“The flavor of the food was quite good, though the coconut chicken curry was a bit soupy and light on the chicken. For $24, the quantity of the food should have included more food. Thankfully there was warm bread and dipping sauce served before and during the meal to help fill us up.”

“Tucked away on the fringe of Ohio University's campus happenings, you will find Ciro, an Italian restaurant featuring both traditional eats and at-home favorites. With a window into the kitchen, you can see your order being made fresh and the freshness is only further highlighted by the taste of the actual meal. Most notably, I ordered the special which featured a polenta crusted cod, risotto and broccoli. The fish tasted fresh and was cooked well. The risotto was the perfect consistency and the broccoli was vibrant, green and tender. The service was excellent and we were able to get a table on a Friday night without a reservation.”

“It's a nice tap room and if you love Bourbon barrel aged beers they've got your fill. My only complaint was the parking lot. It's kind of hard to find.”

“Ohio University game day—Halloween weekend. Found this place uptown. Upon opening, they became very busy. However, we had excellent service from Elise. The portobello mushroom sandwich was phenomenal! Side salad was very nice! Will be back the next time we are in town!”

“Very friendly, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and vibe. The staff were all very friendly and explained their menu options in detail, and checked on us frequently. The food was delicious, great people and amazing vibes.Vegetarian options: I got very lucky going on a day there were serving vegetarian soup and meals, they do one set meal, and soup or salad a day so it would be best to call in advance if you have dietary concerns.”

“Spectacular!! The ambient of the place was perfection for a 1st date. Cozy, with not only a bar and tables, but couches too.. The artichoke dip was delicious. Staff was helpful and paid attention to detail”

“Went on the advice of many a parent comment on OU Parents’ social media pages…this restaurant is a gem and I wish we’d discovered it years ago! Such a wonder atmosphere, great service and such unique and delicious meals!Dietary restrictions: We asked about certain ingredients for food allergy reasons and they were very thorough in their answers!”

“My little girl (age 4) and I made reservations via the website for this evenings dinner. I specified that this was her first time to OU and that she was going through some intense testing that day. We arrived tired and hungry, and the lovely host asked us to wait for the manager. The Manager took us back to the nearest table that they had decked out in OU gear just for her. She made a silly kid request (she only wanted chips if they had cheese dip) and they honored it with a glorious pot of melty cheese for her. My ribeye was perfect. To cap the evening off with benigets was the highlight as she never is sad blowing out a candle. Overall, 20/10 experience - highly recommend and we will be back!Kid-friendliness: Hot dog arrived plain with choices of ketchup and mustard to choose from. Chips were fresh. Kitchen made cheese dip for her even though not listed on the menu. She also had a kid menu with crayons to draw on. Her cup was plastic and had a lid and straw.”

“Fantastic Thai food and drink. I've eaten food from Dr. Mays on probably 2 dozen occasions at various events in and around Athens, at her food ? and now at the new brick and mortar location on E. State St. (See photos).The food has always been excellent. My favorite is her basil chicken. Highly recommend.”

“Food was delicious. Tables and seats were clean. Bathrooms were a 4 out of 10. They were dirty and the urinal was just up to your hips.Other thank that its a great place for some mexican food.”

“First visit and loved it, very friendly and Our waiter was so friendly and gave great service and did not have too wait to be seated and did not have to wait very long on our food, food was awesome, my Husband and I will visit again for sure, we drove an hour just to have our 33rd Anniversary Dinner here, we made the right call coming here to celebrate, we were very pleased. Updated: Back for our 36th Anniversary 2024, our waitress was great and very friendly. Food was delicious had to take home, loved their fried pickles with ranch.”
