“Great spot in the neighborhood to get a beer and entertainment. 5th really tries to give a visitor great value with live music and trivia nights. Their beer selection is nice and there is usually a food pop up when you get hungry. Dogs are a common visitor so if you don’t like them or are allergic you may want to make sure you find a seat away from our fury pals. It’s one of my favorite places in the area to hang out and witness some pretty good jazz and meet up with friends. LIC is a bit more modern and might be low on the history and charm of many neighborhoods in the city but 5th does a really great job of starting the area’s own vibe and identity.”
“What a hidden jem . Drinks are amazing and service was exceptional! Shout out to Abigail. She was so knowledge, kind and gave us some amazing recommendations! I will absolutely return!”
“One of my favorite Szechuan spots in NYC. They are probably the best in LIC as mentioned in their name.
Only miss I’ve had here is the mapo tofu. Too much oil and had no meat.
But I would recommend the green beans, cumin lamb, dry pot. All delicious.”
“A place with a wonderful atmosphere. The view is beautiful. You can admire the sunset and then beautifully illuminated Manhattan. I would definitely come back for this atmosphere. A very large selection of beers, all the ones I tried were good. As for the food, it was ok. It wasn't anything outstanding but it was tasty. The meat was well cooked and had a nice grilled flavor. The whole dish would need some original sauces that would make everything less dry.”

“Super cute inside.
Absolutely FANTASTIC enchiladas!!
Here on vacation, and usually like to change up where we eat, but I would 110% come back here.
Definitely a must try!”
“All the drinks and food were satisfying. The menu, thoughtfully selected by an expert chef from prestigious Citarella Gourmet Market, delivered an incredible sense of satisfaction and sophistication, rarely found in a small bar. The reasonable prices brought even more satisfaction. Whether it's the weekend or any other time, if you're looking to enjoy a drink in a luxurious and pleasant atmosphere, there's no need to go all the way to Manhattan. This is exactly the place you've been search”
“What an amazing place. I moved to LIC months ago and immediately identified that Culture Lab was a great community hub. From motorcycles to art work to comedy shows, they have it all, and they support it all. I loved it so much I became a volunteer. If you want to experience LIC, the arts, and a great community of humans doing the right things, please check out Culture Lab!
And no, they didn't ask me to write this. I just love this place and what they are doing.”

“What a gem. Friend recommended and did not disappoint. Restaurant was very busy and I know the waitstaff was stretched thin. It was noisy with a table full of 8year olds seated nearby with their parents.
I had the omakase for $70.00 and worth it. Sushi was fresh & quality amazing. I will be back soon.
I noticed many patrons ordered ramen. Perhaps I’ll give it a go next time.”
“We went for Thanksgiving, not expecting much. Understanding they would be busy at 7pm, we decided to take our chances and walk in. Super friendly service. We got a welcome eggnog, brilliantly cooked 3 course price fix menu, great service. There were some hiccups (soup came out crazy fast, while the drinks took the normal time. A little odd) loved that they had a kobe steak as arn option, very moist turkey too. Pumpkin creme bruleee was tasty-not too "pumpkiny". They even have us a free champagne with dessert. Really worth it”
“We took crepes and fresh squeezed orange juice, everything was delicious! The waitress was so polite and the bartender very welcoming, i will definitely go back and recommend everyone to visit the beautiful patio in the back.”

“Yesterday, on the Mid-Autumn Festival night, we brought our parents and children to have a meal together. We usually go to Flushing for hot pot, but we didn't expect such a good hot pot so close to LIC. There are many special dishes, all of which taste good. The bell shrimp slider and egg yolk shrimp slider are both good. The medium spicy base is just right. I will try the spiciest one next time.
But what makes me come back is the great service. The person who served our table was Tao, who was very attentive and provided us with soup and vegetables in a timely manner. One time, the soup accidentally spilled. They quickly replaced us with a new pot of soup and replenished various dishes. Before leaving, we were even allowed to taste the homemade soy milk in the store. Not because of these dishes, but because it can be seen from these actions that Tao really cares. He takes care of our family with intention. He hopes that we can eat happily and not be unhappy because of accidents. He only observes such subtle things out of kindness. , the service is so attentive. This kind of service is no longer common in fast-paced hot pot restaurants, and I hope that this original intention can be maintained. Thank you Tao for giving us the opportunity to take our children and parents to enjoy this wonderful experience. We will come back for food soon. I wish you a happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
In addition, the ladies and gentlemen in all the stores are very friendly. When passing by, they will subconsciously check the table to see if there is anyone who needs service. They will also say hello and say thank you for coming. It feels very friendly, like home away from home.
Thank you for your delicious food and beautiful hearts.
Kid-friendliness: It would be better to prepare some small children's plates instead of plastic boxes”
“My husband and I have eaten here twice: both times we’ve enjoyed delicious pizza, pasta, wine, coffee, and desserts. The staff are attentive and kind without hovering. Most recently, a couple and their young son were having dinner too. Beebe’s is a great choice for so many different people and families.”
“😀I have known Manetta's Ristorante since 1990's and have been going there. Food is always excellent and the prices are good. The staff and servers are pleasant. Lisa is always friendly and accommodating --- greeted me and my hubby with a pleasant smile and also checked up to make sure that everything was fine during the course of our meal. Server, Jasmine waited on us a couple of times --- one of it was today, 2/9/2024. We were happy with her service and everything else. Our overall experience with Manetta's Ristorante is excellent. I highly recommend.”
“We had the best pre cruise visit since we were staying nearby at a hotel. Both bartenders were excellent and the regular customers! Made us “southerners” feel comfy and offered up ideas and suggestions of navigating the concrete jungle! If we ever return to NY, we will definitely be back. Awesome food! Awesome service! Excellent drinks. Made our trip!!”
“I have been eating Paramount's American Paddlefish for many years now. I serve it to all my friends in my caviar pie on holidays and it is enjoyed immensely by all. The caviar is pristine and delicious! Their service is very personal and they will wrap your package if its a gift, beautifully. Amy, one of the owners, even sent me a tin during the lock-down! What more can you ask?”
“Lemak Kitchen is a ghost kitchen, serving the most incredible Malay food from a warehouse space on the outskirts of LIC.The exceptional food is well seasoned with generous portions. I had a seafood curry, which had shrimp, clams, mussels, and tofu, two kinds of egg noodles, and bean sprouts in an overflowing bowl of awesome. The curry was mildly spicy. Only complaint was that the noodles were under salted, which is so very minor. Everything was packed very well, surviving a subway ride with no mishaps. The weird: Lemak is located in the industrial section of town. There is no retail and if you're walking alone, you may be uncomfortable. When you get to the loading dock, which is thankfully well labeled, you have to walk down a long hallway with automatic lighting to find the kitchen. There's no seating, no restroom, no ADA compliance. The tasty is reserved only for the brave of heart and utmost devotees of deliciousness. The cook tonight (Salama?) was very kind, and had my order completed in 15 minutes even though the website said 40 minutes. Yay!”

24 Hour Restaurants
“24 hours. Patient staff. Great service. The ice cream portion size is also better than other Baskin Robbins locations!I got rum raisin, oreo cookies n’ cream, and pistachio almond. The latter two were amazing but the rum raisin was way too strong in terms of alcohol content. Would not recommend it to people who are sensitive to that. This location is also inside Food Bazaar, a 24-hour mega mart. The overall experience of late-night grocery shopping and getting ice cream is great.Seating is also available. Clean bathrooms are right inside the supermarket.”
“Although they are advertised as a restaurant, both times I ate it was from the store section: soft drinks, cookies, bread and chips. Acceptable prices, excellent assortment and good service.
Sometimes they get crowded and you can wait up to 10 minutes in line to pay.
There were people outside hanging out smoking weed. I didn't feel unsafe, but it is somewhat uncomfortable.”
“The sweetest, most caring employees. Always make sure nobody feels rushed while also making sure everyone’s orders get out in a timely manner. Food is authentic - great lunch deals for when you’re in a rush but want a complete meal. It’s open 24hrs hence at times it’s a little slower bc there is less staff but overall, always a pleasure doing business with them ?✨??”
“This is five starts from me for having me the Carbonara with the chunky chicken tonight. Nice, sweet and delicious green peas and lots of melted buttery cheese inside the hot container. A very lightly minty flavor was coming from the black paper that has met my energy as soon as I start eating that high. Great Cook and I apologize for anything. Bye”

“Super friendly service. I ordered a pad see ew with chicken and it was delicious. Surprised to see such an authentic place on a commercial street on Steinway. Lunch specials are super affordable and good portion size. I'm looking forward to trying the duck egg noodles next!”
Takeout Restaurants
“Astounding sandwiches! The "Queen's Baby" is absolutely delicious - even though it's a bit pricey, it's a lot of food. The Havana panini is a classic Cuban that would fit in perfectly in Miami. The bakery items look absolutely amazing, and I would love to go back and try more of their menu! The only downside is the limited seating.”

“I was the last customer and they still greeted me with a smile and welcoming atmosphere and was really quick with the food. First time trying it and the food was delicious Like I still can’t forget about it I wish they have way more locations in Brooklyn🥹. I got beef (mid spice) and chicken (mild), both with rice and the cucumber salad and dumplings 🥺 the best I had ever had🔥♥️ Definitely taking all of my friends and family there🤤”
“Ziggle was incredible! While the meats were tender, flavorful, and perfectly marinated. The banchan (side dishes) added variety, and the staff was super helpful and attentive. A perfect spot for great food and a good time—I’ll definitely be back!
(Chris the new manager here was very kind and helpful)”

Drive-Thru Restaurants
“I stumbled onto this place yesterday. I just recently started working around the corner. I entered the coffee shop and I was instantly greeted by such a sweet lady. I ordered the Nutella monster but explained to her that I don’t want it too and she made it absolutely delicious. Tasty and not too sweet at all so I didn’t feel too guilty for bending my diet haha! I also bought an avocado toast with a side of bacon….ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! This morning, I went back….yup, I sure did. Today, I tried the hot Nutella latte (again, less sweet) and was perfect for me! I’m loving this place!! Thanks Sip A Cup!! :)”
“Second time at this location. It's a shared location with Atlantis market. They have the gas cashier, as well as basic grocery items on one side and Dunkin on the other side. There is always the one cashier at Dunkin, but she is so nice and tries her best. The lot is small. Lots of livery cars park there. So, it gets hectic at times. Okay for a quick stop. The raspberry coolatta was good and the glazed donut was very fresh.”

Cheap Eats
“I went on a Saturday evening to try it out. The service was quick and efficient. I waited in the restaurant while the food was being prepared. The burger was tasty, I ordered the double patties. The fries were well seasoned and fried. I got the spicy and mild pink sauce as per the employees suggestion. I have recommended the smashed burgers to my friends.
Kid-friendliness: Bright, wide tables to allow for movement for children
Wheelchair accessibility: Spacious, a wheelchair can be accommodated”
“Thank goodness for Joe coffee. When I showed up to work just a little bit too early, I needed to retreat from the cold. That’s when I discovered Joe which was a 3 minute walk from where I was a welcome retreat.
The girls here greeted me warmly and the space was wonderfully inviting.
If you find yourself needing a coffee in LIC, Joe’s is magic.”
“Hi, I'm Trish,I live right up the block from Kate’s Corner Cafe. I have known her since she graced Astoria & Long Island City with delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches and omelet platters. Every time I go there, I order everything so mouthwatering that I want to order for three or four people. Very professional personalities are great there. Everyone who works there is exemplary. Kate is very down-to-earth, warmhearted, and friendly to everyone she needs. They get the orders done as soon as possible, especially for all of those working people that go there that have only so much time for lunch. Her business has expanded to one of the colleges in the area. Oh, to top it all, she does catering. Yes, did I tell you she also has a food truck? And to top it all, she does catering. She can do it all. If you want some excellent food in the area and beyond, please check them out.I go back repeatedly; thank you so much, Kate, for making great food for our area.Thank you for being a great friend!!!?????? ? ??”
“What a sandwich! Probably *the* most flavorfully complex sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Got the Cuban torta with “everything on it”. The owner did not disappoint.
Every bite is a dive into a wonderfully savory chew of complex flavors. I’m amazed.
The only thing that is missing is some lays potato chips to lay on this bad boy.
Straight out of scooby doo”
“It is a type of small supermarket and restaurant. It is clean and tidy. The attention is friendly and fast. They sell takeaway food for 9 and 10 USD. We ordered two dishes for 10 usd each. I ordered rice with black beans and spicy wings and my husband ordered white rice, beans and suckling pig. Additionally, we ordered a chorizo and a ripe plantain. To drink two sodas. In total 25.50 usd.”
“Such a culinary experience!
The creamy mentaiko pasta ain’t nothing like Nona used to make it, but very interesting and hearty flavor.
The Fish and rice bowl was incredibly fresh and tender. Couldn’t ask for anything better”
“We ordered a cake for our daughter’s birthday. The team at Shero was so kind and professional. The cake turned out exactly as we had asked. Not only was the cake beautiful but it tasted great. We will absolutely use them in the future!”
“Food is out of this world. I had the lunch special. Everything was cooked to perfection, i’m talking about tender cuts of chicken, spiced and marinated in the best kind of way! Flavor explosions! Well balanced, great prices, fresh food, decent portions! What more could you want!? I love this restaurant and it is definitely one of my lic favorite restaurants.”

“We returned on a visit to McLoughlins 38 years after it was the initial beacon on my arrival in the USA. From there I linked up with my friends , got a contact for a job , heard about accommodation going for rent and bumped into old friends. It created a network and a safety net for a whole generation of Irish immigrants. John is carrying on the traditional welcome provided by his father and uncle. He could not have been more helpful or kind as well as having that natural gift of the gab good barmen possess. Drinks were also fine”

“Sweetgreen has become our almost daily lunch spot for good reason. The food is always fresh and flavorful, but it’s the team that truly stands out. They’re welcoming, attentive, and consistently go above and beyond, making every visit feel like a personalized experience. It’s not just a great place to grab a meal—it’s a place where you feel like a regular, thanks to an incredible crew! Looove”
“Wendy’s app is ridiculous! It’s like it’s purposely designed to ensure no one uses their specials. Thankfully a Wendy’s employee, a nice young man, at this Wendy’s location helped me navigate the stupid app. Even he had trouble with it. Anyway, the food was good as always and the service was friendly and prompt at this Wendy’s.”
“The food was great, and the staff were friendly, but I was there with my young children, and the music playing was inappropriate. I mentioned it to our first server, but it was ignored because the music kept playing, followed by more inappropriate music. I would order from them, but probably only pick up because of that.
Parking: I got a spot right in front, but only because I was parking for a different business. We were hungry when we came back, so I took my family there to eat.
Kid-friendliness: The food is kid-friendly, but the atmosphere is geared toward an adult crowd.”
“It the best Mexican food I ever eat.”
