“Love the food here! Definitely worth the wait. I recommend the guacamole with mango and the strawberry lemonade. It does get pretty busy on the weekend so if you are in a rush come on a weekday instead! However if you are having a chill weekend definitely dine in and get a molcajete with the green sauce. The presentation is beautiful. Shout to the servers, cooks, and delivery guys for all their hard work.Vegetarian options: Most of their dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan. The rice and beans is animal product free!“

“Absolutely delicious Oaxacan food. I've always wanted to visit Oaxaca and this place definitely gave us a taste of what it will be like. The restaurant is small with a few tables but it wasn't crowded when we went for lunch on a holiday Monday. My boyfriend and I shared the mole poblano, mole oaxaqueño, and molcajete. The mole dishes came with rice, beans, and warm tortilla and I also got a small horchata. Everything came out piping hot and fresh, bursting with flavor with every bite. Nothing was too spicy but if you like sweeter things, I would highly recommend the mole poblano.“
“These people do not have disposable utensils whatsoever! Food is good, but if people order out it is only common courtesy to provide disposable utensils. I was on my break and it was impossible to find disposable utensils. That really bothered me.“

“This is the best place to get Mexican food in yonkers, I've tried a lot of places in the area but nothing comes close to here. I've had Tacos Al Pastor, Tacos Dorados and Enchiladas de Mole Poblano. They also make incredible in house hot sauces. The only thing they do not have is any hard liquor on site, so don't expect margaritas but the food is enough to satisfy anyone, come check out this hidden gem in Yonkers!“
“The owner of this restaurant, Victor, is the main star here. I have never met a restaurant owner that has shown such incredible hospitality like Victor has. He is incredible and the main reason we will always come back. The food is outstanding as well. The shrimp enchiladas are my go to every time. The shrimp is always cooked perfectly and cut into small pieces which I love. The sauce on the enchiladas is so flavorful and delicious that I dip my chips in it as well. My boyfriend loves the burrito! He gets it every time as well. The restaurant is cozy and has a rei Mexican authentic feel to it. We're so grateful to have Victor and his amazing restaurant so close to us!“
“The place was great, as well as the food. Service was good, only downside.. I ordered 2 rounds of Don Julio shots. Each on a separate check and tipped gwnerously. The second round of shots, the bartender (or waiter), poured an extra shot. When delivered to the table, they asked if we wanted the shot. Well, sure...so I thought. The gentlemen explained he had to charge me. I declined. There was no need for another shot as we ordered a round of drinks with our food, as well. Other than that little awkward moment, the place was great. Grilled octopus was good, mac n cheese creamy and cheesy, and tuna tostados, really good. One friend had the muscles, and she raved about them. My other friend had the chilaquiles, and she said it tasted like mom's. Overall, highly recommend. (FRIDA drink shown in photo....delicious!)“

“Recently came here and the burgers are good! It’s the sister store to George’s Deli on 28th and 37th street. But anyways the place is relatively new but it has way more to offer it’s not just a place where you get deli food but now they offer Mexican dishes. On top of that they have a variety of Mexican products! I feel right at home here. Also one of the employees told me they sell specific mexican dishes on the weekends like barbacoa. Definitely recommend you visit!“
“This is a very underrated truck in the city. One of the best birria spots I've tried in a while. I tried this place on new years, and it was sooo good, I dragged any of my friends that mentioned anything about food that day. I first got the birria torta, which was a heavenly sandwich, and a great deal for 10$. I also went back for a birria quesadilla, which was also really good! The service was quick both times, and I really appreciate them keeping reasonable prices on new years, with 1 dollar waters and 2 dollar sodas! I can't speak too much about the ambiance because I assume this was a temporary location for new years, but I would follow this truck anywhere. No food pics, food was gone way before I ever thought about taking a picture.“

“I've been to Tobalá a couple of times since they opened, and their food, drinks, and service have always been great. But last night, they were absolutely stunning. I tried a few dishes (Memelas de Wagyu and Enmoladas de Pato) for the first time, and I was in shock, super delicious!! I want to congratulate their staff and owners for their constant effort to elevate the experience at Tobalá and improve every day, bringing this beautiful concept to the community. Definitely my favorite restaurant in the area.“
“It's a great spot to eat. I have always passed by and the color and decor attracted me. The food is good and the prices aren't bad. They have a big menu. Lots of options to choose from and happy hour is till 8! The place isn't too big but it's cozy and has outdoor seating. Try it out!“
“I ordered two beef steak quesadillas with the flour taco and those were absolutely fantastic!! Tender bits of steak, and a green chile sauce and a red hot sauce served in small plastic cups to pour all over these heavenly dishes! Enter the Tacos; I want you guys to know that you cannot order just ONE taco, they need to be ordered two at a time. So if you want just ONE taco they won't sell it to you! I ordered two chicken tacos and two steak (carnitas) tacos WITHOUT CILANTRO ! I'm allergic to cilantro. They did a great job of cleaning the stove top before they prepared and heated my food order. Also I told them my wife is allergic to pork, (she's Muslim & it's just easier to tell chefs at these type of establishments that my wife has "allergies" to any pork products. The Tacos were good. Not amazing, but satisfying. I then ordered the chicken fingers which came with a HUGE portion of hot, steamy, French fries! The fries were fried to perfection and the potato flavor was not overpowered by the oil it was fried in. The fries were pretty much perfection. The chicken fingers were square pieces of fried chicken covered in a dark brown bread crumb with some green herbs in the bread crumbs that I could not identify. I didn't like the chicken fingers. They were not what I was expecting. The breading was not tasty and there were short and stubby cuts of flat chicken. I didn't like the looks or the taste. All of this came out to 41$ and some change. I thought overall the food, minus the chicken fingers was fresh- well prepared - and appetizing. The price is a little steep for my pockets. So I probably wouldn't be going here all the time because of pricing alone. Overall the place is very clean and the food appears to be fresh and delicious; but skip the chicken fingers.... “This is my first Yelp review ever but this modest little restaurant deserves it. Not only is the food surprisingly delicious but the owners and staff are warm, welcoming and generous. They always offer something while waiting for take out and when eating in they take the time to talk to you and make you feel part of things. They even remember me from one visit to another which is something I never experienced before. I fully recommend. Everything is good but we particularly love the Burria tacos only served on weekends as well as the specials they offer which are always .. well... special!“

“The spot is super small. Only 3 stools available for seating. The food was delicious! I had the chicken, steak and pork tacos. All three were delicious but the pork taco was soooo good. The pork meat is mixed with ear. It’s the ‘mixto’ pork taco. The staff is very friendly. When I’m back I want to try the birria and al pastor proteins.“

“when you enter the interior is kind of odd with one table inside along with a few window seats (two tables outside) but don’t let that turn you away. the food was fresh & tasty.I ordered the Chilaquiles & the grilled chicken caesar wrap. the Chilaquiles had a wonderful green sauce & lots of yummy cheese. the caesar wrap was jam packed with fresh crunchy lettuce, avocado, caesar dressing, & grilled chicken.(side note, the fries were delicious too! thin, crispy, & seasoned well!)it’s a small business folks…food takes time. this isn’t fast food mediocrity!the service was great & attentive. it’s a solid choice! “Small, cozy atmosphere with yummy food and drinks. Guacamole was fresh, chips crisp. Chuleta al pastor amazing with its pineapple jam, moro and shaved brussel sprouts salad. The corn was yummy. I expected the maple maduros to be sweeter because of the maple but they were regular maduros which was still perfectly fine. Tamarind margarita and mezcal drink were perfect. I will definitely recommend and be back.“

“Visiting family in Westchester from Los Angeles - Molcajete definitely passed the bar. The shrimp was big, juicy and fresh, the steak (we got the Molcajete, so it came with everything) was a nice cut and well cooked. Salsas were all super tasty and the guac was legit. Only slight LA pickiness is that it was missing the nopal.“
“Great addition to the list of authentic Mexican restaurants in 138th street. The food and service are stellar at the upscale Hacienda Agave. We started out with appetizers- tortas with chicharrón, ceviche, tlacoyo, tuna tostadas and esquisites. It was all delicious. Next up were quesadilla de Carnitas: soo good! The mole de pollo which was phenomenal and every dish tasted better than the next. The Chamorra was my favorite- lamb shank in a rich stew, we also had the Branzino- which came beautifully wrapped in corn husk, it was moist and had a very delicate scent of herbs. For dessert: the churros were crispy and soft with dulce de leche. The tres leches was perfect and not too sweet and the flan was velvety and rich. The cocktails are varied and there are choices for all tastes. I started off with a non alcohol drink- cucumber and ginger- the bar was so accommodating and made our dinner party horchata martinis and a non alcoholic horchata martini! Highly Recommend !“
“My first time trying this place since it changed its name. We ordered tamales, tacos and a torta. Tamales taste authentic, much larger than what I’m used too, but that’s a plus. Torta had a lot of meat, very good. Tacos were also very good, and loaded with meat. I enjoyed the salsa verde and the spicy red salsa as well. I’ve been hoping for a good authentic Mexican spot in Whitestone so I don’t have to drive to College Point or Corona, so glad I gave this place another chance.“
“Nice local owned restaurant serving Mexican and Peruvian cuisine. The server was very sweet and friendly. Definitely try their local inca drinks. Mine was made with Passion fruit. It was so refreshing and good. Loved their ceviche had a great kick of spice and lemon to it. Also the salted steak was very good too. Portions were large so i wrapped half of my meal to take home.“

They maximized the space to have a decent amount of seating plus tables, indoors and outdoors. Yes, they have a rear outdoor patio. The staff was very polite, greeting us as we entered and when exiting. I opted for the Salmon Ceviche on the menu as Tiradito de Salmon, which was very tasty, I definitely recommend it. Since the serving sizes were smaller fine dining portions, I ordered the hard shell fish taco, Tacos Dorados, which were decent, but the Ceviche was much better.“

“After a miscommunication with our reservation time for 15 of us, Eliseo went out of his way to accommodate us as best he could. Dinner was wonderful, everything everyone ordered was delicious. I had the Korean tacos and they were so good. They also make the guac right in front of the table and was delicious, you get to choose if you want spicy or not. Highly recommend this place if you want to indulge in some Mexican food with a Mariachi band that takes requests on a Friday night. “My Fiance and I have been looking for a place close by that has good, truly authentic Dominican food and Maria did not disappoint! We both got the pernil with rice, beans, and maduros - everything was full of flavor and FRESH. Portions were also more than plenty, we ended up bringing our leftovers home. Chips and salsas were also complimentary and just as tasty! Maria was so sweet and attentive, and took the time to chat and get to know us. She mentioned having breakfast available and we will def be returning soon to try it out!“
