Service is excellent though - very quick and they gave me a hair tie, bib and basket for my jacket and bag.“

“Had another great experience at Sang-Ji Fried Bao. This is a very authentic Shanghai-style snack spot that I’ve visited many times. The food is consistently satisfying, especially if you’re craving classic Shanghai street food flavors.

This time I tried the truffle-flavored pan-fried soup buns, and they were surprisingly good — juicy, crispy on the bottom, and the truffle flavor worked really well without being overpowering.

It’s a great place for a quick and comforting meal. The restaurant is also clean and well maintained, which makes the dining experience even better. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to.“

The chicken sandwiches were also perfectly crisp with juicy meat, and even the lettuce was fresh and crispy. Portion size was big too. It was sooo good, it was gone in 10 min XD. Tender meat with very soft jelly like skin went so well with savoury perfectly cooked rice and pickled veggies. A mix of flavours and textures. The cabbage on the side was very delicious and crunchy. A perfect meal.“

“A small Hong Kong style cafe on Yonge street. There is no parking available that we will have to find paid street parking around the vicinity.
We visited on Tuesday lunch time. The cafe was quiet.
The meun is interesting as they have stonepot rice and other promotional dishes than the usual cafe menu.
The stone pot rice was pretty good as it was cooked upon order. The food quality and materials used were good too, except the ovaltine condensed milk French toast, of which the bread was kind of hard.
Service was friendly.
There are many other traditional Hong Kong style cafe items for you to choose.
Price was a bit higher than other similar establishments in the area.“

Every bite was amazing, and the portions were generous. The staff were also warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.“

Guo bao rou was the best I’ve had in a while. It’s really soft yet crispy and chewy.
The noodle was of great quality but just not my preference. For Koreans, the sauce tastes like 된장+쌈장.

Also ordered yang chow fried rice, but it was made out of a very fresh-out-of-cooker rice with expected ingredients missing - shrimp, pork, etc. Didn’t taste ‘bad’ but definitely home-y taste.

Regardless, I will be back for sure for the guo bao rou!!!“

“Service was excellent. We were greeted and seated immediately after walking through the door. Servers came by frequently to give extra napkins. And the bibs + hairtie are a nice touch.

Food was exceptional. We were craving some delicious hand pulled noodles and these did not disappoint. Noodles had the perfect hand pulled texture. They were springy, and the perfect vessel for the broth and meat. We also ordered some side dishes (numbing chicken, dumplings and cold starters). All very tasty. Will definitely go back if we are in Toronto again.“

The pho was very fresh tasting, with a really nice broth.

“Overall, my experience was just okay.
The environment was pleasant and clean, and the general flavor of the dishes was acceptable. No major complaints on the ambiance or basic taste.
However, the main issue was the freshness of the food. The meat did not seem as fresh as I would have liked, and some of the cold dishes also tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. This significantly detracted from the meal's quality.
If the kitchen can address the freshness of their ingredients, particularly the meat and cold appetizers, this restaurant would definitely earn a higher rating.

“Visited on Sunday, May 30 with my family, and had such a great experience. The owner was incredibly kind and took the time to tell us about the restaurant and what makes it special. The chicken was really good and they had a pretty nice selection!

“You come here for the shrimp wontons & noodle. I like the dry version (soup in separate bowl). Love the chili oil. It actually has some spice to it. Everything is self-serve and now only comes in disposables. Noodles and soups come in either waxed carton bowls or plastic containers. Hoisin sauce for noodles is provided on the top of a plastic container lid. Lol.“

“First time at this restaurant and I am very satisfied. The food was delicious. The house fried rice was the best rice I’ve tasted and it had a fried chicken leg on top that was delicious. It's mainly a takeout place with some tables, but it's not a full service restaurant.

“An interesting juxtaposition of a nice, clean, well run Persian lounge, with someone in the back who clearly knows what they're doing with pasta. The food was great. Pasta was done perfectly, presented nicely with some unique flair, al dente and served hot. We had the vodka (Romanoff) , and truffle(I don't remember the names it was the last on the list) pastas. We were both impressed with the quality and flavour richness. We were there early on a Friday evening, the only other customers were smoking on hookahs (we weren't bothered by it, I don't think I noticed it in the air), and perhaps having a drink. It was easy to park right in front. The restaurant is located in the corner of the outdoor strip mall, a few doors down from Subway, in the World on Yonge complex. A nice find in the neighborhood.“

I did have a bad experience with a front-desk staff in the past, but it seems they’ve brought in someone else, and the service has improved. “To be honest, the food is great and I’ve already been there three times. But on my last visit, one of the staff kept pushing me to order the crispy chicken. I told her I don’t like chicken and just wanted something else, but she became quite rude and remained impolite throughout the entire dinner. I’m not sure why she acted that way, but because of that experience, I won’t be going back.“
