Loved the grand bread service and French onion soup is a flavor bomb. Steak was overcooked and my piece was extra fatty, even for a ribeye, which was disappointing because it was a premium price, thus the 4 stars. Server was good, but I couldn't hear her over the bartenders shaking drinks as we were the closest table to the bar. Seems weird as we were only a 4 top, but I asked her to repeat, and still couldn't hear her. Other than that, she was good as she took a drink off our bill because it wasn't made correctly. If you like Pistachio, the Pistachio cake was to die for. If I go back, it will be for happy hour, because what I wanted to order is on the happy hour menu.”

“Came for a birthday party and can't say I'd be back. There were several problems. First off, I waited 40 minutes for a coke. Seems like everyone else got their alcohol though which also had a very long wait. The server Cici was awful to say the least. She couldn't get anything right. My husband ordered the rib dinner and i had the two meats and two sides (brisket and ribs). The ribs were very good, I would definitely order them again if I ever came back. But the brisket was absolutely awful. The toughest, driest piece of meat I've ever bitten, tasteless with no bark whatsoever. They were out of rib tips which I was honestly disappointed about but the ribs were bomb. They were moist yet tender cooked to perfection. The macaroni and cheese *and believe me I don't eat everybody's* was really really good. The greens had too much vinegar but were still enjoyable. The baked beans (Fire whoever made them immediately) literally took a can of bushes and added green peppers and onion. I ordered my 2 year old a smoked wing appetizer and some fries. WE GOT MY 2 YEAR OLDS FOOD AS WE WERE PACKING UP OURS, He literally ate my whole plate because he had no food. I ordered the garlic parm on the side and of course when they brought his wings it was covered in garlic parm. The fries were so full of salt they weren't edible but I got over that quickly. Still being very very generous I told the waitress I would be paying for my friend for his birthday. She didn't just charge my card for my best friends meal, but for everyone else at the table almost 300$. How do you make that kind of mistake. I believe it was intentional. After that I just ran out of there. The service however bad, still didn't overshadow that the food was really good. I just wouldn't order the brisket agian and definitely tell them no salt on your fries”

We were in Cleveland for the night, and Balance was close to where we were staying so I decided to give it a try. The girl working at the counter was AMAZING! She was so helpful and super interactive with my son, literally mirroring his excitement. I know this is something small, but I have worked in the service industry and I know how infrequent it is to get positive feedback. I’m sorry I didn’t catch the girl’s name (she was tall with long blonde hair), but she was fantastic and really made us feel welcome. Absolutely amazing pizza done with passion, intent and true skill that only comes from a master of their craft. Upon entering the small, clean and purposeful shop the aroma of fresh ingredients and flour dusted surfaces will have you under its spell. It’s obvious the place means business. Options for pizza toppings are not as limited as the hours but after the first bite you will be a believer. Conversations with the owner/Pizzolo while we waited and preformed his dough magic transported us right to the city of Naples. His knowledge and stories made our 15 minute wait seem like an only a few seconds. Not being able to decide we ended up getting two pies and we’re glad we did! Crisp thin crusts with those dark “leopard spots”, perfectly balanced sauce and low moisture cheese ratio with just the right amount of toppings including basil picked fresh from the plant. This type of pizza might not be for everyone but it’s definitely a contender for Cleveland’s best. Very demure, very mindful.

The pictures don’t do the food justice because every single thing I try is phenomenal. Overnight oats are SUPERIOR, I have always skipped breakfast and now I no longer have to. I ordered by the LB broccoli, rice, chicken, ground beef and hummus for my lunches this week and I can’t wait to eat at the office now. Food truly is fuel and I am so grateful that my brother and co workers referred me to ZDC. BIG PLUS, the food comes in the best quality hot/cold food bag and I use it to bring my ZDC meals back and forth to and from home and work. The Aperol and espresso cocktails were delicious, as were each of our dishes: New Mexico green chile bowl, caesar salad, chicken tinga bowl and fried chicken and waffles. Portions were ample but not overwhelming. We had a great view of the river, although the patio did get rather noisy as the early afternoon wore on. Still, we enjoyed the Lakehouse very much and would love to return.”

The food was delicious, fresh, authentic, and a good value (portion sizes were large). The colorful decor transports you to Mexico City. The only thing that was a little strange was that the bench seat was way too high for the tables. Definitely will be back!”
