“After having enjoyed Bersi's eye-poppingly large platters that feed 3-4 people for $20-60 in total, not even Ras's lunch special ($18 bowls) seemed like a good deal. I did prefer the collard greens at Ras over Bersi's though. (Too bad I didn't try the injera at Ras for a comparison.) All that said, I did enjoy the Bole Bowl: the crunchy soy crumbles were a fun textural element, and the avocado injected creaminess into the mix. FYI, they have a couple of beverages with honey: honey wine and hard kombucha. Updated from previous review on 2024-04-08“

“The best brunch plate that I've ever had. And I don't speak that easily. Felt like I was eating a dinner entree for brunch - in a good way. Duck pastrami hash & poached eggs, caramelized onion, parsley salsa verde & local greens. Poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the salsa was great. The duck and the hash was other worldly. Tons of duck. In almost a stew of small potatoes perfectly softened. In some type of gravy. Wow. Even the greens are great. Nice light dressing. Almost salty. Service was friendly and attentive. My daughter said her avocado toast was excellent. I don't make it to Brooklyn that frequently but can't wait to go back to this great spot. I didn't drink that day but they had a nice looking and well stocked bar.“

Many waiters were serving us and they were constantly checking if we needed something. They were refilling out waters all the time and it was just very polite. What was interesting is the "daily special menu", the waiter was standing their reading about the daily special for like at least 5 mins and we had to stop him from continuing. Either way, we got the bucatini cacio e pepe and it was very yummy. My husband got the veal and it was not the most photogenic dish, but tasted much better than it looked. We also got the octopus, which was soaked in balsamic, also very nice. Overall a very nice traditional Italian place.“

Almost doubled back for another one it was so good (self restraint won).Delicate, flaky, caramelized crust. Fluffy, light, moist pull-apart center. I usually find glazed pastries too sweet, but this one was perfect - just sweet enough to hit the spot but not too sweet that it feels heavy. The balance of flavors is just right. They have wifi but it's super intimately spaced and I feel like I'm going to break my neck on those stairs, this place is short people friendly.Food: tastiest chicken Empanada I've had in awhile that isn't from the Criollos chain. It was juicy without being wet and flavorful. Wepa!!!!Drinks: my buddy got the Tres Leche and I had fomo because that thing was GOOOD. Drank half of hers lol. I got an iced Coquito latte because I'm a sweaty human even in winter and it helped regulate my temp but the taste was just OK. Her drink was hot and I was happy to sweat for it.Note: the iced drinks come in those clear bags with a straw like when Covid started allowing people to drink out of plastic bags from bars. We went to pick her kid up from tennis and I looked like an unhinged day drinker trying to relive spring break.Misc: Stopped by with a buddy to wait for tennis to let out over on 1st ave. “KCBC Brewery stands out as a beacon for beer aficionados, boasting an expansive space that instantly welcomes you with its warm and inviting vibe. The sheer size of the place allows for a diverse crowd, from casual drinkers to serious hop heads, all finding their niche in this vibrant atmosphere. The selection of beers is nothing short of amazing, with each brew showcasing the craftsmanship and passion of its creators. From rich, robust stouts to crisp, refreshing lagers, there's something for every palate. The vibe is lively yet relaxed, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day or kickstart a night out with friends. However, there's a catch—KCBC's focus is solely on their brews, meaning snack options are non-existent. While this might be a slight downside for those looking to pair their pint with a quick bite, the quality and variety of the beers on offer more than make up for it. It encourages guests to immerse themselves fully in the tasting experience, perhaps even prompting a visit to local eateries before or after. In essence, KCBC Brewery is a must-visit for its exceptional beers and the nice vibe it offers, even if it means planning your snacks elsewhere.“

This dish came with two slices of bread which was enough for the big blob of cheese. + Marinated Olives: these were delicious and were fun to eat with our drinks + Little Gem Salad: this salad was refreshing, crunchy, and delicious. + Margherita Pizza: a basic margherita pizza done well. The crusts were also divulged (that's when you can tell the pizza is good). +Ice Cream Sandwich: we ended our dessert with their recommended sticky bun and ice cream dish. This was delicious and well worth the try. They tried to market it as a cinnamon roll but it is definitely much better than that. The staff was fun. The portion size is laughable though.... like 3.5-4oz. Prices are about $1-2 higher than you expect for each item. Fried chicken sandwich is starting to taste like it's fried in old oil. And on the BLP website delivery is free BUT you are still hit with a $3.50 "service fee", which is the restaurant's for using a delivery service. But on Grubhub+ the same service fee applies AND prices food is higher! So even with free delivery it will be higher. I ended up paying over $40 for food for 1. “I have been coming to this establishment since it was legit a box on the block. If you walked too fast you'd miss it...and I'm so excited and impressed on how they've transformed to become such edgy, dateworthy and "Instagrammable" sit down dining restaurant.Prices & Food: very reasonable, includes lunch time specials that won't dent the pockets. I haven't had all of the dishes on the menu but the ones that I have had I enjoyed. I ❤️ the fact that they stay true to their roots regarding heat levels. They don't dummy it down for us NYers..you came there remember! On the flip..they should stay true to their roots and not serve fried chicken wings the way we do up here. That was a miss ?Cleanliness: ? they nailed it! The bathroom decor is something I'd be inspired to copy and VERY clean, smells good, etc. I hold a sanitation certificate so EVERYWHERE I go I'm looking in corners, looking at the ceiling, under the tables..I need to know my area is clean to enjoy my food! 5stars!Service: No complaints. Each server has been attentive and patient; never really hovering to rush me and my party out so much appreciated ?I would very much recommend coming here. Nice for a solo date or bring a party. The place is inviting and seats about 40 people in total I believe. Warm months brings outside dining, never done it, but it looks ?Wheelchair accessibility: Establishment provides outdoor dining and has a ramp! Thoughtful!“

“I wanted to come to Ammazzacaffe for a while. One of my friend told me that they have a great wine list and authentic Italian food. Last night was a good day to go so because of they have a limit of seats I made a reservation before I go. I have a glass of Toscana Rosso and because it is happy hour I get two for one. That is awesome! I order pasta so I only have Sea Trout Tartare as an appetizer. I love that they make it sour and taste so delicious. Quadrotti and Reginette are very good and perfect cooked pasta. Service is nice and friendly. I enjoy so much of this meal. I will probably come back when the weather is warmer.“

“Took our puppy here and we had a blast. Got a chance to relax and not have to keep an eye on him while he socializes with other dogs/puppies. They have plenty of cleaning supplies and sanitizers if any dog goes to the bathroom inside. The food surprised me by how good it was. They also have an array of doggy toys, snacks and ice creams.“

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. This was our second time here and it has quickly become one of our goto places in Astoria. From the greeting at the door to the selection of great wine and cocktails- all unique because the are craft brews- to the staff answering our many questions about the very different and delicious menu to the quality of the food- an awesome experience. Last week we were there and enjoyed live jazz and the musicians mingled and talked with us. The decor is very comfortable. Looking forward to attending the special event nights, too. See you next week- if not before!!“

“Stop by with a couple of friends on a Friday night, place is warm and welcoming. Started with a Negroni which was spot on, had hummus platter which was the best in NYC so far, falafel which was bigger in size than the known falafel but yet very tasty. My friend raved about the cauliflower, but the star was the smoked lamb shawarma. All in all, good experience with attentive and responsive service with excellent food. We would have stayed longer had the chairs been more comfortable. I’ll be back (German accent)“

The food is always exceptional and the service is great, Maria is our favorite waitress but everyone is very nice. We always go for lunch because it's less busy, otherwise there's always a crowd, especially at night, you could be waiting well over an hour so be sure to make a reservation.“

“We were looking for Israeli food for my dad's birthday dinner. We got a table for 8 and were sat in the back room. It was pretty tight in there. While our waiter was nice, the restaurant was super full and I don't think it could handle all the groups of people well. We each ordered drinks and the drinks didn't come out when we got our appetizers. Waited even longer for them. For appetizers, we shared a bunch of dishes. The hummus really is delicious and the warm pita bread is great. We asked for more pita but unfortunately the pita was brought out when we got our main dishes and we no longer needed it. The restaurant forgot my chicken schnitzel dish so I just shared the burger with my husband. They also ran out of fries for the night and it was only 730pm.. the restaurant has lots of potential but needs to figure out a better system for food and service. They were super apologetic and did comp the pita bread and dessert for my dads birthday. The babka dessert is absolutely a delicious chocolate heaven!“
