“I was surprised that Ballantine did not have a better star rating. We are passing through. Most well rated Willoughby restaurants were very full. Ballantine is a large place, lots of wood, with some crannies, one being in the back with a mantle and gas lighted fireplace. In live music before it switches to current sports. Special dinner: Clams which were very fresh, clam chowder with fresh vegetables, and a huge hamburger with greens. All good. Staff people were super friendly and helpful. A beautiful lighted outdoors with floor to ceiling glass. Couldn't have been any better. Thank you, Ballantine.”

“Haven’t been to JT’s Diner for about two years. Thought we’d give it a try as we remembered it being good at their previous location. We were very disappointed in our breakfasts. My crisp bacon was burnt to a crisp with burnt taste upon first bite. Our home fries used to be excellent “sliced” potato’s, but yesterday came as mush and the scrambled eggs were not even cut….just folded like an omelet. Coffee was good and hot, as in the past. For $20.53 I expected better. Don’t think I would return.”

“I love this location but at certain times of the day. During the day the customer service is on point!!! But evening / night it’s trash. The younger employees be needing home training before they get a job because their customer service sucks. But anywho during the day, I love this location and the cookies!”

“Today it was chilly and rainy. I got off work early and had been thinking about trying ramen here for days. I sat at the sushi counter with my book and my sweater. I ordered the Kiiro (yellow) ramen. Let me tell you, this was a nice warm hug in a bowl and everything I was hoping for. Calvin was a lovely man making sushi behind the counter. He was very amiable and easy to chat with. I work close by and will definitely be back. I cant wait to try the Kuro (black) ramen. Calvin if you see this I was reading Ravensong, part 2 of the Green Creek series. Enjoy!”

“My boyfriend and I were strolling along downtown Willoughby around 10am, nothing was really open except Michael’s. We stopped in, were greeted by a kind man and saw not much was left except some Cinnamon Rolls. Figured that meant they must’ve been good, tried one of them and it was amazing! “We had the best day watching The Buckeyes at The Wild Goose! One of our sons lives in Willoughby & the other son & his wife live in Shaker Heights. Fav spot for our kids but our first time. The pizzas, onion rings & buffalo dip were amazing! Outstanding selection of beers. Loved the atmosphere. Charming but lots of TVs as well. Can’t say enough about the staff!!! Outstanding service & so friendly! Cant wait to come back!”

“I love Arabica coffeehouse. It’s a really friendly environment in historic downtown Willoughby. The owners Tim and Tina Are both very nice and welcoming and their staff is friendly. I love the huge selection of teas that they have to choose from. This is where I go when I just don’t want to be home by myself. Love to come here read or work a little and people watch. There is always someone friendly to talk to. I’ve made lots of friends here over the years.”

I am going to stay healthy and fit so that I can live longer so I can eat more freshleys. I would eat my gyro if I dropped it on the ground. I would pay $30 for the gyro I just ate if I had to. I would walk to buy one if I could. I don’t even look forward to eating gyros anywhere else because I know they can’t possible compare to these ones. The angry gyro should be renamed the happy gyro, because that’s what it truly makes me feel. I would choose this as my last meal if I was getting sent to the electric chair and I’m dead serious. I want to fly the workers of Freshleys to Greece so they can show them how it is done. “The food is excellent. It was all hot and fresh. We got 4 combination plates and crab ragoon for $40. It was pretty busy probably because the food is so good. The people are courteous and professional. The egg rolls were crispy and hot. The crab ragoon was very tasty. I got Mongolian beef, spicy which was perfect. The shrimp with lobster sauce was pretty good. We substituted pork lo mein for the fried rice. It tasted grilled and delicious. Both were awesome. We also got shrimp with garlic sauce. The shrimp was tender and cooked well. We've been here twice so far. Both times were pretty awesome.”

“Went here for a birthday party—a private affair, if you will. Hulk Hogan had just died. Steve Miller and the J. Geils Band was blasting and the Yuenglings were flowing. The ten TV screens were showing a variety of horse races and the Tour de France (this was in LATE July, so you can’t really blame them). Parking was adequate. This was a pickleball and slide-on shoes crowd, and it was spectacular. Would return for the 60th birthday party if it’s held here.”

“I’ve been to 7 Brew several times and have tried a bunch of different drinks — they’re always delicious! The staff is super friendly and upbeat, especially later at night when I usually stop by. It’s nice to find a place that’s consistent every time, both with great drinks and great service. Definitely one of my go-to spots!”

“Fats has always been a place that feels like home. When I was in my 20s figuring out what being drunk was like. After the war when I needed somewhere that wouldn't judge me for drowning my sorrows. And now when I'm a working man who occasionally gets a craving for an excellent burger, Fats has always made me feel comfortable and welcome.”

“Always delicious and I find myself craving their food every couple of weeks. I always get the Thai Basil with chicken, so freakin good. Yesterday I decided to try the Pho, and it cured my weary soul. Truly, I had been feeling not so great and my tummy just loved it. Make sure you put all the herbs and sauce in there and mix it up. 10/10 will get again when I need some comfort soup.

Honorable mentions for me: basil fried rice, Pad Thai of course and the jumbo chicken wings are so yummy.

This is more of a take-out place.. not really a dine-in experience, though they do have tables and chairs if you're inclined.

“Great breakfast. Be sure to get their App, deals will arrive. Their $5 take homes are always welcome on busy days. If you are there for a late lunch or dinner try their super large hamburger or pork chops. As a plus the wife loves going through the store looking for deals.”

“You ever have one of those days where you wake up, everything starts going wrong. Today was one. Just little things here and there. My family was at work and I was thirsty. So I stopped here. (The one on Robin Hood) got a large raging berry and a large peach beach.

I’ll be honest, I did the “make sure she sees the tip” thing. And I asked. Please make the best smoothies ever. Then I said. I don’t even care about mine. Make hers perfect.

So here’s my review. I’ve been stopping here for years now. Every time, they’re amazing smoothies. Tipping doesn’t make them better or worse. And it may have been a placebo effect…but I don’t think so.

Normally my large smoothies last me all day. Sip here and there and enjoy it. I dunno what magic they/she (wasn’t paying attention to who made it. I’m so sorry) did. But holy…baby jebus rocking in a cradle with RNGesus. This smoothie is already gone. Time frame…bought at 12…gone at 1. That’s a record. I want this flavor in my mouth. Now. And more. When my family took her first sip…she said the hair stood up in her arm and she got tingles.

Today these two girls (women I know…but I’m old now) made my day much better. And it made hers better. And for a few extra bucks they deserve every penny.
