Burger Restaurants near Middle Village

“I come to this location about 5 times a month. I am a teacher, so I need something fast to eat that is healthy and fast. I usually go for lunch but this time, I decided to go for dinner. I decided to have my daughter meet me for dinner at this location. While I was making my order on my phone. The manager (she) ran up to me and scared my daughter by yelling at us. Her exact words were, "You can not eat that food here." She yelled at us, that the other customers just looked at her. My daughter had a bag with food from another restaurant, which was for her Dad to eat at home. But the bag never was open, and we were just there waiting for our Wendy's food to be prepared, to have dinner. The bag was also sealed. I made 3 orders from Wendy's that evening for dinner. She assumed that I was going to sit there and eat from another restaurant and that I never ordered Wendy's from my phone. But I had the proof on my phone. I was waiting, standing up. We never gave her any reason to think that we were opening the other restaurants food. She walked away. I walked to the counter and asked to speak to the manager. She stated that she was the manager. I explained to her that what she did was not acceptable as a manager. She was not supposed to yell, assume, and approach customers in that manner. It was rude and embarrassing. I have been a teacher for the past 22 years, and I have never approached a parent in that manner. I also explained that to her . My daughter was so embarrassed. As a manager, she should know how to speak and approach customers. She then stated that she approached us in that manner because a lot of people go to this Wendy's and do that all the time. I told her that has nothing to do with us. She can not approach us for what other people have done. I am a human being, and I deserve respect. The same way that we never disrespect others. The other workers behind the counter shaked their heads and agreed with me.“

“Great old school soup and sandwich joint. Counter seating with a small area with tables in back. They were out of borscht, so I will try my luck next time. I got the cheeseburger with special sauce, my friends got club sandwiches, all were good. They even have a Mel Brooks sandwich! The fries are a round "chips" style and are a side order were perfectly salted and tasty!“

“I had such a wonderful experience at Royale. First it has an awesome bar and restaurant indoors and the space outdoors is beautifully decorated. I have celiac disease and they had the most delicious gluten free nachos (made on site) ever! They were perfect. I was so happy I could have them and they were excellent! Great atmosphere and food! “Restaurant in the heart of New York near Times Square. We stopped there randomly and were very surprised by the concept. Basic dinner meal but prices are relatively high. Not recommended for a quiet meal. Each waiter takes turns becoming a singer and puts on a show while walking around the restaurant. Very entertaining and funny, we had a great time.“

“I was not disappointed at all, even though I had to wait ~15 minutes for a solo counter seat. I had the fried onion burger, and it was beautifully cooked. The fries are McDonald's style, double fried. The key lime pie was also worth getting. Considering I had all that and a diet coke for under $25, in Manhattan, I was impressed.“

“My wife and I visited Handcraft Burgers and Brews for my birthday this past weekend. As soon as my wife opened the menu she knew that I was going to have to try the burger of the month which was a peanut butter and grape jelly topped hamburger with jalapenos, bacon and cheese. Admittedly I have never had peanut butter and jelly on a burger before but I figured I would try something new and see what all of the hype was about. Turns out, I loved it! Every bite was so flavorful and completely made my birthday lunch a worthwhile venture! We also tried the tater tots, because who doesn't love a good tater tot. We could have chosen from multiple dipping sauces but we decided to go with the garlic aioli and I am glad we did. I dipped each of my tater tots in the sauce and there was plenty for both of us to share. We were helped by Vanessa at the restaurant and she was very accommodating when I was having trouble using a coupon that I had for my birthday. All in all this was a wonderful choice for my birthday lunch and when we are in the area again I would definitely stop by and perhaps try the latest burger of the month along with some tater tots and garlic aioli dipping sauce of course!“

“This place has gotten a lot of hype, so I had to see whether it was worth it or not. To set expectations, this is not fast food. There was a line out the door on a Saturday at 2 p.m. It moved pretty fast though, and I only waited about 20 minutes. Once I ordered, it took a little over 10 minutes for my food to be ready. They have limited seating, but there's someone at the door who only lets people in when seating opens up. I ordered a Double Gotham Smash burger with a side of fries. The ingredients were fresh, and the burger had so much flavor. The fries could've been better. They didn't have much flavor at all. Is this the best burger I've had in NYC? No, but it's one of the best I've had. My only complaint is that it's a little pricey. 8 fried pickles slices are $8, and fountain drinks are $4.“

The regular mash is good and the spicy mash is unique. The honey definitely makes it taste different than other burgers. “Four of us dined. Three had the ribeye, medium rare, and they were delicious. One had the filet mignon cooked medium. It was overcooked, no pink, and tough. Loaded baked potato and asparagus were fine; nothing special. Chocolate torte and warm butter cake desserts were good. The service was fine; waiter was pleasant. Overall though, prices versus the actual quality/taste received were a bit on the high side.“
