definitely for a certain demographic and will become aged out within maybe a year or two. The interior is on the same note of that Tend instagram dentist place, and that’s not a compliment. The music they play reminds me of what they would play at like a retail store.Dietary restrictions: The entire restaurant is gluten free & can help gluten intolerance with their meal.”

The store has variety of dashi for you to try (also vegan options) and also allows you to create your own, which is super fun and educational. They have a lot of imported japanese products + meal, which could be a bit pricy; however, consider you dont have to fly to Japan to get them, they are acceptable and worth try at least once. The atmosphere is super nice. Nice lighting/furnitures and everything. The staffs were also super informative and could help you in a lot in making decisions toward unending dashi ingredients.”

You need to know what to order in this place, otherwise, the dining experience could be unpleasant to your palates. The ribs in the cage looked fun but not impressive while eating them. The bathrooms were super unpleasant. It is a publicly shared bathroom and is poorly managed.Vegetarian options: There were not a lot of vegetable dishes here, but decent selections. “When you walk into the place, you can smell the aroma and you’ll immediately realize why this place is rated so highly. We got the goat dum biriyani, and it might be the best biriyani we’ve ever had, as it was truly authentic (they cut it open in front of you) and was jam-packed with flavor. A lot of biriyanis go light on the rice flavors; this one definitely didn’t - we felt ourselves devouring the biriyani INCREDIBLY fast. Our waiter kept checking in on us, and we had fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly service. We also got the chicken vindaloo, and it was very good and spicy, which we enjoyed. We were there near closing, and we didn’t feel rushed at all, and it was heartwarming to see the chefs and staff all sit and eat together after the kitchen had closed, joking and having fun. 10/10 would recommend - this is a hole in the wall joint worth repeat visits - you can feel a sense of kinship the second you enter!”

“What a great place. I went here spontaneously for my birthday because a friend suggested it. It was totally worth it.We started with the Antipasto plate, then went to the vegan pasta bollente pizza, what I didn't realize at the time came with a pretty spice chilli, and finish with a bread pudding slice. We also had a couple of cocktails, which made the bill a little pricey, but if you didn't have drinks, it would be pretty affordable. The Antipasto plate was a great addition to the meal. The meats were scrumptious and the accoutrements added exactly what you would want for a antipasto plate. $24The Patata bellente was really good but if you don't like spicy food, steer clear of this one. I thought the potatoes would help subside the spice, but it was still very spicy. If you like spice this is the one for you. $18I can't remember what the bread pudding cost or even seeing it on the menu, but it was outstanding!!! Not to sweet, not too bready, it was just a bit of joy with every bite.Id definitely come back, and not just for a special occasion.”
