The Octopus was equally impressive, sporting a char that gave way to a tender interior, all elevated by the subtle heat of chile morita.
The Duck Carnitas, however, are the undisputed king of this menu. Served in a cast-iron skillet to share, the meat is unctuous and rich without being heavy. Constructing the perfect bite with the fresh tortillas and radishes feels like a ritual you will want to repeat.

“We travel every year to NY for my wife's birthday and out of the 3 to 4 days we are there we visit La Contenta 3 to 5 times at least, one when we arrive in between and on our way back to the airport is always our last stop, I have been in the industry for over 40 years and question the reason why we are there so much with so many restaurants available? The mezcal and tequila drinks are the best anywhere in this city, I can only compare them to my own drinks with the freshest ingredients and great mezcal and tequila selections, but there are also other great mezcal and tequila bars which are really good too. The food is great the branzino with the spicy serrano salsa is fantastic but we mostly drink lol and there are also other Mexican restaurants with great food mmmmm so what is it about La Contenta that makes us want to be there so much? I can only think of is that they treat us the way We treat guests in our restaurant, they make us feel special, they remember us every time with a warm and open arms feeling. It is hard to put into words but we love La Contenta east and Brooklyn ( THE WEST LOCATION IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT) My wife told the owners that when she passes she wants some of her ashes put in a corner of La Contenta is that level of hospitality of this wondeful Mexican Institute !!!“

“My partner and I absolutely LOVED Casa Carmen TriBeCa! It was our first time there, it was convenient to a screening we were attending nearby at The Roxy. The food was sublime, the service wonderful, in a beautiful setting. Ron was our server and he was fantastic; he knew about my allergies (put in the reservation system) before approaching the table, accurately described the food preparations, and he and the staff were mindful and aware of all going on (the water carafe was always full!). We shared guacamole, my partner had tortilla soup (broth poured from a teapot at the table!) and lamb tacos. I had special tacos (branzino with the most amazing sauce flavor profile was very unique!) and vegetarian black beans. We shared churros for desert and I had an espresso. All was perfect. Of note, the plating was beautiful, elevated the food made with love even more. There were several big parties, but the sound level never got too loud (and I am very sensitive to sound); the 2-tops are also situated so you don't feel like people are sitting on top of you, and the bigger tables are perfectly situated. Looking forward to returning and trying the mole and other dishes.“

“I cannot sing the praises of this place and the staff enough! We had a long day at the museum and we were all starving and the kids were very cranky. We took forever trying to find a place that they would all find something to eat at but that place didn't work out so we came here not realizing how lucky we were. After having a quick glance at the menu I realized two of my children would probably not eat anything. Two of the ladies that work there helped us work it out to piece together a meal for them with components they already have. It took quite a while figuring everything out but they were patient and helpful. The food was outstanding and the cocktails and mocktails were phenomenal. “Had the breakfast burrito 🌯 been wanting to get to this place for a while.

Wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was good. The chorizo was the one I went with definitely wasn’t disappointed.

I don’t think it’s worth a far drive but if you’re in the area or it’s not completely out your way it’s definitely worth stopping in for a visit. The place does have seating but not a lot of room. There is a park near by and lots of outdoor seating near the area. That’s what I chose to do.

The breakfast burrito price was amazing especially for nyc the food was good quality and really delicious. The sauce everyone was talking about wasn’t over powering. Matter of fact I wish I had more next time I’ll ask for some on the side felt like I needed an extra pump 😂.

I truly enjoyed this place and I’m sure you guys will also the coffee was mid but it’s ok food makes up for it.

“Solid spot. Good prices. Busy on a summer weekend so just hang around until you can steal someone’s table outside.
The marg was a bit watery but good. Hit the spot enough.
The nachos are actually exactly what you’d expect in a standard, satisfying plate of nachos and they’re big. Perfect for sharing with 2-4 people.
Love that they have a breakfast burrito at night.

“It's easy here to become desensitized to fantastic food when you live in Greenwich Village. But every simple meal at The Little Taco House is still magical. Order three or four tacos -- carnitas, chicken tinga, shrimp, and al pastor are the best, in that order -- with spicy salsa, and a tamarind Jaritos. Talk to (and tip!) the two kind, hard-working people behind the counter, and let them know you'd like your food to stay. Eat immediately, at the small metal chairs outside. Each bite will slow time just a little bit even though you are having an extremely efficient meal.“
