“Beautiful interior design, cute booths, ample space despite the relatively small store footprint. Lunch sets were excellent! We ordered 2 lunch sets + an extra main which is just right for two people with large appetites. The double cooked pork and spicy chicken were exceptional - honestly a quality I’d expect in China. The eggplant dish was a bit too sweet (and I’m from an area that eats sweet) but cooked just right otherwise. Ingredient quality was excellent. Highly recommend going for lunch!“

“Delicious and reasonably priced food. We went on Saturday at 6pm. You have to scan a code to be put on a wait list. This is very convenient because once scanned, you can see your progress in line. Initially, we were told we had a 20 minute wait, but we were seated only after 10 minutes. Service was quick and efficient. I think someone posted that the food came out a little too quickly. However, that worked for us because we had an 8pm show to get to anyways. We never felt rushed at all. For $100, we enjoyed 2 orders of pork soup dumplings, 1 order of pan fried pork dumplings, the sautéed bok choy, vegetable spring rolls, shumai, beef udon noodles, 2 beers, and 2 soft drinks. The food was fresh and very tasty. We will be back!“

“Tasty dim sum, a compromise towards flavor and price over ambiance and excellence. Everything was well prepared, and had a good flavor; yet nothing was outstanding. The self service ordering system is convenient, and the pictures are useful. It loses some of the charm of push carts and nagging waiters. The ambiance is sterile and the sitting seating space is of average comfort“

“Service was much faster than I expected, but the food was even better. The pickled okra was delightful, just the right amount of crunch with plenty of garlic, chili's, and green onion. The changing chicken was dry fried with tons of chilies that dish is all protein, no brakes. Save room for the rice wine soup. I know it sounds odd, but was a great end to the meal. Cocktails are also great, but be sure to slow down and enjoy them!“

“It was a joy of chaotic stress and tasty dim sum !! And i meant it.We came on weekend with friends visiting from out of town and of course its chaotic because its mobbed with people waiting in and outside to be seated.“So all you need to do is” go inside and take a number from a black suited guy with a clipboard in his hand, if you cant find him just listen to his calling out for numbers. After you got a number, its best to wait outside and wait for the calling. On the street you can hear through the speaker. The numbers jumble around depending on the numbers of party, so just let the man do his job (he knows what he is doin)To be honest the wait is not that long. Tables turn over quickly and also sharing the same table with others make it a lot less waiting.Once seated you can start the fun time anticipating the dim sum carts coming around and picking what looks delish. I have to say it surprises me that the dim sum is really good and the best so far I had around town until otherwise. Its even better than some Hong Kong dim sum places I tried while living in Hong Kong. What can I recommend ? All of it , try everything. My fav is always the fluffy fried taro/yam dumplings, lava custard buns, rice rolls with shrimp or pork drizzled with soy sauce and egg tarts. We paid $94 before tips for 4 people. Its beyond reasonable for such good dim sum !!!“

“We got a reservation for 9 people on a Sunday morning at this location of Dim Sum Palace and it was a nice way to spend time with family. The restaurant isnt very big but there's enough room for two large tables and a decent number of tables for 2 and 4. We ordered around 20 different items and the standouts were the shrimp rice rolls, soup dumplings, beef chow fun, and stir fried turnip cake. The service was generally good but three items never arrived at our table and we had to let the staff know; the food arrived at the end when we were almost at max capacity. “A cash only hole in the wall that serves steam rice noodle . Each rice noodle comes with 3 vegetables ( scallions, beansprout, lettuce, corn)I prefer the shrimp roll over the signature. My shrimp roll had 5 pieces of shrimp. A small order was filling for me.Adding an egg is $1. They like to upsell here and will ask if you want egg.I feel like none of the meat in the signature roll were seasoned. The dried shrimp was nonexistent .Soymilk was way water down or under extracted. 1/5.The food is made to order and I had never waited longer than 10 minutes. There is no restroom and they advise to go to the nearby malls. Bring your own sanitizer/ lysol wipes. This would not be a good place for groups since counter seating is limited and first come first serve.-1 starThis place is dirty. I have never seen them clean the countertop or the spoons for the hot sauce or even wiped down the soy sauce bottles. I am usually there at the less busy time.I didn't get corn in my steamed rolls and a piece showed up. I am not a fan of this cross contamination. “I came to this restaurant for dinner last night. Overall, I was not impressed and was even a little disappointed. In terms of service, I wanted to get help three times last night but could not find the waiter, and even when I waved, he did not come over to ask. I don’t understand if they had other things to deal with yesterday and were very busy, but when dining in, There were only three tables in the area where I ate. In terms of food, I learned about the Peking duck in this store from the xhs app. I went there for the Peking duck and hot stone wagyu. The wagyu was very thin. Yesterday’s waiter took a long time to fry it, and the wagyu was too thin. It started to roll up, so it wasn't heated evenly and was overcooked in the middle. Yesterday I ordered four dishes of Peking duck, sliced duck with pancake, lychee wood-smoked sliced duck, soup, and salt and pepper duck rack. The pancake was as thin as paper and elastic, which was very good. It was eaten wrapped with Peking duck and lychee. The wood smoke is very ordinary, there is no smell of lychee wood, it is just ordinary smoke. The soup is well made and not greasy at all. It also contains barley, yam and wolfberry. The most disappointing thing is the salt and pepper duck rack. I don’t know if the chef was in a hurry to cook it, but some were extremely salty and some were tasteless. I didn’t order wine yesterday, but ordered hot tea. I feel like this place is more suitable for a drink and a get-together. I can invite friends over for drinks next time, but the food still has a lot of room for improvement.“

“Food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. I've never had soup dumplings before and the pork soup dumplings were fantastic! I also tried the pan fried peking duck buns which was also amazing! The only negative was the speed of service, but definitely not enough to take away from the overall experience. I would definitely recommend and come back again!“

“Slightly hard to write this review as I arrived a bit late to the meal. I went here months upon months ago. Not knowing that this was part of Dun Huang, I thought I went to the wrong restaurant but it turned out it was one and the same which was surprising. I was here with a group of nine others. As I arrived a bit late, the soup dumplings had already been there a while but they were still of very good quality. My favorite of the night was the Salted Egg Yolk & Shrimp Stir-Fried Rice Cakes. The texture of the rice cakes were perfect and the egg yolk complimented it well. I also liked the Dry Fried Shredded Eel & Chives. I also would have preferred them less shredded as I couldn't taste much of the eel texture but the sauce was nice and the blend with the chives added some good depth. The Fried Dough Twist Spicy Chicken or Laziji with Mahua was also surprisingly spicy for a restaurant which is primarily Shanghainese now so I guess they still have some influence from the old Dun Huang. I've had it before with these dough twists from the excellent Peppercorn Station and these rivaled that place even though the chicken there was a bit pricier but then again there was larger pieces of chicken in the latter. The Fish Fillets in Sour Cabbage Soup was also pretty solid as well as the Grilled Lamb Kebabs. You can essentially see Andie's review for the rest of my thoughts as they essentially reiterate hers. Yes it was too hot inside and as I was rushing to get there, I got warmer than most but oh well. Would go back but maybe go during the fall or winter if the AC isn't fixed yet. Mid 4“

“I really enjoyed the sour pickle fish and sweet and sour pork here. There’s also something for everyone, my mom’s vegetarian and we got the cauliflower dish for her and it was very flavorful. For dessert we topped it off with their bing feng and it was really refreshing. The service was also very fast and accommodating!“

“The first time I ever tried steamed rice rolls was here and I stop by when I’m in the area. My fav is the shrimp party roll. The beef and pork roll are also delicious. Add soy and chili to enjoy fully! You can order from the window, the old-fashioned way or wait on the absurdly long kiosk line like apparently everyone was doing today when I arrived. I find it fascinating how our society would rather order from a screen than a human being.Make sure you ask for soy sauce and chili oil if you’re picking up bc they won’t put it in the bag otherwise.“

“Best Chinese food I have ever had, it is so good. Food came out super quick and super cheap! There was a 20 min wait but it was a nice night so it was fine. My favorite thing there had to be either the pork buns which is one of the most delicious things I have had in my lifetime or the chicken soup dumplings which are also very good. So if you are in the area definitely go.“

“Liked the food a lot, it was fresh and very tasty! We ordered the sesame cold noodles, garlic Chinese eggplant, salt and pepper tofu and vegan made weeping tiger salad. Honestly each dish was better than the other, right amount of spice and was light. The atmosphere was kind of dive bar-y which was pretty nice. The prices were a bit high in my opinion though. The service wasn’t very good. Our server wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu as we were asking her questions about it. She brought the check right after we finished our food without asking if we needed anything else which I found it very odd and sloppy! Maybe she was new…“

“I've been here 4 times in the past month now. The food slaps. Makes me feel like I'm back in Shanghai. Chef/owner is very welcoming and passionate about his food. The menu is a mix of authentic Shanghainese food and more mainstream NYC Chinese food. I recommend the pan fried dumplings (生煎吧), lions head meatballs (狮子头), and crab tofu (蟹粉豆腐). I love the warm and casual vibes and Baodega has definitely become my new neighborhood spot.“

“Quick dinner! I got the shrimp dumplings with a count of 4. The shrimp dumplings were very juicy and good! For my main entree I got the low mein with pork. The pork was not good and not cooked very much long. It had many way too fatty pieces. Otherwise the restaurant is a 7/10. So it is average. There could be better restaurants than this.“
