“I’ve tried a lot of Indian restaurants but this is the best so far. The food is bursting with flavor and they give you a good amount. My favorite dishes so far are the chicken biryani, chicken tikka and garlic naan. The mango lassi is refreshing, cool and tasty. Even my 11 month old baby likes it. I can’t wait to try the other foods. The staff is kind as well.“
“I went for an iftar and the food is sooo good. I have had this place on my list for over a year, and should have come sooner. The burger was so delicious. the quality of meat ?? The lamb chops were uniquely spicy and full of flavor.I dont often eat burgers, but I will come back again during Ramadan. Craving it at the moment.“
“At first glance, you would think this shop is just a wholesaler, but to my surprise you can actually buy boxes too!! They have a wide array/variety of sweets and all of them looked heavenyl. The gentleman whowas running the place is extremely professional and helpful. He allowed me to sample 4-5 pieces of the sweet itself. I ended up buying 4 small boxes and 2 big boxes. Toally affordable priced as well! My favorite was definitely the “Mango barfi” which is a milk based sweet. I finally have a place i can go to for all my sweet needs! Especially since it is Ramadan and sweets are necessary for every iftaar.“
“I visited De Tandoori Knight on a Saturday 4/6/24. I was dining alone. The customer service was excellent. The restaurant was small but very clean and organized. The prices were excellent and the portions were great. I ordered Chicken Korma with Basmati rice, regular Naan bread and a Mango Lassi. The chicken was very tender, the sauce was creamy, delicious and not spicy. The Naan was good. I loved the Lassi. I had leftovers. I will definitely be returning. I am Puerto Rican and grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Growing up here there were no Indian restaurants. So happy to see more Indian restaurants now. I've been eating Indian food for about 20 years. To my Latinos try Indian food you might just love it. Not all dishes are Spicy. Visit this restaurant you may just love it like I did.“
“Please DO NOT use Doordash as your delivery option. Twice I did not receive my order ( puri aloo) and the delivery person showed it as delivered.Ofcourse Doordash refunded my money. But it is very disappointing to keep waiting for your order to realize that you will never get it.“
“Great sweets. Everything was really fresh. We picked up some sweets for family and everyone loved how fresh it was. I want to go back and try other sweets and maybe some samosas and other menu items. They also let us try things too. Only issue we had was we went late and they ran out of some stuff but that’s expected late in the day I guess“
“We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Chaat Wala. The papri chaat and golgape were expertly prepared and delicious. Ingredients were fresh, presentation was excellent. We also had delicious chicken kebab and butter chicken. Our server Farhana was so kind, professional and attentive! We would love to keep in the know about your next endeavor!“
“Very quiet and attentive restaurant in the area. Tried their lamb shank which was delicious . My real concern was smell but to my surprise it didn’t have any funny smell to it. Overall great flavor and texture. Definitely coming back to try more of their dishes.“
“One of the best Indian restaurants in/around Nassau. I have no time to go to Jackson Highets, but this place accommodates our craving for good Indian foods. Samosa Chaat here is a gem. I can eat this forever. I also love their butter chicken and garlic naan. Service is super good. A young Indian man is always behind the counter to serve. He is very friendly and kind.“
“Food was really amazing here. Their naans were really well cooked and Puffy. Goat and chicken Karahis were very delicious. Chicken Bahari was very sizzling and tasty. I highly recommend this place. It's family friendly and service here is awesome.“
“Great prices, portions, and good food. Tried the chicken chapli kebab and samosa chaat which were really good. The samosa chaat was flavorful and the kebab was juicy. The chicken halim wasn't great, not enough spice and tasted like it was made from a packet and the rasmalai was too watery. All in all, food was mostly worth it and I would try out other menu items.“
“Excellent taste, large portions with reasonable price. The owner was so much nice and the hospitality was great. we ordered numerous items and the taste was authentic. However it's not a chic restaurant, so if anyone prefers ambiance over taste, it's not for them. To me, it's a perfect replica of our "Desi Dhaba". Fully recommended to Indian/Pakistani taste buds“
“I am a traveller, was staying near JFK and wanted to eat indo Pak Dinner.Got a food Ubered to my hotel.Tried the goat curry, roti, chicken Biriyani and tandoori chicken leg.All the items were fresh and was tasty. GOAT curry and ROTI were my favorites as they were packed with Flavors, ROTI was soft.Great place to try desi food“
“While I've dined inside twice before and always enjoyed the delicious food and wonderful service, today I opted for take out and ordered ahead on-line. I was not disappointed. I received the same warm welcome when I arrived and actually received a text that said my food was ready a few minutes early. Great day for chicken vindaloo, delicious and spicy.Parking: As with any business in the area, on street parking is non-existent during mid-day business rush hours. There are spots for paid parking on the street, but you've got to circle to find them. There is a paid municipal parking lot up the hill at 30th Ave and 38th Street.“
“good people and noble ventures. You don’t need a silver fork to eat tasty good food.... the best Punjab food I ever taste in my young life..is so good and tasty yum yummy in my tummy..“
“We stopped in here because we saw a picture of Siwayan in the window. We had tried it on another trip before and were excited to have it again. They were out of it for the day but offered us a rice pudding instead. It was amazing!!! I wish I was hungrier when we came because their food looked great and I would have loved to try it.“
“I was searching the area and found this restaurant as it was the nearest one. I would like to start by saying that the paid parking is readily available. I had read great reviews about their Chicken Karahi and I wanted to give it a shot. I entered the restaurant and was greeted by an awesome server. I started looking through the menu and it was time for prayer and the nice server who was Hindu provided me with praying mat. It was a great gesture. Right after I finish praying, I placed the order for Gol Gappay, Papri Chaat, Fish Pakora, Fries, Lahori Chicken Karahi, Beef Nihari, Butter Naan, Cheese Naan, Mango Lassi and Sweet Lassi. I must say that their Chicken Karahi and Beef Nihari is definitely the best and you should try it. Everything tasted delicious as well. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The ambiance of the restaurant has only positive vibes. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are around the area.“
“Mithas is a neighborhood institution, and I am shocked I haven't written about them before. This is an unassuming Pakistani restaurant on the bustling Coney Island Avenue. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the crowds of neighbors waiting on their food. Service is pretty efficient, they don't take long to bring food out. I recently gave their mix grill sizzler a try which is made to order. The kabab tasted very fresh, the tikka was my favorite. Seekh kabab and other pieces of chicken were also good, although overall I found the meat a bit on the dry side. The samosas here are the absolute best in the neighborhood, the shell is crispy and thin, properly fried and the filling is delicious. Sweet sauce and green sauce are very good. Makhani chicken was average, but Im happy the sauce wasn't too runny or too greasy. There's some room for improvement with cleanliness, when it's busy here; I've had to take the spray bottle and wipe down the table top myself, but it's kind of like coming home and helping out... they are also very well known for their mango cream cake/pastry which is very delicious. If you are in the neighborhood stop by for the chai, samosa, chaat, pastries and everything in between.“
“They are a typical North Indian Punjabi food restaurant Their food is excellent and flavors are and authentic just like food cooked in state of Punjab in India .
