“I have returned from my hiatus to speak on behalf of parable (again). Pastries just wake me up like nothing else. I say that but every time I try to get to parable "early" (i.e., before 10am), I fail to do so ;'( But it's ok! These days there are still goodie pastries available for the sleepy birbs (hurrah) Unfortunately, my gastrointestinal system did not hunger at that hour of the morn, so the spinach artichoke danish was a bit of an underwhelming experience, even though the danish was freshly toasted ;'( I liked the chip though (cronch). Otherwise, it kind of gave artichoke dip but served in a pastry vessel instead of a plastic container. I enjoyed the honey grapefruit brûlée circle croissant and guava cream cheese pastelito more. Neither were too sweet and both had nice crispity crunchities! Service was very thoughtful as well! Whenever staff brought pastries to someone's table, they'd always ask if the person would like a fork and would then go run and grab one. I personally prefer to go feral on my food with my fingers but the gesture seemed very kind. Also, I'm pretty sure the entire album of The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess was played. “If you are a FOODIE and have been wanting Birria tacos, you have to come here! I drove two hours to get these tacos because I've been wanting Birria bad and they were worth the drive. Crispy shell, rich beef flavor, fresh onions and cilantro and the consomme is on point. Every bite was tasty, not bland like other places in Ohio, you can actually taste the spices. This is Authentic Tijauana style red Birria tacos like you see with food bloggers on IG. The staff was super friendly. The best days to go are Thurs-Sat when the Birria is available all day. Get there early because they sell out fast.“

Yes, her pastries are out of this world and I could wax poetic on them - specifically the sweet potato one, look if you know you know - but this review is for the absolute masterpiece of a wedding cake that she put together for us. Because we’re long standing customers, we actually ended up doing both the spring/summer and the fall/winter tasting boxes. There is no wrong answer here, every single cake she makes is delicious, but we ended up going with the pretty traditional almond raspberry with the raspberry jam. “We came on an extremely busy night (St. Patrick’s Day weekend and during Ramadan) and the place was packed. We had a large group of 7 and the chef and staff went out of their way to get us seated, pushing tables together and checking on us multiple times to make sure we were comfortable. “My boyfriend and I went here for our first time for their St. Patrick’s Day party. We decided to get food from the Chef Shack food truck they have there. All the food was delicious! The bartender was super nice and personable, and made great drinks. And he was very efficient as well. Never had to wait to get another drink, even though they got fairly busy. I had the Bloody Mary bar which I loved. Great topping choices and I like that I can create it myself to my liking. They have many great drink choices. Even the patrons there were all very nice! I liked the atmosphere and they also had a live band that day as well as some Irish dancers. Their outside are looked nice as well, but it was too chilly to stay out there and enjoy it this time. Even though it is about 20 minutes from home, I was very impressed and we will definitely be going back!“

When my sandwich came out, I didn't like the grilled onions. I asked if I could get raw instead. They not only got what I wanted, but they took the sandwich back and I was given a new one...new bread, new everything. The chef brought it out himself, apologized, and in spite of me begging to pay, took my sandwich off the bill. The GM, Amanda Jones, was working with her staff and was readily available when they needed her. The food was great. Vegetable soup was delicious and my fried bologna was just like mom used to make...thick cut, mustard, and onion on white toast (they serve on a bun, but I requested bread). Hubby ordered a burger and fries, which were also great. Awesome experience. We'll definitely be back.“

And they don't sacrifice flavor in their espresso or coffees for how quick they are!! I highly recommend their iced lattes with oat milk. So Blackbird Kitchen is not its own separate restaurant. You order food at the bar and they bring it to your table. Service was quick and the food was good overall. Parking was a bit confusing. Do not park in the parking lot before 6:30pm! You will need to find street parking, which was not hard. Outdoor seating area. My wife and I stopped in for a couple Açaí bowls today and while we were initially concerned about the price $12 per bowl, we were quickly distracted by the fantastic customer service. The young lady’s working the counter were incredibly friendly helpful. Now for the Açaí bowl. The best I have had by a country mile. This was delicious. French fruit ice, cold sorbet, fresh granola and at the recommendation of the employees, peanut butter. This all came together to make an absolutely can’t amazing meal. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning.“
“A group of 9 of us went to Spire Social recently to brew our own beer as part of a bachelor party. The owner Alex was awesome - he let us start early before the brewery opened and made sure we all had a drink before we got started. He provided a lot of instruction and explanation throughout the process which we all enjoyed. We all got to participate in the brewing and the bachelor was able to smell and select which types of hops we used. The process took about 3 hours so that gave us plenty of time to hang out and drink at the bar (good beer!). I would definitely recommend Spire Social to anyone who’s interested in brewing their own beer or just grabbing a drink!“
