“I cannot recommend Porchlight enough! I have become a frequent flyer— no seriously— twice a dad visits. I love the convenience of their online ordering in the morning and their great cafe space for lunch. There is no wrong answer when it comes to their variety of flavors for your lattes. Truly a skillfully crafted coffee menu along with flavor-packed food options. My absolute favorite menu item is their harvest Cobb salad. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH! Dried cranberries, grilled chicken, feta (I think), walnuts, topped with the to-die-for maple vinaigrette on a bed of lettuce. Seriously, there is NO reason NOT to go to Porchlight. Cheers!”

“I will be honest, I haven’t eaten there yet but just had the greatest experience that restored my faith in humanity just a little bit. I was in the Akron area for training with TNVC and I assume my iPad was stolen. Today it pinged at someone’s house and then it pinged in the parking lot of the Basement a few hours after I locked it and left a message for the would be thief. I called and spoke with Stephanie, and after explaining what had happened she was king enough to walk to the parking lot while I pinged it. The thief had dumped my iPad in the dumpster, thankfully not too deep. I just wanted to say that Stephanie was amazing for being such a good person and helping someone with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Next time my family and I are in the Akron/waterloo area I will make sure I patronize The Basement if only to help repay a bit of the kindness shown! This is how a neighborhood restaurant does it!”

She was incredibly helpful and patient thru the process of deciding on flavors for our cupcakes — and they were all absolutely delicious. Our guests raved about the entire dessert table. The macarons and the cupcakes were by far everyone’s favorite! We would highly recommend Gina for all your dessert needs.”

“Y'know, the older I get,the more of a pizza snob I'm becoming. A really good sausage pizza was becoming ridiculously hard to find. Until.today. I can remember my older bro and his wife ordering from Regina's when I was a kid 50 years ago. There's a reason they're a legend. This pizza was outstanding. Wonderful, soft crust, great amount of sauce and sausage that was cooked to perfection. Jojos had a peculiar smoke taste, like baked potatoes cooked over a campfire. Fantastic food. “I came for early dinner and missed the Saturday night rush. The atmosphere was nice with decor and soft music. There was a full bar separate from the dining room and more than one dining room. They had a nice offering of wine on the menu. I started with a salad with house dressing. Fresh shredded cheese topped it off. It was good. There was also a basket of Italian bread that comes fresh every morning from local Massoli bakery. It was really good. I ordered the ravioli combo which is house made every morning. The combo had 9 large ravioli, 3 meat, 3 spinach and 3 cheese. They were very good. I got a side of house made hot Italian sausage with marinara. I really liked it. I finished with a house made cannoli which was excellent. Service was great and I enjoyed the meal. They have many house made items on the menu so I would like to come back and try some more. I read that the lasagna is popular and they have daily specials. I highly recommend.”

“Stopped in around 9:30 pm on a Friday for some donuts. The gentleman working the counter apologized for not having fresh filled donuts and cream sticks available however fresh cake donuts were up for grabs and some donuts that were left over from earlier in the day. I went with an assorted dozen- vanilla and chocolate coconut frosted cake donuts, a couple glazed, some powder sugar donuts both regular and cinnamon sugar, a devils food, lemon sour cream, regular sour cream, blueberry, and a chocolate frosted. I wish I could say there was a favorite but there wasn’t. All the donuts were so fresh and had a little crisp to them! Even the next day the donuts were fresh- even after cutting into most of them to try pieces none of the donuts went stale or hardened over night. The frosting was still soft as well. Great little donut shop, don’t let their hours get you they open back up in the evenings if you miss them in the mornings. Will be going back”

Their credit card machines were down when I went to pick up my carry out order, they offered to take down my card information so I was able to still get my order. I was a little nervous but I let him take my information as well as my name and number. I just received a text message with a photo of my ticket and then a photo of my ticket ripped up to ensure my information was destroyed. They took the time to do this with each person that trusted them with their information. I think this shows the type of business they are and I am blown away!”

I'll admit this is probably about the best option for a pho or ramen craving if you're in the Akron area,but if you're willing to drive further north to Cleveland, you'll find yourself with much higher quality options at a much lower price point.

Based on the competition and what you receive for what you pay, overall rating is 4 stars. Bottom line - it will satisfy your cravings in a pinch, but if you're willing to travel, the competition is much better.”

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was delightful. I had the shrimp scampi and daughters had salmon. This is definitely on our list of favorites. We had a pleasant surprise, we had to wait a little bit longer for our food due to other big parties (no big deal to us), however the management came to our booth and apologized for the slight delay and took care of the whole bill for the night. We did not have to pay a dime. WOW!. We have been to other restaurants but never received such pleasant service. On top of such wonderful gesture, I was given a signature glass as a birthday gift. KUDOS to Erica, Tracy and our server Navel (i hope i spelled it right). We thank you sincerely for making our day. We will definitely come back again.”

Our waitress Trinity not only remembered us from a previous visit but remembered our orders just the way we liked them.

The kitchen staff had a difficult time preparing orders for our party. Some of our guest never received their meals while at least three others were served as others finished dining.

I would recommend this kfc out of all the ones in Akron. I live in green and pass a couple and will drive the extra time to enjoy the experience at the west market kfc!”
