“It was my first time at this diner. I was babysitting for my sister, who lives in Mt Vernon. After I dropped the children at school, I wanted to eat breakfast and have some alone time. The place was clean. The staff was welcoming, and the service was quick. The diner gave me the authentic Greek diner. The menu is a large textbook. While eating there, I got the sense that they have a lot of regular. They were calling customers by name.“

“Large slices. Economic. Lots of slice options in the glass case to choose from. This location does a lot of delivery business and hires multiple in-house drivers, so speed is their forte. Very friendly and accommodating service. Comprehensive cold drink selection. Well-lit and clean dining area with good music. The only pizzeria in the Fleetwood area with a clear POS (point of sales) payment system so that you can see exactly what you are charged when paying with a credit card. I will not elaborate on other pizzerias, like the one on Bronx River Rd, that consistently overcharge with no remorse.“
“Amazing restaurant and bar! I was here on a Friday night celebrating a relatives birthday. The dj was on point, the bartender was nice and overall the staff was good. The food and rum punch was amazing and on point! I felt like I was back home in Jamaica eating the fish - full of flavor. I’ll definitely be back in the future.“

“Had to check out this place due to all the hype. It’s good, but I think a tad bit over rated. Pizza is comparable to Joe’s in nyc but it’s much greasier here. The service was subpar, with the waitress never checking in besides the initial order which was delayed to begin with. I guess that’s expected if it’s busy. The price of soda is $3 for a can and the payment is accepted only via cash. I find that quite archaic in today’s time along with no takeout/delivery.“

“Food and drinks were amazing. Only complaint is waited too long, over 30 min, for our food. Watched as people who sat after us finished their food and left.“

“I visited on a Sunday morning before 9am. There were people lining up to the entrance, but I was able to order in about 10 minutes. I ordered a bagel with scallion cream cheese ($5.99), but most of the people ordered the cream cheese in a cup and added it themselves. Highly recommended for the taste, price, and atmosphere.“

“Ate at Chama Mama in the Upper West side last January at a friend's recommendation, and it was my first time tasting Georgian Cuisine. It was great! I got the basic Khachapuri and the Khinkali (Georgian dumplings), and both came in big servings. They were both delicious as well, and the person at the counter also shared how to eat the dishes the traditional Georgian way. Would highly recommend!“

“I visited the Yemeni restaurant run by Chef Jamal and it was an excellent and more than wonderful experience. Yemeni dishes are characterized by rich and unique flavors, which attracts many other nationalities to try them. Also, Yemeni dishes rely on natural and healthy ingredients, which makes them a healthy choice for people who care about healthy nutrition. The quality of Yemeni cooking is what attracts all non-Yemenis who taste it.After eating...don't forget to try the areca - very, very delicious“

“I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“

“We were at Ginny's Supper club downstairs at Red Rooster for the Sunday Gospel Brunch. The BEST way to spend Mother's Day, given that I couldn't be with my kids. My husband and I loved it! The food was great- fried chicken and mac n cheese with collard greens. And the concert was fantastic- those amazing voices! Tell the audience there's mousse served at the end of the buffet dinner. A lovely surprise but we were full.“

“The Healthy in Dyckman Juice Bar is one of my new favorites! The variety of food options available is mind boggling and I mean that in a good way. As someone who doesn’t eat dairy, I love it here. My favorite thing I’ve tried so far is the Salmon rice bowl. It’s so healthy, delicious, filling, and well priced! The avocado toast with the eggs was hitting too! You must give this gem a try. Thanks Juan for your great service today.Dietary restrictions: If you’re vegan, vegetarian, or don’t eat dairy this place you’ll feel right at home. Healthy vibes apply.“

“Got the papaya salad, pad spicy miso eggplant & shiitake fried rice. Papaya salad- that was pretty spicy, very fresh and crunchy. I couldn't tell if there was papaya in there because it was white? Eggplant- good flavors and well done, needed a bit more rice though because it was again, quite spicy. Shiitake fried rice- no overall complaints, I liked it, but wish it had a bit less oil.“

“The other day, I experienced omakase at TAKEDA for the first time. The space was as tranquil as ever. The light jazz music playing in the background stirred my heart more. The "appetizer" was salmon with dill oil. The orange dressing gently coats the salmon, which has just come out of the northern sea. The scent of the ocean and citrus fruits create an unexpected chemistry.Next is kampachi or Amber Jack sashimi. The elegant plum sauce is a light accent. As with the other items, the fish is directly from the Toyosu market in Tokyo. After all, the crunchiness is outstanding. The next dish, a bowl of soup, is very elaborate. Steamed silver cod on top of slices of zucchini. On top of that, there are steamed lotus dumplings, a local delicacy of Kanazawa. The accompanying red bell pepper's light bitter taste contrasts nicely with the dumplings. Then, the "first half" of the nigiri-sushi sequence begins. By the way, all sushi at this restaurant are served by hand, one by one, from Mr. Takeda. The only seasoning is the boiled-down soy sauce prepared by the chef, and customers are basically not allowed to add soy sauce from a small plate. The sushi lineup that day included Nodoguro (black seabass) from Tsushima,Nagasaki, Button Shrimps from Hokkaido (the rice grips are intentionally softened to enhance their texture), and salmon roe (a type of salmon roe called Sujiko, which is also from Hokkaido, and is at its best when it is out of season). Following was Kinmedai or Golden Eye Snapper(a non-migratory type of local Kinmedai called Jikinme) from the port of Choshi, Chiba, and the sushi section concluded with the renowned eel from Hamamatsu. After being bombarded with so much sushi, it was tempting to turn in a different direction. Perhaps sensing my mood, grilled sea bass appeared. I was relieved to see the harmony of the autumn taste of shiitake mushrooms and light sea bass.Soon after, the tuna, which had been aged for six weeks, was served. The taste of fermentation, almost like being marinated in miso, was quite an acquired taste, but it was a pleasant surprise. The next dish that shook our palates to the core was Matsugasa-age (fried sweet sea bream). A very Japanese dish is given a Western touch thanks to the balsamic vinegar, mashed potatoes, corn, and tomatoes that accompany it. Westerners may feel relieved here.Just when you thought you had been steered in the direction of the Western style with all your might, the second half of the nigiri-sushi sequence begins. Starting with sea urchin from Hokkaido, followed by horse mackerel (seared) from Oita, sea bream, and striped horse mackerel, it all comes to a close with snow crab soup. The kaleidoscopic variety of dishes makes one feel quite full, but the finale is a hand roll of Negitoro and dried bonito flakes, an elegant roll handed to me by Chef Takeda, and I am deeply moved to think that this is the end of the meal. The final dish of the day was the "Matcha Mousse with Brown Sugar Sauce. If you still have room in your stomach, you can order additional dishes after this.Great experience.“

“This place is definitely the talk of the town. Just before we walked in the doors we had a local telling us that it was a great Italian place and we wouldn't be disappointed. He couldn't be closer to the truth! We enjoyed great service from the staff, a good ambiance, and delicious food. The food came out of the kitchen in what seemed like five minutes and it was good. Wouldn't recommend linguine bongole if you are sensitive to spice because of the pepper flakes, but it was still a great dish. The pizza and the penne vodka were out of this world flavor, and for a reasonable price too. If you are looking for an Italian place that has won the hearts of the locals, this is the place for you.Vegetarian options: If there is a dish with meat, you can ask them to take it out.“
