Comida Centro Americana Metapan Restaurant Latin American •
326 Webster Ave, New Rochelle

“I called in for papusas and got a variety to try! I loved every single one but can highly recommend the papusas with pork and beans; it is definitely my new favorite dish. The wait was about 15 minutes after I called to place my order, which was not bad at all. The owner was very kind and gave us a slice of pizza to try for free, which was good as well. Overall, great experience, and I will be coming back soon!“

“The food I bought here at El Sabor De Mi Tierra was very tasty, well prepared. I have bought pupsas in other restaurants and they have come out spoiled. The ones that I buy here are very rich and good. And the Guaraches super delicious. ? I recommended them.“

“Stumbled into this place after a long day and needing a meal to fortify us for the drive home. This place is perfect! It's clean, well lit, lots of windows that provide natural light, the staff are gorgeous and friendly. The food? I wished I lived closer so I could pop over whenever I wanted. I was craving soup and fried sweet plantains and couldn't find it anywhere. This place had it, the plantains were fried to perfection [they even had that crispy edge but soft middle], the black beans and cream it was served with, a perfect addition to it. The soup was so good and flavorful. I had the beef and I had to be rolled out. My partner had the fried tilapia and we got an entire tilapia on the plate. You get more than enough food for your money. The horchata and tamarind juice were yummy as well!! They sell pastries as well that unfortunately we werent able to sample, but they looked scrumptious!Wheelchair accessibility: The door opens straight from the side walk no steps etc.“

“The food was excellent, and everything was tasty. Our favorite was definitely the Seafood Soup and the Yucca & Chicharrone. The portion size was huge. The waitresses were all very friendly and worked hard. We took the pictures after we started eating the main dish, so please excuse the pictures.“

“Amazing authentic Mexican/ Salvadoran cuisine. Three of us tried: 1) torta milanesa - chicken was tender and the bread was soft, very filling, we brought half home, 2) seafood soup- so much seafood (crab, fish, shrimp, mussels, squid, clam) and huge- very big, good to share among 3 people if you're sampling lots of dishes, 3) birria tacos which were flavorful and fresh (didn't come with consommé), 4) al pastor tacos, touch of sweetness, 5) pork, cheese, beans papusa (very filling, we shared 1, 6) guacamole which was presented in a traditional bowl and wasn't too spicy and 7) a elote tamale but haven't tried it yet bc we were so full so we packed it to-go. Service was good and the place had fun music videos playing. We would gladly come back. Everything was fresh, tasty and affordable.“

Pupusas De Chicharron - Pork

“Everything was really good, from the food to the people. Really nice service, really polite and patience (i had dificulties to pay, since i didnt have cash) btw this is an ONLY CASH stablishment. But I gave 4 cuz of personal preference. The rice can be changed to a normal white rice. That rice is kind of not that tasty and it is damn pricy.Parking: Not that many spots. I got lucky I got one right in front of it. But it has a 30 min parking spots.“

“We stumbled upon this restaurant, driven by my husband's Honduran roots, and it exceeded our expectations. The waiter's exceptional politeness and impeccable tableside manners left a lasting impression, reminiscent of my father's high standards for service. The food was a true delight. My husband relished an order of baleadas, featuring homemade, thick, and soft flour tortillas that were simply perfect. We loved them so much that we took two extra tortillas back to our hotel. My choice of pupusas—queso, chicharron, and revuelta—was nothing short of amazing. Generously filled and substantial, they were a flavorful experience. Adding to the feast, the maduros appetizer with cream was a highlight, and I could easily devour a whole plate. In conclusion, this restaurant is a gem for those reconnecting with their roots or daring to explore something new. We're eager to return and savor the delightful flavors once more.“

“I love the flavor of the food everything is delicious.... THIS IS A PUBLIC WARNING. I have been to this place multiple times and I'd say 40 percent of the time when I order either the chicken empanadas or tomales there are chicken bones that I and my nephew have nearly choked on. I tried calling and telling them about it but they pretended to not understand me EVEN WHEN I SAID IT IN SPANISH.This is unacceptable putting chopped up bones in these foods is a hazard. I hope the owner sees and educated his line cooks on proper food prep.“
