“Jay's has an awesome patio, half of it is covered with heaters. Solid food and drinks, has pool tables. Best place in my opinion on 82nd to stop in. They have some crazy bloody Mary's I want to try next time I am in for brunch.“
“The first time I came here with my ex, and it was great. I've been here since, and still great. So who doesn't love consistency? There's something soothing about a bar with great food, good atmosphere and a sense of purpose that I couldn't find in my previous relationship...“
“Terrific experience! My boyfriend has been here twice and couldn't wait to bring me. We live in the neighborhood and couldn't believe we hadn't found this place sooner. We were impressed by the presentation of our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. We also enjoyed the best crab ragoons we've ever had (ordered 2 more to-go). Everything about the restaurant was clearly well thought-out. From the dining area to the bar to the bathroom, it is well-designed and extremely clean. To top it off, the owner of restaurant was super friendly and took time to chat with us. We are already making plans to bring our friends next week. Love this place!“
“I’m elated that this bar is under new ownership, I spent NYE here and it was a blast! I went back for my birthday. Entertainment is excellent-drag and burlesque shows, bands and comedy too. I’ve had a wonderful time every time! OH and the bar tenders are really incredibly nice and accommodating. Can’t recommend enough!!“
“Great neighborhood dive - with great atmosphere and staff. My wife and I don't get to come here too often with young kids, but when we do we have a great time! Decent tap selection, haven't eaten here in years but it was solid from “
“We had a party on the 2nd floor. Onion Rings are awesome, and so was the Osso Buco. The meat just fell off the bone! Everything was great until we got the bill.We supplied a cake, and had to ask for plates and a cake knife & we served ourselves. The waitstaff didn't do anything except bring utensils. The bill had a $25 "Cake Fee" even though they did nothing to help. It would have been different if the fee was mentioned when booking the room, or by the waitress. But, there was no mention. Just that $25 line item on the bill. That ended the party on a bad note.“
“This is place is a lot of fun. It's one of the better bars In the Parkrose area that doesn't feel old, run down, unsafe and dirty. They have a fun karaoke night and the place feels safe and inclusive of LGBTQIA+ and all. It's fun for a friend-night out. I recommend this as one of the better bars to hang out in the Parkrose area for sure.“
“A Portland institution with no cover for the early show. Lots of people, eating, vegan or vegetarian food, but with organic burgers available as well. Lots of people who are dressed as though they could immediately go on a hike or would feel comfortable with the Oregon country fair. People dancing by the stage. Lots of local talent and people who know each other. An intimate local bar that won't cost you an arm and a leg.“
“This is one of our go to neighborhood friendly bars for food and drinks. Nothing fancy, no frills bar but really good food and drinks at really good prices. The Park City Phillies on the fresh baked bread are delicious along with the Burgers, Tater Tots, and the Park City Salad with Grilled Chicken for our watching what we eat option. Had the meatloaf special and it too was delicious.“
“It's kind of a idk, run down joint but the people that go there are really kewl and the bartenders are very friendly. I won 200 off of a twenty in one of their machines and now they are my favorite spot! I didn't eat there so idk about the food. Go there for the atmosphere!“
“Stopped in for a red beer and satiate a great burger craving. ? Hamburger was delicious and big. Service was great. The bartender was talkative, comical, and friendly. The price was awesome. I got a burger, tots, beer, and conversation all under $20. If you're looking for a friendly neighborhood bar, Putters fits the bill.“
“It was our first time here. If you're a sports fanatic there are games on every television. They offer poker, darts,, and sports related games like bowling and golf. We ordered a few appetizers and they were hot upon arrival at our table and definitely enough for sharing with friends.“
“Mighty Moe's Tanker is such a beautiful little spot! It's a little small, but even when I have seen it packed out, it wasn't uncomfortable at all! People are respectful, bartenders are darling, and the owner Moe is such a gem! It is all family vibe! I started regularly going when I was going through a super hard time and they were my safe space and comforting support! ?“
“Just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and found this gem across the street. Didn't expect to feel so welcome at a bar where the walls have elk heads mounted along with old shotguns above the urinal. Never judge a book by it's cover. Try the chowder on Fridays and the collards on any day!“
“First time at Low Road Bar. Hubby had the Mega Mary and I had the crispy chicken wrap. The wrap was delicious but the fries were to die for! Nummy! Hubby loved the bloody Mary, good and spicy but not all peppery. He also said the burger on it was super tasty. Will definitely be back.“
“We like to go here for the seafood night on Thursday. The crab dip is great and there is plenty to share. The food portions are big and I always take home food. Fried oysters and lobster tail are our go to right now. It's a small bar with lots of video poker and some dining tables. Staff has always been attentive and willing to take drink requests.“
“A co-worker told me to try this place out. We went for breakfast. Good food, variety, and plenty of options. Staff was super nice. Bit busy so it took time to get refills of coffee at the table. No problem to stop up at the bar they usually had a fresh pot or were getting one made.“
“The food is well above what you would expect for a bar. We go there often for a drink, but rarely get a meal because we are pescatarian (love the appetizers though!). Today, we were thrilled because we asked the chef gal if she would make us a fish sandwich and she went out of her way to make us happy, even coming out several times to clarify what we wanted. It was an amazing sandwich and we hope they’ll add it to the menu! Also, our friend asked for fry sauce and the chef went back and whipped some up for her. Her and the bartender were much more accommodating than you’d expect for a bar (or even for many restaurants). I can’t recommend this place enough, and I whole heartedly think the staff amplify the experience.“
“At this point I'll call myself a regular, my husband and I love this place and it's the only place in the neighborhood that dose the chicken fried steak, and their garlic toast, yummm! The bartenders are so sweet and attentive, easy to conversate with and usually it's pretty laid back here, sure it can get loud at times, but what bar can't, right?;I love this place so much I'd work here... Lol ❤️“
“We stopped in after a hike in the Gorge and sat at the bar. The chili was incredible. Delicious and like a savory pork sandwich without the bread! The wings were also very good. Our bartender was spunky, on top of it and fun to talk to - wish I got her name. The ambience is what you'd expect, big open space, pool tables, lots of table seating, etc.“
“Favorite bar in Portland. The food is always great, friendly people, and it's nice and cozy inside. The smash burger is pretty decadent in my opinion; really good if you want something that will fill you up and then some. Recently had the Parmesan garlic fries - they were really good but you are going to want to drink to help wash these down.“
“Another review mentioned this bar supported domestic violence, so I had to visit. Jimmy's is AWESOME!!! Everyone was just beating their spouses, it was such a pleasant time. Seriously why would she call a dive bar and not the cops? We visited had drinks and it was clean and everyone was friendly!! Thanks Jimmy!“
“Great local dive. Good place to grab a brew and a burger. There's a large outdoor area in the back with benches. In cold weather the tables have their own heating fires in the middle. In summer they cool the patio with misters.Vegetarian options: Vegan/ vegetarian burger and cauliflower wings“
“The food in this place is better than it has any right to be. The cook is clearly taking pride in what they're doing. I have had the pastrami burger twice and another times it's been fantastic. This spot is a cool, chill neighborhood spot with a great menu and friendly down to earth service.“
“Lived in the area for a few years now and having a kid is getting us out more to explore the immediate neighborhood a little more. It's always on the walking path, but I've honestly slept on the Rose City Grill because of bad experiences from other golf course food back home, which was essentially hospital food that you'd only order if you were starving and desperate to eat. I need to unlearn what I have learned, and this spot is top tier.Mike and Chelsea are a friendly team that put out some great food. Came on Saturday on a whim and got their Jimmy Max, which was a solid breakfast sandwich: eggs, bacon, cheese, English muffin. Hit the spot at a good price. Today we're out getting a Reuben and it's exactly what I could hope for. No frills, not experimentomg, justa solid, traditional, corned beef Reuben with sauerkraut and swiss. There's plenty of places in Portland to find that experimental-fusion-chaos menu, but it's honestly nice to keep the standards alive and well.Golfers have been eating well here and the vibe is chill; plenty of tables to sit down at, baby even took a full nap being so comfortable! The grill is open to the public, so come stop by and grab something to eat, even if you're not a golfer.“
“Walked here with local friends. Place was pretty busy with families - we ended up in the back room, which was a bit quieter, but someone was smoking, which was unpleasant. Took 20 minutes for someone to take our order. But once the food arrived, it was delicious! Fries were AMAZING - crisp and hot, Creamy on the inside. Can understand why it's a popular spot. Would come back!Kid-friendliness: LOTS of kids were here on a busy Wednesday night!“
“Great place to watch sports. The food here is subpar for Vietnamese cuisine—but their customer service is great. They offer a decent selection for tap beers, and cocktails. Video poker isn’t usually packed either so you could always find a machine to play on—or play pool/darts if you’re not into gamble.Been coming here for over 10+ years, and I have to admit that this is my go-to bar when I’m in SouthEast PDX. Will definitely continue to support this establishment for many years to come.“
“For a tavern type place this is 5 star. Small and quirky. Funky bar top, a pool table and a pretty diverse set of slots, this is a good midday stop. Cheeseburger, chicken fried steak, onion rings and tots were all good. Will swing by again when we are in the area.“
“Always a great place for a Saturday night. The place gets really busy and the staff does a really good job trying to keep up with everything that's going on.If you like karaoke, they have a pretty fun room dedicated just to that. They have all the typical bar games. Pool tables dart board. They even have some pinball and lottery machines. They've recently expanded, and it certainly makes the place feel even bigger.Highly recommend the tater tots. ?“
“I've been here twice now and the food has been consistently good. First time I got the Cali burrito which was tasty, but I do wish the fries were just a little crispier. They seemed just a little undercooked. Second time I got the super nachos with chicken and they were good. A ton of food for a good price. Service is also consistently great and I love all their salsas. Definitely want to come back and try the ramen and queso taco next time.“
“Me, my son, my sister from Arizona and her partner went here to have some drinks so we could spend some time together. It was a great little bar. My son and I live in Vancouver but my sister was staying at my brother's in Mulino so I found this little place, the bartender was very sweet, she was extremely busy and doing her best to keep up with everyone cause it was the day before the 4th of July. My sister wants me to go back and get 2 tank tops and a t-shirt to send to them because they liked the bar so much. It was a place that we will definitely revisit.“
“McQueen’s is your local pub with great food, drinks and service. So much fun in a local place. You instantly feel at home. The onion rings are next to none. I had the quarter pounder hamburger with Swiss cheese and grilled mushrooms. So good! The bartender Lisa made us feel like we were part of the neighborhood regulars.“
“One of the best dive bars in Gresham/Troutdale. Not exactly a dive bar, but definitely blue collar. Staff is great. They are attentive without being up your butt about it, and It won’t take long for them to remember you when you start coming in.Food is definitely above average, You can tell the cooks care about what they put out. The drinks are strong without being so heavy it’s not good. You feel like you are getting your moneys worth. They don’t really allow shenanigans, so it keeps it a chill place to get drinks and food, or watch sports. They do have lotto machines, for those that care:)“
“Decent place, lots of regulars. Lots of taps. Older crowd. The reserve signs that people put on the video poker machines don't have a time limit. Regulars put them on and walk away for 20 minutes. Saw some frustrated players who were waiting just get up and leave.“
“Consumate dive bar, but in a good way. Great place to play pool for the first time, and the live band karaoke was a blast to hear in the other room! I like that the pool tables are away from the main floor so that there's plenty of space.“
“I’ve visited just a handful of times, but each time the drinks have been excellent, the food yummy, and the service really friendly. Last night was my birthday, and the staff at the Lair were kind enough to accommodate 13 women with a big table and great service (without much advance notice). The Lair is not fancy, and you don’t want it to be. It’s the perfect low-key local hangout where you’re always treated like a regular (even if you’re not). P.S. Evan makes an excellent Bloody Caesar“
“The sandwiches and burgers here are so phenomenal I've been thinking about them for days after. There are a variety of beer styles -- not just IPAs -- and the beers on tap are excellent. If you're looking for a large tap list or frequent new things to try this isn't the place to go.“
“Visited this welcoming spot while staying in it's residence, the Radisson PDX.Though we just needed dessert and a nightcap, we perused the interesting menu to discover nice appetizers, salads, and mains. We had the Carrot cake, a good-sized wedge with nice flavors and textures, with both cream cheese icing and fresh whipped cream and a tracing of caramel sauce. Uummmmm.Tea for the hubs and a generous portion of Grand Marnier for me. Our wait staff was gracious, kind, efficient and friendly. Such a lovely respite after a long drive through rain and traffic. Certainly recommended, especially during daytime when you would have a view of the lake.“
“Great Atmosphere in a fun area of town. The nachos are to die for. The best I’ve ever had. My boyfriend loves to watch the live games there, And we both enjoy Thursday night bingo. The owners and the staff are wonderful and very accommodating. Would recommend this bar to anybody!“
“Easily one of the best neighborhood bars in Portland. One of the best bar burgers as well (not a smash burger). Just a really nice spot to hang out and have a drink.Very popular, so seating (especially for groups of 3+) can be tough during peak hours. But a“
“Player club enjoy going there. Local bar that has a lot older adults but everyone seems very friendly. The food is pretty good. At times it does get a little loud but I guess people are just having fun. I go into the bar by myself and I feel safe. The daytime bartender is a hoot. If you ever get a chance to stop by. I think you'll enjoy it“
“Hops and Drops impressed us with its swift service and delicious, well-balanced dishes. The kitchen's efficiency ensures a quick turnaround from order to table. The diverse menu caters to various tastes, and our picky-eater family appreciated the spot-on accuracy of our customizations. Hops and Drops has become our go-to for a satisfying family dining experience. Highly recommended!“
