“Excellent food, vibes, drinks. Music was a little loud but the food quality overcame it and then some. Especially loved the secreto pork and the confit duck leg. Everything had a great Thai twist and was cooked very well. The mango sticky rice cocktail was delightful“

“Not sure how I've never bothered to leave a review here before but I guess I hadn't gotten around to it. Anyways, here goes. This is the best bar in the beaches, period! There's really only a few bars down on Queen here that are open late and actually lively. Of those 3-4 Breakwall is easily the best.
The food is great, specifically the BBQ. Most importantly it's extremely consistent! Cranking out slow cooked BBQ, at the volume they're often seeing here and having it come out this consistent is no small feat. These guys nail it again and again.
The atmosphere is comfortable, it's a lot of people's "second home." Music is curated by the staff, not generic stations/playlists (heavy Gen X/Millenial nostalgia). The servers are all really personable and great at what they do.
In short, this is easily the best bar in the beaches, one of the best in the whole east-end-downtown and I can't recommend it enough!!“

“Loving this restaurant. Their menu is so creative and a lot of fun. We had Poutine and the Redonkadonk Sandwich last night... pulled pork, smoked brisket & bacon on a bun with fried onions and coleslaw! Wow! It was DELICIOUS 😄 Their homemade gravy has so much flavour and my girls loved the poutine... however, I REALLY wish the poutine came with cheese curds! Shredded cheese just isn’t the same...“

“We had dinner at the Etobicoke location. The staff, Ian and Kirt, were courteous and friendly. The food was delicious and great quality, flavourful and generous portions. All the meats were tender and juicy, not dry. We will definitely be dining there again when we crave great BBQ!“

“Been a long time since I was on RONCY and at BARQUE. It was definitely per-COVID and a nice sunny summer day on their patio.
Glad to see they have survived as a RONCY staple. A winter's cold walk was ok but nice to get inside!!!
As a Saturday BRUNCH I was a bit disappointed with the lack of BBQ items but we managed. The NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH ($26) was crispy and delicious ...and not too hot (for me I am not so good with heat....) as to enjoy its flavours. Served with a generous portion of thin crispy fries with a hotter paprika seasoning ...excellent!!!
The SMOKED DUCK PANCAKES ($26) was a bit of a bizarre flavour combination but I tried it. Light fluffy pancakes (3) and the blueberry compote was thick and flavourful........but the duck just did not do it for me. A side of SMOKEY DILL PICKLE SLAW ($12) was a combination of the vinegary-creamy southern low country states but I really do prefer mine the more northern creamy.
Friendly and expert service and apparently a restaurant which INCLUDED TIPS IN THEIR PRICES.......which I have NEVER experienced....here in Canada anyway.
I was really hoping for a larger BBQ selection for lunch but I guess I should have checked the site before we went in. Also,
I obviously do not get into the 416 often as I thought that the menu selections were a bit pricy, however, I was told by my more "travelled" daughters that that seems to be the norm for Toronto brunches.I think I will stay out here in the more reasonable "burbs".
Parking: RONCY is a PEDESTRIAN-FRIENDLY neighbourhood and VERRRRYYYY difficult to find parking close by on the main and side streets.“

“The food was extremely good. The portions were amazing but the only problem we had was with the servers. Both the servers seemed kind of rude to us ( maybe it was just their tone). The lady server we asked to get our side dishes refilled did not care and we had to ask the other server to get our side dishes filled.Overall everything was nice but the customer service could improve by a big margin.“

“I went yesterday evening with my family for my graduation. The ambiance was beautiful with warm lights and plants everywhere. Our server, Javier, was very attentive and funny! And of course, the food was excellent — even today, our leftovers were flavourful. Ordered 3x brisket mac & cheese, 1/2lb brisket, pulled pork mac & cheese, sliders, tacos, buttermilk onion rings, shoestring fries and potato salad.
All of the food was amazing, but my family raved over the brisket mac & cheese and the buttermilk rings. Tender, melt-in-the-mouth high quality meat. So good.
Will definitely come again.“

“The food at Pig Out is outstanding. The portions are large and very reasonable. It is the second time I have ordered the Pig Out Platter! The meat fell off the bone. Their side dishes are amazing. The staff is lovely and can’t do enough to satisfy their customer. Thank you again for the lovely service. I will recommend this place to anyone! ❤️“

“As someone who grew up on HKBBQ - this place is legit, no nonsense. Best in the options across Chinatown hands down. My parents and their siblings ate here when they immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong. Classic HKBBQ, exactly how it should be, plain and simple. Their Char Siu (bbq pork) and Siu Yuk (roast pork) are essential and good. We’ve bought it in huge platters for parties and it’s well loved. I do like their roast duck and soy chicken as well but I’d say they aren’t as good as the porks. I usually get these on a bowl of rice noodles with soup. Can’t get any better than that. The prices are good. Cash/debit only - as it should be for HKBBQ. In fact, I love this place so much that we took our engagement photos here.“

“I came to Kung fu beef, not really knowing what to expect. I've eaten similar in other places, where you cook at your table. I believe the menu here is somewhat difficult as there is not much explanation on what anything is other than photo and name. For someone who isn't bbq savvy, that could be tough. Our server was kind. I didn't feel like we could ask a lot of questions, so was doing my best to help the others at my table. We wished there was more variety of sides, more vegetables or something. If you're looking for meat heavy, you'll be happy though! Sauces not being labeled was tough too, we didn't really know what any of them were. None of the meat we got was bad, we just weren't really sure what most of it was or how it would taste/cook. We ended up doing buffet, and ordering many things to try. It took a long time to cook things, (some even burned a bit) and I noticed with my group the people or person cooking doesn't really get to enjoy eating themselves. My personal experience was ok I guess, the place was clean. I probably wouldn't pursue the experience often.“

“Went here for a birthday party for my friend Felix and the food is incredible and super authentic! The wait staff are all Chinese-speaking and it was a great opportunity to try some incredible lamb, pork, chicken, and seafood dishes grilled.
This was my first time trying a century old egg, my friend Boyu told me that this is a dish that separates men from boys in China - and I'm glad to find out that I'm now capable of being a Chinese man.
Great experience, our group was very boisterous and obnoxious, and the wait staff were incredibly patient with us.“

“SmoQue N' Bones delivers some of the best BBQ in the city! The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfect, and the smoky flavor in every bite was unreal. The sides? Just as amazing — especially the mac and cheese and cornbread.
The vibe inside is laid-back and cool, and the staff was super friendly and quick. Whether you're a BBQ lover or just hungry for something unforgettable, SmoQue N' Bones is a must-visit.
Can’t wait to come back and try the whole menu.“

“Stopped in after Cask Days at Bar Volo on St. Nicholas and we were just looking for anything fun in the neighbourhood. A week later, I'm still thinking about two menu items: The coriander in bean curd roll skewer and soy sauced beef with cucumber and peanut.
It's so good that I'm thinking about how to reverse engineer the latter one for home.
Go. You won't regret it.“

“This is the neighborhood joint that every neighborhood needs! The owner may just be the friendliest person on the planet. The delicious smell from the smoker makes you salivate when you walk in the door and the food is delicious.
They only serve drip coffee, but that’s not a problem because the friendly owner will suggest popping over to one of the lovely coffee shops next door for your speciality coffee and bring it back to enjoy with your food.
The entire experience (including sitting and listening to all the wonderful interactions with other customers) has made my day.“

“This place is a little gem. The atmosphere is fun but relaxed (if that makes sense). The service is friendly, but not in your face. The food has your typical no-nonsense bar staples. Some items are better than others, but generally, it's good. If you want to stay and play board games, chat, and/or watch a game, this is your place.
Vegetarian options: Their Greek salad was bomb. Big too, enough to share.
Kid-friendliness: Yeah.“

“Usually order this great Portuguese style chicken on Uber Eats. Today stopped for takeaway and took the combo to go - friendly server called Sidhu, and good portions. Chicken is never dry and juicy. If this company keeps up their quality and consistency then they will stay best rotisserie chicken in Toronto.“

“The meat was flavorful and well-prepared, but the overall cleanliness could use improvement. The tables and floors were quite greasy, and the toilets could be much cleaner. While I enjoyed the food, I’d consider visiting a different branch next time.“

“Incredible! Most of all thank you so much for making me feel so safe as a celiac! The server without prompting, always let me know in advance what was in each item and, substitution recommendations and as everything was delivered to the table she reconfirmed each item. Such a fabulous experience and omg so delicious! An adventure and experience! Thank you guys!“

“Tasty food. Small meat serving on the spicy beef tongue. The kimchi soup was fantastic. The 4% makgeoli comes in many flavours and tastes fantastic. Only item I wasn't crazy about was the cheese seasoned fried chicken. Note a lot of items are a bit pricy, but I had a great time.
Service was friendly, enthusiastic, while not intrusive (glad there weren't upsells).
High energy environment, has booth seats for moderate privacy, and the lighting is easy on the eyes.“

“I recently had the Falafel Wrap with fries at Pitaland on Spadina, and it was amazing! The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with great flavor. The fresh veggies and tasty sauces made the wrap perfect.
The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, a great match for the wrap.
The service was friendly and quick, and the portions were big for the price. If you’re in the area, definitely try the falafel wrap at Pitaland. It’s one of the best I’ve had!“

“In New York a morning trip to a bodega is a slightly waning option and here in T.O. that possibility essentially doesn't exist. Of course to my surprise, nestled right on the doorstep of high end purse retailers and clothing retailers with restos grafted on is one such remaining Toronto bodega. BBQ Express is a tiny room that can fit five people on a cold winter day that churns out extremely well priced hearty dishes to those in the know.
We were in for breakfast (mind you considerably past midday) so a set of filling sandwiches were the choice but clearly bowls of Bibimbap, Bulgogi and Souvlaki are favourites. Drop the snooty attitude necessary for the spots two streets north and enjoy a vision of work persons takeout that would have looked the same two decades ago. Really quality choice, just definitely slide the door all the way closed in the winter.“

“Ordered a Philly cheese steak. Customer service was excellent. Its a small joint, mainly for take out. They do have outside seating.
The beef is halal, but not the chicken. Bun was nicely toasted as per my request, but
found it a little chewy. However, meat was well cooked. Price point little on the high end.“

“Super delicious! I order takeout every day, and I never have any bad food. The chilled sauce series is great, and the Northeastern Rampi sauce is amazing. Please make it into shredded chicken cold noodles, it will be delicious! ! The Malatang had too little meat (almost none), but the taste was good. I’m so happy to be able to eat Northeastern sauerkraut!“

“Petit dîner rapido ! La première chose que je remarque est le service à la clientèle ! Vraiment sympathique et efficace, j’ai été servi par une certaine Sylvie et aussi tout le reste de l’équipe était vraiment chaleureux … ce qui créait une belle ambiance dans ce petit resto fast food ! Les employés semblent apprécier y travailler donc ça paraissait ! Ça fait changement de la morosité qu’on voit de plus en plus un peu partout ! Très bon aussi mon repas !“
