Founder and Owner, De’Juan Kelker was in search of a turkey pepperoni pizza and to his disbelief, local pizza shops did not offer turkey pepperoni. He was stirred to open a restaurant that would serve those with selective palates and diets and offer ALL TURKEY EVERYTHING. The unique concept made way for him to acquire the Downtown property, once frequented by many locals, and continue his personal preference of fine dining.DeJuan's is also making history with becoming Akrons very first black-owned fine-dining restaurant. To say I was excited to try this restaurant was an understatement. Let's get into it.First off the decor, aesthetic and atmosphere are breathtaking. Large glass windows look out onto the city while inside you're surrounded by brick and open industrial ceiling. The space gives vibes of upscale yet accessible without ever being pretentious. The color scheme is black and white which is just elegant enough. The space is also lit very well which I appreciate.The staff is out of this world. DeJuans may just have some of the best service in the country and that's not hyperbole. From greeting us at the front door, to our server Diamond who was world class, the experience was perfect. Our drinks never got less than half empty and Diamond gave excellent recommendations and made sure our experience was one of a kind. There was also a party of maybe 12 people behind us and he gave them the same kind of service. Very impressive.For starters we got the Turkey Chop Bites and the Southern Fried Green Tomatoes.Turkey Chop Bites are pieces of turkey breast that are cut up and then lightly battered and fried. When I tell you my mouth is STILL watering from these things. So insanely juicy and crunchy. They would be good as a Po Boy or in a wrap but they were great by themselves.The Fried Green Tomatoes were also perfectly fried and topped with a shrimp salad that was really tasty. Diamond recommended we try it with hot sauce and that was the right move.For Mains we got the NY Strip and the Turkey Burger.The steak was cooked perfectly and was seasoned so well with salt, pepper and garlic butter. It was so tender and cut like butter. The taste from the grill was also extremely flavorful. There's not much more to say because it was literally perfect.The Turkey Burger was a surprise. Given the size of the patty I expected it to be on the dry side. I was pleasantly surprised it was not dry at all. Beautifully seasoned and complimented by the garlic Aioli and the sweetness of the caramelized onions, this burger was DELICIOUS. I could definitely see myself ordering this again.For dessert I got a slice of cheese cake and figured it would just be a normal slice you get anywhere.Guys... It's not. They take a slice of delicious cheesecake and then they blow-torch the outside so it creates like this crust on the exterior. That process kind of softens the cheesecake and makes it almost melty and creamy. LORD HAVE MERCY. I almost ordered another one. So simple yet so amazing.Folks.. if you haven't noticed by now, I don't know what else to say. DeJuans lives up to the hype. It's worth every penny and more.This is one of those places that I'm truly hoping you make reservations and try as soon as you can. Very understandable if business is slowed, so definitely not a knock as they still did accommodate us and fresh hot plantains as well. “My wife and I drove 55 minutes to this restaurant. We heard about it in a Gluten free group. She had the Gluten free Oyster platter, I had the Oyster PoBoy. They bother were amazing. I know it was a seasonal menu, but I was impressed with the PoBoy. Most places put a powerful sauce that overpowered the taste of the main ingredient. This was poetic, and the artists have me begging for more. Bravo!!Dietary restrictions: Great for gluten free!Parking: Well it's downtown Kent.Kid-friendliness: Well it's a bar, and has pool tables. “Went to Wise Guys this evening with a group of seven. We didn't have a reservation, but from the moment we walked in they couldn't be nicer. Jodie and Jo were the best. “The food is really good at Chowder House. The entrees are over priced. My husband ordered the cioppino and there was very little there and it was very expensive. More than it should cost for the quantity - and more than it would cost in other restaurants for the same quantity/quality. The seafood pappardelle is very good and very rich - a little goes a long way. The service isn't great. Nearly every time a server walked by our table one of them bumped my chair. Maybe they're trying to squeeze too many tables in. With a few tweaks this good be a really good place. If I go back I will get two apps and leave it at that. Maybe we were there on a mediocre night. It's probably worth a try.“

The server was outstanding, the Chef came over to talk with us (we mentioned it was our first visit). There was live music. “Visited on a Saturday evening. First time there and our waitress Stephanie was amazing as she explained how to order the boil and seasoning and spice level. The result was perfect! I am also kinda new to sushi and she also recommended 2 perfect options. The place was clean, ambiance nice, parking convenient and price was in line with what i would expect. This will definitely be a stop when we are downtown Akron in the future. Oh and the drink selection was very good also if that is your thing.“
“We have been here a few times and consistently enjoyed the food. It is not somewhere we take our kids because they aren't into seafood and would get some basic fried food which isn't worth it in our opinion. The gems are the boils. We typically get the head off shrimp + lobster tail boils, my husband adds sausage to his. It costs around $36 each but is two meals for each of us. Hot tip, make some noodles, and turn your leftovers into a pasta dish with the amazing sauce/seasoning!It has not been very busy when we go, but the servers are a little absent. Never seem to get water refills.Parking: Huge free lot in the shopping center.“

“Had dinner there last night with a group of friends. First time being there since it was redesigned in 2022. The views are awesome and it was reasonable quiet for us to carry on our conversations. We ordered multiple items from the menu from appetizers, main courses, and desert. All were absolutely fantastic!! Food was prepared and served very well. Our server was spot on the whole night. She was engaging and very attentive, something we don’t see a lot of any more. I should have remembered her name, but unfortunately it escapes me. This is definitely a place to visit with a menu that will please most. My only concern is that it is, if not already, a place that many will come to enjoy!! It was thirty degrees out and we came early. The place was hopping when we left. None the less, it is now one of our regular night out spots. Reservations are a good idea. When summer or warm weather arrives it will be tough to get a seat inside or out! Go early and Enjoy!!“

“My girlfriends and I went to El Patron Tequileria to get some food before a show across the street. Being ladies, we were later than we would have liked and were in a rush and ALSO didn't have a reservation. The atmosphere in that place is just lovely, but since we didn't have reservations and it was a busy Friday we were seated in the basement (which we didn't even know they had). I gave the atmosphere a 4 because of us being in the basement and having poor lighting. The rest of the restaurant is a 5 star.We loved our waitress Bree! she did a fabulous job at getting us in and out fast for the show. She also went up and beyond when she heard it was my friend's birthday and made her feel extra special with a sparkler and a shot of tequila. This girl was fast, efficient and did a damn good job. “This place is great for either a casual lunch or a nice dinner date. The atmosphere feels nice without feeling pretentious. The place is very wheelchair accessible with on street parking. I had the lamb and the beet and goat cheese salad and they were both fantastic! They also had a great gluten free cake. I told my husband I was leaving a review and he said I only needed one word - yummy!“
“Best Mexican around, a little pricey but worth it. The ground beef is actually seasoned & has a lot of flavor, unlike every other Mexican restaurant. They have great guacamole but it is like $12, so it's VERY expensive. That being said, it tastes great, but it's way cheaper to make the same thing at home.They barely put any cheese on their tacos. I always order extra cheese on them & I still can barely find any cheese on them. Thankfully I always order cheese dip, so I end up having to use that on my tacos. Kind of annoying.Update: I took a star away because their take-out/online ordering service needs some serious work. I ordered two tacos for myself & only received one. I mostly wanted to just eat chips with salsa, guacamole & cheese dip (I even ordered a large cheese & large guac). They only gave us a TINY bag of chips, smaller than any other Mexican restaurant would give. Why couldn't they give us a normal size bag? Needless to say, I ate one taco & a handful of chips & was still left hungry. :(“
