“I quite like this sushi takeaway shop. I'm not saying its quality is out of the world, but the sushi and sashimi are pretty good compared to those Japanese/Korean restaurants (I've had really disappointing experience). Salmon Lover: salmon sashimi, salmon nigiri and spicy salmon roll. Salmon was so fatty and fresh, and super thick!!Green Dragon Roll: Dynamic roll with avo on top. I'd say the shrimp tempura was thinly battered. It's creamy and slightly crunchy. I quite like it!Overall I'm not disappointed at all. I'm impressed that it's of good quality. I definitely want to try their sushi party tray.“
“I often go here for sushi and rolls because it's good. Today, I had Korean Kimbap for the first time.I loved the colours and it was so delicious! I was full after eating 10 pieces of Kimbap. All kind of kimbap are on 15% sale. Can't wait to try other kimbap menus next time!“
“Hibiki sashimi is our favorite post-Unionville trail walk treat to ourselves. They honestly serve the best sashimi cuts in GTA. We always end up disappointed when we get sashimi from a different place since we've been spoiled by Hibiki's quality. Toro toro maki and black cod misozuke are other dishes that we've order in the past and really enjoyed!“
“Super quick service, newly renovated and ayce sushi. Came with a reservation and was seated promptly. The interior of this place is newly renovated from what it was before and it's quite nice! You order from ipads and the food comes out at lightning speed. There's also a cold apps/ salad bar that is self serve, along with some soup and dessert. Ayce dinner during the weekday is $39.99 per adult. The menu is huge with lots of options to pick from, ranging from raw to cooked. Some of the items I liked were: - Ichiban roll - Assortment of sashimi - Takoyaki - Steamed egg - Garlic beef cubes - Roasted wings - Kalbi - Grilled mackerel You can expect the food here to be your typical ayce quality. It still hits the spot though, so give it a try. Great for large parties. Service was 5/5 as our server was super enthusiastic and chatty with our table. Would visit again!“
“The atmosphere was calm and chill . But the main part was the food . it was amazing we tried the salmon avado sushi pizza I recommend you to try it .with dessert its going the best food ever and also the service was amazingthe food Is from heaven ?? ?“
“Kind and friendly customer service. Unlimited hot tea served. The food is delicious and the prices are budget friendly for dinner and lunch!Kid-friendliness: The staff are super kind to kids. There are small bowls to share food with kids and finger food.“
“This place has a special place in my heart. I am always impressed by how fresh their sushi is and how friendly the service is. I can confidently say that this is my favourite sushi restaurant in the GTA. I recommend this place to my friends / family and all of them have yet to be disappointed!“
“"Fujisan Japanese Restaurant deserves every bit of its 5-star rating! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm welcome. The sushi and sashimi are fresh and delicious, beautifully presented like works of art. The menu offers a wide variety of options, catering to every palate. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or new to Japanese cuisine, Fujisan is the place to be. Can't wait to visit again!"“
“The sushi rice is seasoned with red vinegar, and the medium fatty tuna, fatty tuna, scallops, sea urchin, and minced tuna hand rolls are all incredibly stunning! The chef emphasizes the use of Japanese-imported rice and fish for both sushi and sashimi, ensuring everything is exceptionally fresh! Moreover, their homemade pickled ginger is absolutely delightful. It’s not overly pungent like typical ones, and the sweetness is perfectly balanced! Highly recommend sushi gin?“
“First ever omakase experience and it did not disappoint. Favourite part was most definitely the sushi round which served individual pieces at a time to patrons. Each sushi was unique to its own with specific ingredients procured from different regions of the world. Time passed by too quickly as I could’ve eaten more. Given the process of serving food, dining etiquette was at first confusing for a first time noob like myself but I quickly adapted to the experienced patrons near me. The staff here is also exceptionally kind as my wife mentioned it was my birthday and the chef presented me an extra piece of sushi with a candle. Turns out you can also let them know ahead of time and they’ll generously prepare a piece of birthday cake. All in all it was a great experience and a definite recommendation for sushi lovers and foodies alike.“
“Value for money is decent, with sushi flavors being around average. Overall, the taste is pretty fresh, but the sea urchin was slightly off. Crazy Girl sushi dish taste great, but the flame seemed more decorative than practical. Sadly, the lobster tempura lacked any actual lobster meat.“
“This is the best! The premium menu was perfect; food was delicious and fresh, and the place is nice and spacious. The best of all was the staff though. They are super nice and helpful, and they are always around to help. Definitely will come back with my friends!!!“
“Went to Sushi Umi again for dinner last night. Phenomenal experience as the 1st time. Everything was very fresh and high quality. Appetizer, sashimi, sushi, temaki and dessert were all flavourful with a nice balance. Also ordered the a la carte of the waggu uni and foie gras sushi. The foie gras sushi was literally melted in my mouth. Very satisfied Omakase at Umi. Very attentive staff and professional chef. Keep up the good work Sushi Umi!!!“
“A friend of mine told me to stop at J San for some sushi. I have to admit the sushi combo 211 I ordered was really fresh. And I liked the seafood selection they have for sale, good stuff. Overall, all the tables and the washroom were clean. But there was a couple flies I believe from that Zz plant that were flying over my head and food constantly.Parking: Parking is across the street and 3 hours free for restaurant customers. Don't park on the street.“
“This is a wonderful little sushi restaurant in Scarborough. My friend and I prefer to come here on our own, and a couple of times when Niji was too busy. The food is great! Both the sushi and the Korean dishes are tasty and have good portion sizes. The customer service is excellent. Our server was so attentive, constantly pouring us tea and checking in with us to make sure we were satisfied. We came back not just because of the food, but also because we remembered the wonderful service ☺️ Thank you!“
“Amazing sushi rolls and equally great service!! The owner took the time to walk us through the menu, suggesting a few of her personal favourites and making sure that we were happy with our selection. This is now our go-to place for sushi in Scarborough!“
“I didn’t expect to find a place with superb quality fish in Scarborough but happy that I was proved wrong! All the dishes that we had were so good and the prices during lunch are reasonable. When my partner and I stepped in at around lunch it was empty, not even 10 mins later it was packed. Everyone who works here has done a great job with creating a welcoming environment.Parking: Parking lot gets busy and is tight“
“Most memorable birthday meal ever!!! Totally left me speechless. Great ambiance and friendly staff. Chef’s attention to detail was off the charts! Very inventive and pleasantly surprised with every course. Highly recommend the jerk chicken karaage, sashimi and sushi. Sushi was the freshest I’ve had, especially noted ikura and hotate. For dessert we had the matcha tiramisu and house made ice-cream was so perfect. Tried the miso caramel flavour. Simply amazing. I am coming back soon to bring the family and spreading the word about this hidden gem ♥️“
“I recently dined at Akane Sushi Ichiban, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was filled with a happy, homey vibe that made us feel right at ease. The restaurant was alive with the sound of patrons enjoying their meals, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Now, let's talk about the food. The red dragon roll and black dragon roll were both exquisite, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The shrimp tempura was perfectly crispy, and the salmon, white tuna, and hamachi sashimi were incredibly fresh and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Each dish was a testament to the skill and dedication of the chefs at Akane Sushi Ichiban. To accompany our meal, we enjoyed a refreshing house sake that perfectly complemented the flavors of the sushi. But what truly stood out were the people working at the restaurant. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had an exceptional dining experience. The chef even surprised us with extra servings and complimentary soup, which was a delightful touch that made us feel like valued guests.Overall, I can't recommend Akane Sushi Ichiban highly enough. If you're looking for delicious sushi in a cozy atmosphere with outstanding service, this is the place to be!“
“Great value, lovely atmosphere & service, and most importantly, incredible food. The sushi was fresh and super flavourful, the takoyaki was one of the best I’ve ever had, the homemade gyoza & miso soup were dynamite. Will definitely be coming back!“
“Amazing food , amazing waitress , amazing atmosphere We have been here for the first time and definitely recommend this place.Everything was so tasty and the lady that attended us was super friendly ❤️❤️❤️Love it, love it, love it !!“
“We ordered the oshi platter, tuna tataki sushi and jackpot. The food was delicious. Sushi tasted fresh! The tuna was melting in our mouths! Our server was nice and friendly. We had a great experience there. We'll definitely be back soon.Parking: You can park in the Canadian Tire parking lot.“
“Torch Pressed Sushi is changing how I think about sushi! Their pressed style isn't just visually stunning, but the light char from the torch gives each piece this delightful smoky depth. Unique sauces and textures take it to another level. If you love sushi and want a new and exciting way to enjoy it, this is the place for you.“
“Honestly the best sushi places I’ve ever gone. I’m not much of a sushi lover, I go to the occasional Japanese restaurant and get maybe a couple of pieces but they never really fit my palette. Like places like Ichiban, or Sushi Moto, etc were never really interesting. But after discovering this absolute whole in the wall I can’t stop eating. As I’m writing this in the past 24 hours I’ve basically eaten half a platter of their sushi completely on my own. The staff are all amazing people always having an amazing time and really make you feel included and appreciated as a customer. I now go on an almost daily to weekly basis and always order the spicy or the creamy crab rolls exclusively but their huge platters are amazing for parties and gatherings. If you want amazing sushi and the fun and humour from a hibachi restaurant go to VIP sushi they’re cheaper and the experience is way betterDietary restrictions: They’re very accommodating always doing what they can to make sure I eat what I can and exclude everything I can’tKid-friendliness: The staff are always friendly and treat children with the utmost care always saying hi and waving and making them feel comfortable in the busy environment. Earlier today a customer had come in with their shh daughter and by the time the sushi was ready the little girl was sad to leave as all the staff had made such a fun environmentWheelchair accessibility: Door may not fit a wheelchair but they will walk out and hand you your order or do what they can to accommodate you the best they can“
“My friend and I visited here for dinner. We ordered, miso soup, spring rolls, edamame, avocado roll, shrimp tempura roll & bambibap rice bowl.Quality - the food was good, especially the edamame, soup and 2 rolls.Price - decently priced compared to other sushi places in Richmond HillQuantity - the quantity was very good for the price pointService - amazing & fast service, they were super sweet & even got us free green tea ice-cream and roasted creamy potatoes. Helped us through our order too. The food is served very aesthetically.Good place to visit overall.“
“Came here twice and I became a fan of their food.First time I got a Nama Salmon Don and it was delicious! Salmon was fresh with thick cut! The portion was just right.Second time I got their Wasabi Yaki Chicken Don as I want to try something hot. Tender juicy chicken and I will recorder next time.Customer service was great, friendly staff!I would recommend order ahead and pick up later to avoid any wait time.“
“I don’t live near Shinobu, it sometimes take me an hour to get there to pick up. This is the best place for authentic Japanese Sushi in Toronto. Always consistent fair prices and made with love and pride. Its worth the drive.?❤️?yes its 2023?Shinobu is still just as good as ever?☀️and I’m sure 2024 will be as great as ever☀️❤️???Happy New Year ?“
“Every dish was fresh, and the sushi in particular was exceptionally flavorful. The staff were extremely friendly and showed great consideration for their customers. The atmosphere and quality of service were truly impressive. I highly recommend Kibo Sushi and would give it five stars without hesitation!“
“Par excellence! The freshest, tastiest, most well presented Japanese seafood based dinner, bar- none! To start, the tempura was crispy outside, not oily, and the seafood tastey and the vegetables firm nor soggy. Wagu beef morsel literally melted on my tongue. The taste of the stuffed squid ring surprised me with a delicate taste that I had never experienced before. If it were light, it would be like seeing a new color never seen before. After this, my pallette was reset with a creamy tofu dish that had a hint of Wasabi. If the sashimi was any fresher, the fish would be swimming its way to the table. Such perfect flavourful and texture. What I thought was desert after so many succulent plates turned out to a cold, diced medley of flavored sashimi in champagne glass, topped with caviar and gold flakes. This exclusive Japanese restaurant is a must go to, at least once. It is expensive. For the private room, five-star personal servers, and of course the extraordinary food, it is well worth the experience.“
“Underrated excellent authentic Japanese ramen. My family enjoyed the accuracy of the flavours in their cuisine. We loved their spicy pork ramen, takoyaki, karaage, and many other dishes. The owner and staff are extremely polite and lovely. This is a hidden gem in Scarborough, so if you want the tastiest ramen, give it a try; you'll be hooked.“
“My first omakase experience. Chef Kazuki was very friendly and inviting. All his staff were pleasant and did not miss a beat in service. The 18 course Yuki menu was well prepared with a diverse selection. My favourite was the cherry trout and the optional order of uni. Highly recommend this unique experience.“
“Ordered for take out . 10% off for pick up! Sushi was out standing ! Very fresh and tasted amazing ! We like mango in our sushi . One of the few places that has it on their menu . The tempura was excellent too! We were extremely pleased ! We have ordered from places in Aurora King City and Oakridges . The sushi was very fresh ! Thank You !“
“Great Omakase experience that does not require 24hr pre-book. You can just walk in and order Omakase course just like in Japan.Beside the main sushi course. Small side dishes are pretty impressive, for my own experience, this is important part to make the difference between Omakase restaurants.“
“The service here is friendly and home-like. This place is cozy and is perfect for occasions like dates, family gatherings, celebrations etc. Their lunch menu 15-20$ / person but dinner will be ~25-35 per person. It is a little pricy compared to lower end sushi restaurants but the quality here suits the price. They always provide appetizers such as miso soup, congee and a salad to start off with. Something about this place is that it never changed and I have been going here for my birthday/ special occasions with my family since I was 4, so it has a very nostalgic and family-like atmosphere. Love! ?“
“Decent place to satiate my craving for sushi rolls and ramen. Ramen prices are around $13.99 to $15.99, and I take advantage of the sushi rolls daily special for $9.99.Portion size is good and they add lots of toppings, and the broth is tasty.“
“Honestly, one of my favorite Japanese sushi restaurant-MIKI ^^, the quality of food are amazing every time I visiting, everyone is working as professional and very intensive,My portion of sashimi. rolls are always the freshest! ? worth the money,“
“The meal was great and priced very well too. Adam gave very good suggestions for our meal . My wife enjoyed the deep fried California roll. They had good sized shrimp tempura. Overall -wonderful experience. If definitely go back when I’m in Scarborough.Vegetarian options: Fair amount of vegetarian options. Deep fried tofu was very good.“
“Came here many times to get sliced sashimi but this was the first time we decided to dine in. We got the three ways of salmon don.In the bowl there was plain sashimi, a torched salmon and a diced marinated salmon. It also had a few green veggies, a piece of shrimp and a soft boiled egg.The salmon was very high quality. The torched salmon was extremely soft and had a melt in your mouth quality. I do not usually enjoy soft boiled eggs but this one was quite good and added a refreshing feel to the meal. I would highly recommend this dish!“
“Absolutely delicious sushi! From the fresh and flavorful fish to the perfectly seasoned rice, every bite at Akane Sushi is a delight. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and the prices are reasonable. Our server, Mona, is extremely attentive and makes you feel so welcome. A must-visit for sushi lovers!“
“Taste: 9/10Size: 12/10Presentation: 9/10The size of the rolls were HUGE. We ordered 3 dragon rolls and it took up the whole platter plate. The rolls were kind of hard to pick up and were breaking due to size. The pick up door is on the side of a grocery store, and it felt really sketchy because you’re next to the garbage bin and loading dock. But aside from that, worth it.“
“We went to Sushi Real Fruit on a chily, sunny Saturday and it has since then been our go to Sushi place. The owners are very knowledgeable about Sushi and they're very helpful in getting you to choose the Sushi you're in the mood for. All the Sushi are created fresh and they're all bursting with flavour.Dietary restrictions: Halal. Soy Sauce doesn't have alcohol as per owner.“
“Feeling pretty stupid as I've lived in the area for a few years now but only tried this place today. Whenever I walk by it always seems pretty quiet, but with an experience like this I hope it gets more business! We ordered two of the sushi/sashimi dinner combos (B and C) and both were delicious. Generous portions of fish and it all tasted fresh. I think they even gave a few extra pieces of sashimi. The salad and soup were also both nice.Service was great. Everyone here is really friendly and nice.Atmosphere definitely catered to my tastes, which was classic rock music and they turned the hockey game on the TV ?. Will be back for sure! Also shares a name with one of the best anime characters ever ?“
“Great food and atmosphere!I ordered the Hwe Dup Bap, which was really good and had lots of fish. It came with rice and hot sauce on the side, so I was able to choose my own spice level. The menu stated that the dish came with miso soup and salad, but I was only given the soup. I asked the server, and she said that it didn't come with a salad, so there seems to be an error with the menu.Still, the food was great, and I would definitely recommend coming here if you're craving sushi!“
“This place is such a hidden gem! Always friendly and accommodating service, and the value for the quality of sushi you get is incredible! This has not become our go-to sushi spot for take out and it honestly trumps so many sit-down sushi restaurants. Can't get a better deal anywhere else for the delicious sushi you get here! Also the sauce they make for their spicy rolls is ACTUALLY spicy!“
“We went on a sunday lunch and it wasnt busy. We were greeted nicely and seated right away.It was a little dark inside with beautiful modern decor, but it is ambiance of this restaurant. The place looked very clean and the washrooms as well. The service was nothing but fantastic. Our server was happy, nice and attentive. They never failed to fill all of our water. She checked on us multiple times and answered all of our questions. Food also came fast.Food had great portions, came piping hot, fresh and plated beautifully. We recieved a complimentary noodle soup on top of our miso and salad. My chicken katsu was bursting with flavors that i could not stop eating it.For the quality and quantity that you get, their food is reasonably priced.Overall this place is great and would come back to try their sushi“
“Combination Party Tray - (Medium)Assorted Sushi - 20pcsSashimi - 32pcsRoll - 22pcsI was scared to get this but, we were hungry and it didn't disappoint .. there was 3 of us and best part was the raw octopus ?We inquire about if we can substitute the raw eel with something else.We got was the Tilapia and it didn't disappoint (see the white fish sushi)“
“Went for lunch around 1pm, there was no one in the restaurant except us. However, the waitress greeted us nicely and even told us we can sit at a bigger table. We ordered the bento boxes and they were AMAZING! For that price, the food was fresh and delicious! I definitely recommend anyone who wants Japanese cuisine in that area to give it a try!“
“The sushi was beautifully presented and what you would expect form a sushi spot. If you're craving sushi and you're nearby I would stop by! Bento boxes are also great. The place is a bit small so if you have a big group you should probably do take out. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that I felt like the service could have been a bit more attentive and the chairs are quite uncomfortable.“
“Fresh Sushi at a great price. I'm surprised that this is not a busy place. They only have a limited choice of sushi sets and they are made fresh. They have a new item of hamburger with shrimp and cuttle fish pattie. The price is $5.99 and they have great taste and they even toasted the buns.“
“I have always liked their sushi in the north. My favorite is J San Sushi. But in recent years, the packaging has become more and more low-key. Today, the takeout bag is just a white plastic bag... I was given two chopsticks and tissues, but I was only given one for a large box of sushi. The wasabi that was small enough to stick on chopsticks and the soy sauce that was only one-fifth of the box was not enough for one person... It is difficult for me to give a five-star review. The packaging is far from worthy of the price and is a bit petty.“
