“As we were passing by Morris park and 180 St. just off the train station, when we saw this restaurant. We were not sure to come in as it didn’t smell to food. Very clean! I didn’t know or heard about this restaurant before so I had many questions about our orders. Gentleman who serve us was very knowledgeable and really nice! best of all, spoke clear English, which was great! He answer all my questions and even offer a little taste of horchata which was delicious! I had Pepper steak and my partner had Soup, both dishes were delicious. Service was excellent, great atmosphere and food, food was delicious!!! for an unbeatable price!!! We will definitely come again!“
“Update as of 4/01/2022The food is still bussin bussin. Everything is made to order. It's fresh delicious and above all, seasoned. This is a nice hidden little gem. The food here was amazing. The Popusas here taste great and actually have flavor. Didn't expect much from the skirt steak (churrasco) but it was excellent. Seasoned and cooked perfectly, it was very juicy and tasty overall. The atmosphere is ok, dark little place with not too many windows, staying in is definitely an option but taking the food to go is great as well.“
“I love pupusas so much, ive tried from different places but here is where the best of the best are. Theyre huge and they only cost 3 dollars, and they taste amazing, I always be craving them, theyre so goodonly think is that it takes a while, have to wait about 45 minutes for my pupusas, i dont really like the wait time but it be worth it tho, I personally would recommend for you to order them earlier on the phone at 7184094013“
“Best chicken cutlet in the area. Left a note for an order specification that they were not seeing (that I was not aware about). I left a lower than usual review because it was happening more than once as I am a regular customer. Immediately they were on it. The next time I placed an order I received a phone call from the owner herself to make sure they knew what went wrong and how they could fix it. This business truly values their customers and really go the extra mile. Great food and great people make for a great experience! Highly recommend to all in the bayside area!“
“We have been going to eat at this restaurant for 14 years, the place where he took me to meet my father, may he rest in peace and in his memory we still go, it hurts to go without Don Esteban Zapata, the owners are very good people, they loved my father very much, the staff is very good. Excellent attention and service ?.“
“Small and cozy, this little Washington Heights gem has home style Salvadoran dishes, beginning with pupusas (corn cakes stuffed with meat, beans, cheese, etc) topped with savory coleslaw. The chicken soup was just right on a cold winter night. Fried plantain, both ripe, sweet, and the starchy, salty green types, were on point. Rice and beans complete the meal.“
“Best pupusas in New York City. Everything they serve is home made and following authentic recipes from El Salvador. The pickled cabbage that comes with the pupusas is so delicious. The couple that owns this restaurant also prepare Mexican food and drinks. Tamarind and horchata drinks make me remember with warmth the food of my childhood in Santa Ana. I highly recommend Ricas Pupusas to anyone that wants to enjoy traditional food from El Salvador.“
