Would have again. The $30 prix fixe dinner offers appetizer (we had the crab cake and the goat cheese and quinoa salad), main course and dessert (all excellent). Student/servers did a great job. Hats off to the chefs. Will return. Make sure to get a reservation.”

“To be clear, I am writing this review about ONE item only. It is all I ordered. It's the steamed dumplings. Happened upon this place in my travels and was pleasantly surprised. If you like the old school steamed dumplings, i.e., the thicker dough type rather than what 99% of chinese restaurants serve (which is awful thin tiny things that do not ever warrant a purchase), you will love these dumplings. They are not super huge but are a good size and at this writing it was $6.75 for 8. I visit the Falls a bunch and will be returning to sample other fare. The atmosphere is typical chinese restaurant in my opinion. Which is just fine.”

The locals that were there were also very nice and helpful. They even gave us sleds to take with us so that we could go sledding! The atmosphere is one that makes you want to stay for a long time. Parking is pretty much on the street but I had no problem finding a place to park. (Right in front actually) I was in and out in a very short time, sat right down and within minutes had drinks. “My husband and I started a tour business and our very first tour was to the Stevensville Garden Gallery, Betty’s for dinner followed by the Winter Festival of Lights. I cannot say enough about the amazing service we received from Betty’s but firstly, I have to say that while planning our tour, Joe was extraordinary. He was so patient and understanding whenever changes arose and when our reservation ended up being smaller than we had originally thought it would be, he was extremely kind and compassionate. When we arrived at Betty’s Restaurant with our tour group, my husband and I were even more impressed by Joe and his team. We had brought our toddler along on our tour and as our group was being escorted to our table to be seated, our daughter who was absolutely obsessed with Peter Rabbit at the time was saying that she’s hungry and with her big imagination, she was actually pretending to be Peter Rabbit. Having overheard our daughter, a plate of baby carrots was brought to the table for our toddler before our group could even finish placing our order for drinks with our server. Our group was not even seated for more than a few minutes when the carrots arrived, and my husband and I were so touched by the thoughtfulness that was shown to our little girl. It goes without saying that the food and the service was incredible and we could not have asked for a better place to bring a tour group. We all had a great time and Betty’s Restaurant was definitely the highlight of our first bus tour. Joe and his team went above and beyond for us; from the moment we started planning the tour to the moment our group left the restaurant, we received exceptional service. Family owned and run, straightforward, great food, and genuine people.
We asked for a recommendation and ordered several Beef on Weck sandwiches. Thin sliced seasoned beef on a Kimmelweck roll with incredible flavor. If you’ve never had one, the Kimmelweck roll is part of what makes the sandwich so good. The coarse salt, caraway seeds, and sturdy roll complement the juicy beef perfectly, especially with plenty of horseradish added. You can see why this became a Western New York classic.
We also had the fried bologna sandwich with hot peppers, which was packed with flavor and done right. Portions were generous and everything we ate was excellent.
But a review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the service. The owners stopped by to talk, and they were authentic, friendly people. It felt like a local hometown spot instead of being halfway across the country from home.
Places like Jon Fre’s are what make traveling memorable. This place deserves to be an American icon. Don’t miss it, and definitely order the Beef on Weck.”

It was great on Pierce Avenue, when it was both locations, and it's still going strong solely on The Blvd. I have RARELY encountered a restaurant that is consistent EVERY SINGLE TIME. Consistency is so important when running a business; It shouldn't depend on who is working that day, what mood the cook is in, etc... This is how you do it. “Wanted a real bar, not a hotel bar while in Niagara Falls. Walked up and they had a Molson Canadian beer light in the window, found my bar. Walked in and went to the end of the bar by myself and ordered a Molson. The bartender, Frannie, said they didn't have it, haven't in years. Disappointed at first, but reminded of a lot of my hometown bars.
Sat alone drinking my beer when one of the regulars ordered a round of Duck farts. She then looked down at me and asked if I would do one too, I said sure. After the whole bar did a shot she invited me down to join them and asked me my story. We chatted a bit and then she introduced me to everyone in the bar.
I stated playing pool with two of the regulars and asked one of them what were all the plaques on the wall. He told me pool tournament plaques, as I beat him. Wasn't sure how that would work out. I bought a round of Duck farts and it was all good.
Had a great time. Areal local bar. Walk in and respect their house.”

“Excellent dinner! If you’re looking for a good Italian restaurant, try Casa Nova. After our meal, we were saying how good the bread was and we found out it’s all made in house, and so is the Italian dressing. Casa Nova will definitely be on our rotation- and they do take-out!”

They made sure to check on me until my food came out and the wings were made perfectly not a lot of restaurants listen when I say crispy but these wings definitely were. We picked Mom’s Recipe - it was pretty dry; not a do over. Birthday Cake was very sweet. Milk Chocolate Chip was typical. It’s definitely an indulgence.”
