“I admire this spot! They give great dishes, their menu is nice, The cook in that spot is a specialist, I love a lot trying all their food. The food is always good, the attitude towards the visitors is friendly. I frequently visit this place and I was never unhappy. I recommend it with no hesitation.“
“A lunch experience to remember! My wife and I went to Sushi Gin to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful experience. It was difficult to find a sushi restaurant that served lunch omakses so I’m lucky to have found Sushi Gin. The décor, service, and food were all sublime and top notch. We ordered the lunch Omakase which comes with 7 dishes. Highlights were:Décor – Japanese minimalism / zen-like interior that was simple, orderly, uncluttered, and sleek. There are no individual tables other than the wrap around table surrounding the sushi bar which makes for an intimate experience. I loved the double-sided chop sticks, the cutlery, and the display of sushi knives just in front of us.Service – I must apologize for not asking for names but the servers were kind, knowledgeable, and eager to help. Upon arrival, we were nicely greeted and taken to our seats. They pulled out / pushed in our chairs and helped us put our coats on the back of the chairs. Tea was always topped up before we needed to ask, dishes were explained, and were always there to answer questions of any nature. I also noticed that our main server walked around and ensured that the utensils and chairs were perfectly aligned when not servicing the customers. Top notch. The same amazing service can be said for our chef who prepared each of the sushi related dishes right in front of us with his amazing skills. He explained each piece of nigiri and answered all our questions with patience and experience.Food – All 7 courses were delicious. The miso soup was light and seemed to have a fish type broth (very nice). The salad was the right temperature (not overtly cold like other restaurants) and excellently paired with potato salad to give it a creamier texture. The fried octopus appetizer was one of my favorites as it had perfect crispness and seasoned to perfection. The Chawanmushi was a first for me and I loved it. Besides the excellent taste, I also loved the small spoon that came with it. As for the sushi, the chef expertly created 10 pieces of Nigiri one-by-one with some of the following fish: Kinmedai, kampachi, salmon, akami, otoro, and uni. The nigiri was paired with their house made picked ginger which was refreshing. Loved how the chef brushed the house made soy sauce onto the sushi rice prior to serving them on our plates to ensure optimal soy sauce to rice ratio. The hand roll was next and was filled with diced otoro - Yum! The dessert was Tamago and I enjoyed it quite a bit considering it wasn’t overtly sweet, like many are. Finally, as a special surprise, they served us a delicious chocolate cake plus a cheesecake mousse. Thank you for the kind birthday gesture.Upon leaving the restaurant, they helped with our chairs and coats again, while opening the doors for us on the way out. Impeccable service and food Sushi Gin. Thank you for a memorable omakase and we will be back!Dietary restrictions: Feel free to tell them about any dietary restrictions as they are very accommodating.“
“We recently dined at Fujisan Japanese restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food was exceptional, with a variety of delicious sushi options, including some torched sushi that was real tempting. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. What really stood out to me was the quick and efficient service, which added to the overall pleasant vibe of the restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, almost like being in an authentic Japanese home.If you're looking for a restaurant with great food, friendly staff, great value and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend Fujisan Japanese restaurant. I will definitely be returning!“
“One of the best restaurants in Uxbridge! The food is SO fresh and the quality is spectacular. The owner and staff are lovely, it is a MUST for anyone in Uxbridge (and beyond). Definitely check them out!Vegetarian options: Lots of great vegetarian options!“
“My daughter Sally invited me to try Sushi Umi, and it did not disappoint! You’re truly engaging in a unique dining experience where the degree of service, cleanliness, artistry and culinary expertise are unmatched. I’ve never experienced Omakase, but I’m so thankful to have come to Sushi Umi for my first time. I strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone who admires the Japanese cuisine, and is looking to taste the freshness of fish and robust and elegant flavours. A definite revisit for sure.Parking: Free parking lot is located behind the building.“
“Came here twice and I became a fan of their food.First time I got a Nama Salmon Don and it was delicious! Salmon was fresh with thick cut! The portion was just right.Second time I got their Wasabi Yaki Chicken Don as I want to try something hot. Tender juicy chicken and I will recorder next time.Customer service was great, friendly staff!I would recommend order ahead and pick up later to avoid any wait time.“
“Great Omakase experience that does not require 24hr pre-book. You can just walk in and order Omakase course just like in Japan.Beside the main sushi course. Small side dishes are pretty impressive, for my own experience, this is important part to make the difference between Omakase restaurants.“
“Honestly, one of my favorite Japanese sushi restaurant-MIKI ^^, the quality of food are amazing every time I visiting, everyone is working as professional and very intensive,My portion of sashimi. rolls are always the freshest! ? worth the money,“
“Par excellence! The freshest, tastiest, most well presented Japanese seafood based dinner, bar- none! To start, the tempura was crispy outside, not oily, and the seafood tastey and the vegetables firm nor soggy. Wagu beef morsel literally melted on my tongue. The taste of the stuffed squid ring surprised me with a delicate taste that I had never experienced before. If it were light, it would be like seeing a new color never seen before. After this, my pallette was reset with a creamy tofu dish that had a hint of Wasabi. If the sashimi was any fresher, the fish would be swimming its way to the table. Such perfect flavourful and texture. What I thought was desert after so many succulent plates turned out to a cold, diced medley of flavored sashimi in champagne glass, topped with caviar and gold flakes. This exclusive Japanese restaurant is a must go to, at least once. It is expensive. For the private room, five-star personal servers, and of course the extraordinary food, it is well worth the experience.“
“This place definitely becomes our go to sushi take out when we are in this area. They serve delicious sushi. The raw fish they use are clean and fresh. Good service and friendly staff/ owner. Highly recommend to everyone. Street parking only, but very easy to find a spot.“
“I have always liked their sushi in the north. My favorite is J San Sushi. But in recent years, the packaging has become more and more low-key. Today, the takeout bag is just a white plastic bag... I was given two chopsticks and tissues, but I was only given one for a large box of sushi. The wasabi that was small enough to stick on chopsticks and the soy sauce that was only one-fifth of the box was not enough for one person... It is difficult for me to give a five-star review. The packaging is far from worthy of the price and is a bit petty.“
“Food quality - On the better side. Fresh and decent cuts, the shrimp was pretty good. Extra points on the tuna it is fresh and doesn’t carry any sourness to it. Overall noticeably better than the average sushi take out but not yet at the omakase level.Price - Pricier than average. My friend ordered the platter so I didn’t know how much it would come to until he sent a interac request to split the bill, a little pricier than what I envisioned it to be.Conclusion - Not sure if I would ever order it because they required a day in advance to order and not open on most days. If friends are up for it and we have a larger party I wouldn’t mind chipping in.“
“Great food for great price at a very cute family run cafe. The service was very warm and friendly, and the theme and decor was very fun! The Shiganshina District Aburi platter was a standout favourite for my wife and I.Highly recommended! We will definitely be back again!“
“This place is a gem. It’s so rare to find good food these days because of inflation. We went twice and everything we tried was amazing. They use very good quality ingredients and their dishes are well balanced. I really liked the Hana roll and the Beef Udon soup. They must have a really good chef in the kitchen! Make sure to go to the Markham location though.“
“2024 March 3.5★A small restaurant with about 8 to 10 tables that seat 4 each.Chef Nigiri(8pcs) $29.99A selection of chef selected fish. Good presentation and flavors. Would recommend.Oyster Bomb $22.99Fried oyster sushi. Good for the kids.Black Cod $17.99Miso cod fish. The fish was thin. While pretty decent, not worth the price.Beef Sukiyaki $21.99Pretty decent, but not really authentic.Saba 7 Spices $13.49Grilled fish with seasoning. Ok.Veggie Tempura $9.99A good selection and variety of veggies. Gets soggy quick. Batter could be better.Food isn't bad, though it's not considered cheap. You'll find this place busy and a reservation is recommended.Free parking available in the plaza.“
“Extremely humble owner. Both the ladies at front today were exceptionally nice. We had trouble finding a place at the court as most places accept only cash and we didn’t have any. She courteously showed us the machine and said don’t worry. Sushi was good, fresh. Miso soup was also good. Will go back for sure. Happy to help small businesses like this.“
“I think this is very good experience!Must order tenon special roll and caterpillar roll for every time coming here!especially tenon special roll, it is really perfect sauce with mint,This combination is really delicious and creative food!“
“Sushi here was amazing, no bout. My go to japanese Restaurant. I had started eating here since I was young, and grew up eating sushi at this restaurant. This place knocks out all other competitors with ease. Their service is fast, their washrooms are clean, and most importantly, their food is absolultly mind blowing. Please give it a try.“
“Food was good and when I called to confirm pick up, they were friendly and even called me back when I was running a bit late for pick up. We really enjoyed the pressed sushi and the party platters - good variety and delicious.Parking: The parking was a bit difficult, had to park behind the shops and restaurants.“
“At the moment you come to that restaurant the waiters give you an excellent feeling. Very congenial team, it is a friendly place to pass time with buddies or with your date. delightful meals, professional chief cook and stuff, decent pay and nice service. Highly recommended.“
“I quite like this sushi takeaway shop. I'm not saying its quality is out of the world, but the sushi and sashimi are pretty good compared to those Japanese/Korean restaurants (I've had really disappointing experience). Salmon Lover: salmon sashimi, salmon nigiri and spicy salmon roll. Salmon was so fatty and fresh, and super thick!!Green Dragon Roll: Dynamic roll with avo on top. I'd say the shrimp tempura was thinly battered. It's creamy and slightly crunchy. I quite like it!Overall I'm not disappointed at all. I'm impressed that it's of good quality. I definitely want to try their sushi party tray.“
“This place has the most affordable sushi with a wide range of vegan options. I recently got the vegetable party tray with my friends and it sooo worth it!! Cindy, the owner was also very accommodating for any substitutions. We also got mango slushies (not pictured) but it was also delicious. 10/10 def recommend.“
“I love sushi and I grew up eating it. I've experienced from a wide range of quality and I have to say, Chi SAN Sushi is up there. We chose 7 kinds of fishes and one sweet shrimp and requested they slice it for us. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. Compared to the prices in Montreal, this is a great deal! We even got to taste some expensive fishes like Toro tuna and even fish liver. But my favorite has to be that beautiful and incredibly delicious bento box (105$). It has uni, mackerel, salmon roe, tuna and more along with well seasoned rice. Truly a box of jewel.I only have praise for this place and highly recommend it! Freshness and quality guaranteed.“
“This gem of a restaurant is hidden in a tiny strip mall, however, the interiors are so gorgeous! For starters, we had the miso soup, vegetable gyoza, shrimp tempura along with Okinomiyaki and chicken Karagae and it was so delicious ? Since we were a party of 6, we felt it was good to order the Party Tray of RC3 62 pieces and truly loved the various sushi assortments ❤️❤️ Would highly recommend this venue as it is a perfect restaurant to bring family and friends ?“
“BBQ eel (unagi) rolls tasted pretty good and the prices were quite nice. Pieces were a bit small though and the wasabi was noticeably thin in consistency which wasn’t very pleasant. The staff were great, food arrived on time and everything was otherwise worth it!“
“It is surprising that we can place an order for same day pickup on Christmas Day, a bonus point add for that. For the food, the sushi and sashimi were fresh, quite a variety of rolls, all in all it was a great deal. For the service, the young man who served us was friendly and nice, patiently checked the order details with us and alerted us when the food was ready. But the lady at the cashier was kinda rude that she didn't answer any customers who asked for help, didn't even make eye contact with us when we were standing right in front of the cashier, what she cares about is only her phone.“
“I walked by this cafe for a lot of time. Finally I can try this cafe in 2023. The Aburi Sushi Quartet provides me a glimpse of their sushi types. All of them are grilled to the proper degree. I also ordered the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea. The Oolong tea favour is very nice. Next time I will try the other bentos!“
“Super friendly people here. It was quick stop in for lunch. Their lunch special prices are very well priced & portions are great!Green Dragon Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll were delicious. The spicy mayo is packed with flavour! The Bento box is good, standard. Salmon was kinda bland but the teriyaki sauce saved it. Sweet and not overpowering.Overall, would come back!“
