“Came here with my family for an early dinner on Good Friday. Trying to hit the best Fish Fry places in Upstate NY, I think we found the best one. Definitely an upscale fish fry experience. Great little restaurant. Ordered the Fish and Chips. Love the panko breaded fish over a beer battered one. We also ordered the crispy shrimp which was great. The key to a great fish fry is the Tatar sauce in my opinion, and it was great here. Would return 100%. Also, Good Friday is probably the busiest time for a seafood restaurant and they were killing it with take out orders and the people dining in. They definitely know what they are doing.“

“This place was absolutely fun! The workers were awesome! And even tho I wasn't really hungry, I did have their french fries and they were delicious! And I got to play Ms Pacman! I hadn't played that arcade game in over 40 years! It brought back wonderful memories of how I met my late husband :)Kid-friendliness: Even tho there is an open bar (adults have to show ID's) this place is very kid friendly as arcade games surround the room.“

Tallman Cocktail Club Cocktail Bar • $$
219 W Fayette St, Syracuse

“WOW!! So impressed with this place! It is the perfect spot for a date night or girls night out. My husband and I tried it for the first time last year, but I was pregnant at the time and could only have a mocktail. They do have amazing mocktails, though, if that's what you're looking for! We had a reservation, but didn't need one as there were several tables available. We were promptly seated and put in our drink orders. The drinks here are like no other place in the area. I went with the Chichenita and my husband had the penicillin. The prickly pear cold foam was amazing. Their regular menu is limited, offering various appetizers, charcuterie boards and paninis, but we went for the Dining Weeks menu. I ordered the crab cake, smothered chicken and chocolate chip cookie. My husband had the stuffed portobello, seafood stew and cheesecake. For a small cocktail bar with an even smaller kitchen behind the bar, we were so impressed with the quality of the dishes. The single chef worked her magic and produced top-level dishes that you would find at a 5-star restaurant. Everything came out hot and stayed warm the entire time I was eating it. Do yourself a favor and don't sleep on this place!“

Ye Olde Clipper Tavern Bar • $

“This place is truly a gem in the Syracuse area. We recently had a birthday party here and it was perfect. The owner, Pete, couldn’t be nicer and was incredibly accommodating. He wanted to make sure we had the perfect day and it was nothing shy of just that! I very strongly recommend the clipper tavern for a causal happy hour, a place to watch SU sports, a place to throw a party, and any/everything in between!!“

“I love it here. The last time I was here, it was very crowded. There was a game on. But, there were open tables and seats at the bar. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered a burger with salad and fries. I would highly recommend ordering this! It was hot, fresh and delicious. I would love to come back and try more of their options. I love the ambiance here; it's very cozy and relaxed. I can't wait to stop back here.“

“My husband and I reserved the Gilded Club for our wedding and reception and could not have been happier. The space was large and we were able to rearrange some to accommodate our guests. Staff were incredibly cooperative and checked in often to see what we needed. They also recommended a DJ that was absolutely amazing! I'd give them a hundred stars if I could! We'll definitely be back for a night out.“

“Very nice trendy atmosphere. The menu is intriguing and offer some Italian, and steaks and seafood. Eaten here twice so far and have not been disappointed. The bartenders do a great job with drinks and knowing the menu. The food portions are plentiful. It seems like you can go from spending under $20-$50 on food choices here for entrées.“
