Pepperoni Pizza

“I am a s***** for discoveries. So I cheated a little and saw a TikTok of a guy going into the middle of Corona to buy pizza, what????? The Tiktok was pretty cool, they highlighted this guy who has a wood fired pizza oven on the corner of 111th st and 37th Ave. I thought the pizza looked great so I decided to drive over, the pizza takes a few minutes to make but it was well worth it. The price was super reasonable at $12-$15 a pie depending on the toppings and comes with 6 slices. Overall, I had a great experience but it didn't occur to me that today was raining, so the crust today felt a little under but because it was raining it would totally affect the outcome of the pie. I will be back to make a second visit. He has a google page and his ig is instagram.com/tauro_wfpi…. I would drive and I would also call ahead if you are in a rush. His hours are Tues-Sun 5pm to 11pm.The food:Quattro Stagion Pizza- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, artichoke, mushroom, ham, basil, black olives. I thought this was great, it was also my fav. I really enjoyed the fresh toppings and the addition of the fresh basil made a huge difference. With all their pies their tomato sauce is amazing. yelp.com/user_local_phot…Mexicana- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy sausage, jalapeno, onion and basil. This was really interesting and of course it had some heat. The sausage which I think was chorizo had a good texture and taste. I think they ran out of jalapeno so they used I think serrano chilies instead and even though they sliced it thin, it did have a punch of heat which I enjoyed. yelp.com/user_local_phot…Margeurita- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. This was the most simple but two out of the four of us said it was their fav. I did like it but to me it was a bit bare. Overall, it's good for purist. yelp.com/user_local_phot…“

“We are running 2 mins late at 7:02pm before they close. The owner and the sister are so gentle and friendly that they reopened the crepe iron just for us when they theoretically cleaned up everything; the foods are delicious and I believe it well worth my time driving 2 hrs from Hartford here just for the crepes! Recommend Wangzhongwang crepe and garlic ham crepe with seaweeds and eggs“

“amazing lamb , probably some of the best in the city! chicken n lamb salad for only $8 a plate and it’s some of the best around… Most places charge $12-15 for chicken w lamb salads and for $8 this is some of the best lamb around! A lot of other places also have very chewy lamb w a lot of fat and this place doesn’t have that! it’s completely different. I come here daily sometimes even twice a day and had lamb all over, he cooks it perfectly!“

Tamales

“Here's my honest opinion! If you're thinking about it - just do it like Nike said. Okay now let's get to the point I ordered the following 1. Guac & Chips - 4/5 Guac tasted fresh and had good chunks but needed more flava, the Chips are homemade and super crispy (i loved it) 2. Carne Asada Taco - 4/5 Tasty soft tortilla, tender juicy steak that lacked some flavor but the freshness of the onion, cilantro and lime with the red and green spicy sauce helped. Horchata 3/5 It's a milky rice drink with a nice cinnamon flavor and a touch of sweetness was refreshing but had some starchy thing at the bottom that made it hard to drink. Now the Best thing I ate was the Chicken Mole Tamale and Adobo Pork Tamale 5/5 my mouth is just salivating as I'm thinking about it. The Mole was sweet and savory and the pork was nice and tender, the Adobo Pork was also good! I am definitely going back tomorrow for more Tamales! A nice little Gem in the neighborhood.“

Gyro

“I came here at almost 2am because the prices of the deli on the corner are criminal. It was a good choice to come hereI’m glad I came because this was the best chicken gyro I have ever had in my life. By far. I like that they don’t prep the chicken with onions, so I was able to order it without onions. Also the chicken was very good quality meat. Not tons of fatty pieces which I hate. I live like 20 mins from here but I will 100% make the drive to go to this guys cart. He’s found his calling :)“

Abdul Halal Food Cart Middle Eastern • $

“Delicious, fresh chicken and lamb, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and served with a smile. Quality of the meats is above the usual cart fare, and it makes a big difference. We eat a LOT of halal cart food, and Abdul offers some of the best we’ve had. If you’re in the area (or flying out of JFK and have some extra time), it’s worth a small detour.“
