“Customer service was very poor, only half of our order came to the table as we were told they’re out of chicken after getting half of it. So we had to eat just the fried rice and soup without any mains. They offered that the rice will be on the house, but then secretly charged us for it. Overall the staff was very disrespectful and not courteous at all. Food was good though but not worth the service we got.“

“I discovered this restaurant about 3 months ago and since then, im addicted to it! This place has amazing good food. The Bun Bo Hue "spicy", lemongrass soup is my favourite. I eat it at least 2-3 time per month. It is sooooo flavourful!!! Then, I've tried Bun Cha for the first time yesterday and I fell in love with this plate too. So fresh, so flavourful. I can't wait to discover more of their food. And, the service is amazing, employees are super nice. Love this place“

“Checked out thier food for the first time, and it was really good I had never tried Vietnamese food before but the flavors were incredible, Seriously, their pad thai was mind-blowing. The staff was also really friendly and made the whole experience even better. Can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu. Definitely a good spot to try.“

“The pho here was absolutely delicious!I got the large size however it was very big- enough to feed 2-3 people. The well done beef was very very good however the short rib beef was tough & hard to chew.We also got the deep fried shrimp rolls and they were crispy & delicious. Will definitely come back here !“

“Experience was okish, chicken in banh mi was extra chewy and did not have enough seasoning but taste was good and bread seemed very fresh. Spring roll was good and Pho we took was with shrimp wonton. We found rice noodle quantity too much and broth less for a bowl of pho. Service was quick initially bit no one came back to check on us until billing which was strange. Ambience and location is nice, found food and service average“

“We were in an out of this spot within 45 minutes; such quick service! It was nice and quiet within, and our server was the sweetest woman. She was efficient and really made our experience special. The thin egg noodle soup (with tofu) was so tasty; I got a medium and have plenty of leftovers.Great bang for your buck!“

“One of the best Vietnamese restaurant in Ottawa. I have been in many places from Paris , Nice, Cannes, Venice, Rome, Florence, Amsterdam, Geneva, Frankfurt, Berlin, to Washington DC, Austin ...There's only a couple of restaurants in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh ville that are better. Excellent price-quality ratio but no parking, no reservation and no credit card accepted.“

“I'm not going to say I have the most complex palate because normally, when I have pho, I have a bad habit of wanting to pack on the hoisin sauce. I felt no desire to here however, the broth was just that good. Add on top the fantastic customer service and how the server clearly remembers her customers, I'd say this place is top-notch“

“I always pickup spring rolls here. The "special spring rolls" on the menu. These are hands down the best spring rolls in Ottawa. Very authentic and fresh. The staff is also very friendly and the service is fast. I look forward to trying other things here.“

“Really nice little place on Somerset at Bronson ave! I hade the chicken broth with shrimp and pork pho - very tasty, lots of thinly sliced pork, noodles, sprouts and a few shrimp. Anyone who says it’s bland obviously didn’t add the spices that they give you with it.Made for an awesome lunch!“

“They have a vast menu of mostly Vietnamese diseases. I have tried quite a few items, from wonton to pho to stir fry dishes to sizzling, and every single item I tried was delicious. But the best part of this restaurant is their staffs, who are very friendly and welcoming. 5 star for the service!“

“Grabbed a Tofu Banh Mi Lunch special to go which included a shrimp spring roll. The spring roll was so hot and fresh and the best I have ever eaten. The sandwich was huge, great taste- could've used a bit more spice, but I'm sure I could've asked. I will be back!“

“Every corner of this cash only takeout shop has so much charm. The loud Vietnamese music is usually an energetic or nostalgic vibe. I think of the sandwiches as humble and correct in terms of the ingredients and how they come together with each satisfying bite. I normally order the A1 on the menu. I’ve also had the iced coffee in the summer and it was great. I always admire the multicolored ceiling fan too.“

“I've been coming here on and off for over 20 years. Every time I have a sip of the complimentary tea (hot or cold depending on the season), it brings back a lot of good memories. Even though I don't live nearby, I always try to stop by if I'm shopping in the neighborhood. The food has always been excellent and affordable, the service prompt and cheerful. I usually get the fresh rolls (BBQ Pork is my fave), iced coffee with sugar and a large bowl of Pho.I hope to continue dining here for another 20 years!“

“Very good! I went here with my beautiful wife when we were both starving in the cold Ottawa weather and this place blew us away...The food was made very well and was also very filling. We ordered the large Pho and could barely finish it even though we shared the bowl. We also got the spring rolls and overall the food was excellent. The tea was very nice as well, I highly recommend it.The service and atmosphere were terrific also with very accommodating workers who were very polite and pleasant to be around. Finally, the price of the food was extremely reasonable. All in all we had a very large serving of food and with tax and tip it came out to about $25.Highly recommend you check it out!“

“I’m so happy to finally have some bánh mì that tastes like the ones in Vietnam! Best bánh mì in Ottawa, the French bread is perfectly crunchy and soft, the viet mayo is delicious, and the pork so good!Rất ngon!!(Ordered off of Uber)“

“As they say in Vietnamese, the food was "Thom gun!!" (most probably that's misspelled, but it means 'delicious'!!). We found a good parking spot behind the restaurant, so it was convenient, and the service right after we ordered our food was quick, excellent and when we asked for more lime, we were surprised when they brought us a bunch!! Usually, restaurants bring us only one tiny lime quarter (or two, if we are lucky), but here, they are not tight with their service. The food was the happy note of my day.Yum-yummy!!Parking: There is a lot for customers just behind the restaurant“

“Overall great light taste, aromatic broth, not loaded with seasonings. Like the simple menu so you are not loaded with options.Even though the flavour is authentic, it’s lacking a couple of factors:- Pho Hanoi should be loaded with onions but not here.- Authentic BBH also has port trotters and blood but not here. That said, doesn’t impact the flavour and would still come back again.“
“They're back! I ordered the seafood laksa (not on the menu, but they used to make it occasionally, and they still do) and it was a sumptuous feast for the senses! The broth was rich and spicy, a symphony of flavors. Based on this laksa, and having tried most of their dishes before they closed, I bet everything else tastes top-notch and they've kept the same quality level. I'll be back!“

“Always come here for pho, #100. This time we ordered pad grow prow and although it's not the authentic version we're accustomed to, it's still delicious and amazing in flavour. For those who know what pad grow prow taste like, this is not it. It's more like a beef pepper stir fry.So just a heads up for those expecting PGP.“

“Don’t underestimate this spot! The location is in the basement but the moment you can smell the food as you come down the stairs you’ll know why this place has such great reviews. The tofu peanut soup was amazing and definitely hit the spot, was even better with a side of rice! The general Tao vegan chicken was great and we have lots of leftovers. It was such a shock that there was so many vegetarian/vegan options that I took forever choosing, everything sounded so good! We decided to dine in and the cashier was doing a million things but she still took the time to serve us and get us water :) Atmosphere is a little hole in the wall—but not in a bad way—if you can order ahead it can help with wait time as we came when all the delivery orders were coming in. Loved this place and will be back again!!“

“I've been coming here for years. This is the first place I tried Vietnamese cuisine, and it's the place to which I compare any others (few can compare!). The food here is fantastic, and the service is friendly and efficient. The hot and sour soup, and spring rolls in particular here are unrivaled... the rest of the food is great too and very reasonably priced. I've never had a bad meal or experience here. You really need to try it.Parking: Very small lot behind the building. Chinatown is pretty cramped anywhere. Having a lot at all is uncommon.“

“Run to this place!! We stumbled upon Saigon, went in for a drink and we were thoroughly impressed. We were greeted by a personable bar twnder who is a competitive mixologist and specializes in unique infusions that you wont fund anywhere else. We had the cresanthemum tea cocktail which was so light and refreshing. We alsi had the Old Fashion but this no ordinary old fashioned. It has essence of star anise and cinnamon, garnised with mint and orange - It does not disappoint. The bartender happily made me a drink, off the menu, which is the photo attached. It was possibly the best drink I've ever had and the drizzle design is dual purpose for a wonderfully beautiful scent and umami flavor with every sip - fantastic! The design of the bar and green velvet stools are nice. The front of the establishment has a glass opening wall, perfect for nice weather people watching! We did not eat but several people around us were and the food looked incredible accompanied by glowing reviews from those eating. The Fairmont sent patrons there with the message Saigon IS THE PLACE for a great cocktail and it's an accurate recommendation that I'd make to anyone. The cocktails are pricey but you get what you're paying for and you realize this as you watch the detail and different quality, unique ingredients going into each creation. Just go ?“

“My wife and I ate here with a couple of friends. We started with won ton soup, hot and sour soup as well as vegetable spring rolls. They ordered chicken satay, mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice and pineapple chicken. We ordered beef with ginger and onions, five spice prawns and pork fried rice. Everything was freshly made and delicious. They received all their dishes before us though so service was a bit out of sync. We had dinner on a pretty cold night and we had to ask our waiter to turn on the overhead heater as we were seated near the door and every time it opened, we got a blast of cold air. The seating area is small so it would be difficult to avoid this. Food was excellent, service was a bit slow and price was a bit high. Would recommend and would certainly return when it’s warmer.“

“Wow !!I’ve always ordered my Pho from a place downtown - even though I’m in south Ottawa. On a whim, not feeling well and craving hot Pho, I decided to try this place. WOW! I’ve tried Pho all over Ottawa - and this was the absolute best tasting I’ve had. The key is the broth!! It is sooo flavourful. Has the perfect amount of kick to it, all those rich flavours and fragrances. So happy I found this place closer to my house. Definitely will be ordering again soon!!We ordered a beef Pho and a vegetable Pho, along with some veggie fresh rolls.**I wanted to post a pic, cause it all looked amazing and was packaged so well for delivery. But I got a taste for the broth and couldn’t stop long enough to take a pic!“

“Great place for pho and other Vietnamese dishes. Food is phenomenally fresh and a lot of care is put into making sure it tastes authentic. Although not in the Somerset core, this place has to be one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the city. Always friendly staff willing to answer questions and make lovely recommendations. Highly recommend this place, you will be so impressed and not disappointed.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options availableDietary restrictions: Gluten free“

“I used to live very close to this place. Was my favourite restaurant. I no longer live as close and don’t go as much but the food is incredible. I love the vermicelli and pho. They offer tea when you sit down. The owner isn’t very sociable and can seem unfriendly at times but he is hard working and makes good food.“

“Good food but service and atmosphere could be improved. The food is good and portions are not small but there are no choices for bowl sizes unlike most pho restaurants. The pho was good and 136 satay chicken was great. The interior was quite old and service was a bit curt.“

“"Recently had the pleasure of dining at Pho by Night, and it was an unforgettable experience. As a lover of both Pho and vegetarian cuisine, I was thrilled to discover a place that combines the best of both worlds. From the moment I stepped in, the cozy ambiance and warm welcome made me feel right at home. The menu, brimming with vegetarian options, offered a refreshing take on traditional Pho, each dish bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection.“
