“Finally ordered takeout, just a few simple rolls (hamachi and a couple spicy ones) and some Nigiri (sake and hamachi). It was wonderful. Very fresh fish. Rice was a great temperature. I’m so grateful this place exists. I wish they were open for lunch.Parking: Small in the back“
“The food was amazing fresh steak and noodles the flavor was packed into a big plate for a great price!! Will be coming back again. Parking: Lots of spots near other stores in this plazaKid-friendliness: Very friendly staff and cozy nice little store“
“One of my top go to restaurants in Rochester. The staff are extremely nice and the food is outstanding. I highly recommend the spicy basil Thai noodles or the scallop hibachi. Their miso soup is the best I've ever had. If you're looking for a very down to earth Japanese/ Hibachi restaurant, Tokyo is the place to be.One thing I do wish is that they cook the hibachi in front of you instead of in the kitchen. The restaurant is definitely too small to have even one table to do that. However, it's well worth the price and the flavor to go here without the experience.“
“Went to sushi samba on a weekday. They had tables open but turned us away due to the amount of people, and we were ok with that! We would definitely prefer that to waiting too long for food. Went back on a weekend and got seated right away. You order on your phone which is convenient! Some of the food came out quickly and was very good! If you are looking for the best sushi in Rochester, that is definitely Shema, but if you want quantity and a unique experience, this is a great place! I think because they make all of their rolls to order that it is a little slower for some things. Overall, we liked this place!“
“As always, Shema is delish, with lots of options. The Shrek is a marvelously balanced treat. Yummy yummy was also very nice, with a bit more heat. We always enjoy the basic tempura shrimp crunch. Our only disappointment was the lunch hour was to go only. Home is 20 minutes away, so we balanced in our laps in the car so we could enjoy it hot. Everything was packaged well. The online order process was simple once we arrived and learned it was to go only. We saw others leave upon seeing the sign. Would be nice to have the option of online ordering but eat the "take out" at their tables. Saving them from having servers but allowing us to enjoy it there.“
“Definitely the best date night sushi restaurant in Rochester. The cocktails are very tasty. Ambience is brick, red low lighting, perfect. Then there's the food. Large portions come with the bowls and soups. They have some of the more creative new school rolls out there.“
“Moody atmosphere with A LOT of gluten free options!! All in all, a nice experience.Food: most things were delicious! You order a few things to share all at once and they come out when they are ready. We got a few skewers (chicken thigh and beef satay). I was expecting more than 1 skewer. The chicken was over seasoned (salty) but the beef satay was DELICIOUS! In general I felt like the portioning was off on most of the dishes (too little or too much). Really fresh papaya salad, probably the best I’ve had in Rochester so far.Service: slow and little communication. When we arrived no one greeted us for several minutes (5+) and we were left guessing where to wait or what to do, which I don’t like when going to a new place. Once someone saw us they explained it would be a few more minutes, which I’m fine with. It was the lack of communication when we got there. On the other hand, there was too much explanation of the menu. Despite it being my first time two people explained everything which was a lot of information. In general, ask me if I have questions after the first explanation and then move on. Also, asking if we were drinking or not would have saved time and effort about going into the drink menu for two people not ordering drinks. I will say, everyone was very friendly so that was great!Atmosphere: moody but fun. It’s a really cool space!! Loved the water bottles at the tables and easy access to chopsticks and napkins. You’ll have to ask for a fork and knife if you need those. If you sit at the bar, you’ll have a fun view of the kitchen and the chefs, which I love! We were supposed to be seated at a booth in the front but were placed in the back at a table. For date night, I was looking forward to a more intimate bench seating with my partner, but the table was nice too.Parking: street. The restaurant is on Park Ave, so street parking it is! I usually have success on a side street, just double check the signs to know which side since it switches each evening.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian and Gluten free optionsParking: Street parking on and near Park Ave“
“I was pleasantly surprised by this cute little food court setting! My vegetable ramen was SO good with fresh ingredients. I also love how the broth is kept separate from the noodles & veggies; you empty the little steam basket into the broth when ready! The portions were huge, so I had it for lunch the next day. Usually, noodles are weird and soggy after sitting in broth, but these were perfect! Towards the end of my meal, I was replacing the lid on my ramen when the friendly staff member came over to offer me a to-go bag for my container! I highly recommend visiting.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian noodle soup!Parking: Huge parking lots with additional free parkingKid-friendliness: Safe environment“
“Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was casual. Both the gyoza and shumai are delicious fried pillows filled with pork mixture and shrimp mixture? Signature Rolls (raw) the King of the Ocean was our favorite and highly recommend!!! Signature Rolls (cooked) Honey Roll was our favorite and both the Snow White and Coconut were tied in second and highly recommend!!!? Thank you Youkoso Sushi?“
