“Unforgettable Dining Experience – Worth Every Moment!
From the moment we stepped into Votum, we knew we were in for something special. This wasn’t just a meal—it was a meticulously crafted, three-hour culinary journey that exceeded every expectation.
Each course was a masterpiece, perfectly paced and beautifully presented. The flavors were bold yet refined, showcasing the chef’s creativity and skill. The attention to detail in both the food and service was unparalleled, making every bite an experience in itself.
To top it all off, we received a signed menu from the chef—a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable. If you’re looking for an extraordinary dining experience that goes beyond just great food, Votum is a must-visit. Nathan and Sarah have created something very special.
We went for Valentine’s Day and had a set menu. Expect to invest time and money here. I’d recommend dressing up to elevate your own experience and pay respect to the restaurant and the culinary artistry.”
“Excellent food, amazing beer, fantastic service. The beer is so good, I almost always forget about the food. Might have been because I just came off the trail, but my food absolutely crushed. If you're visiting Hood River, make time to head down to the river park and check out those businesses.”
“Great food, great beer, great service. Highly recommend.”

“Best food in Hood River! And right up there with the top restaurants in Portland, as well. Tasty seafood options, steaks, pasta. Good variety, focusing on quality over quantity. Beautiful presentation. Desserts are top notch and in appropriate proportions. Having been here many times over the years, we drove an hour from Portland just for dinner on a beautiful day. The views from the deck are wonderful!”

“We were on our way home to LaGrande. Not sure if it was worth a ten mile trip off of 84 for a dinner stop. It is fabulous and now I wish I lived so much closer. Will definitely make the trip again!”
“We brought family in from Texas who were visiting for the first time in 10+ years. They remembered The Pines and old vine zin from a decade ago and wanted to make sure they returned. Geoffrey made it a great experience for them.. loved everything they tasted. Some old vine Zin will make its way on Alaska airlines back to Texas!!”

“Great place for wood fired pizza, with eclectic combinations and fresh ingredients! I loved our pizza which chanterelles added on top. (I forgot to take a picture before I dove in) the Cesear salad was fresh and perfect before a carb heavy meal. Cheesy bread was yum and save room for dessert because the s’mores was insane! Only complaint is our pizza needed to be cooked a bit longer, the center was pretty soggy.”

“Went here a couple days ago with family, and shared a plate of the jalapeño cheese bread. You get the same access to food options as the Mesquitery, which is nice if you don't want to sit on the restaurant side of the business.
The staff are really nice and friendly and we had a great time chatting with our bartender. Would highly recommend for a fun night out drinking with friends.
They also have a pool table set up in back for those who wish to play.
Parking: As it's the heights, it can be hard to find parking on the main roads depending on the day, but there is some good side street parking near by.”
“What a rad little shop! Nice collection of taps and bottles/cans. Amanda and Ika were a treat to hang out with. Will definitely be back.”
“Had a wonderful time here today. If you are in the area, stop by.”
“Great place to stop on the Fruit Loop for a wine tasting and good views of the valley! Loved the wide selection of reds and whites, and they had a really great food menu so may be the place to stop for lunch! (Artichoke dip was out of this world). Not very impressed by the staff, didn’t seem approachable and felt like they blew us off when trying to ask questions.”

“Will definitely go back! The staff was so friendly, informative and just really fun to talk to. The food was also amazing, but beware the menu has so many options that it was so hard to choose! Definitely feels like a hole in the wall, mom n pop type of restaurant and they really focus on fresh, hearty Italian meals. Don’t skip dessert!!
Only complaint is the lasagna had a lot of large onions that were still a bit crunchy.”

“We had a late opportunity to go out to eat after a rather long family meeting.
We called divots at 8:30 pm and although they closed at 9:00 pm said they would serve us if we could arrive for seating before close.
We were seated on the patio for our 10 family members' late meals. That atmosphere was great, as the evening was a perfect summer evening.
We basically all chose every dinner combination and were cooked and served perfectly to us in a timely manner.
We didn't feel in a rush by the restaurant to enjoy the meal, the company, and the great evening.
Thank you for your hospitality!
Kid-friendliness: The children enjoyed exploring the lake edge and the fountain as their Aunt enjoyed watching them play!
From the patio, we enjoyed seeing ourselves as youth back in the day playing as they were!
Wheelchair accessibility: Right from the parking lot to the pation is a wheel chair accessible concrete and covered walkway.”
“As a professional wedding planner, I had the great joy of working a wedding here in July and I was BLOWN AWAY by this venue, not only for it's views and architecture but also by it's company culture, customer service and love for clients. I have added this venue to our VIP Venue list for 2024+2025 which grants their clients a $200 discount on all wedding planning packages simply because we can't wait to work at this venue again!”

“Pine Street Bakery ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ On 9/15/22, I stopped in Hood River, Oregon to check out Pine Street Bakery. Owner Megan Davis’s mother started Grand Central Bakery in Seattle, Washington in 1972. Today, there are 11 locations between Portland and Seattle. If you ever have an opportunity to visit a Grand Central Bakery/Café, I recommend it. I wanted to try one of their famous Cardamom Knots, which are Challah dough slathered in Vanilla Butter, covered in Cardamom Sugar and tied in a Knot. Unfortunately, they were out. I got a Carrot Cake cupcake ($5), which is one of their best sellers, as well as a Maddie Cake cupcake ($5). The Maddie Cake cupcake is a seasonal cupcake that changes with some regularity. The current Maddie Cake cupcake is Peaches & Cream. It is Vanilla cake filled with Peach compote made from local peaches, topped with a Vanilla Swiss Meringue Butter cream frosting. I enjoyed both cupcakes but my favorite of the two was the Maddie Cupcake because it was so unique. There was a generous amount of peach compote in the center of the cupcake, as well as on top. The compote had great flavor. Both cupcakes were fairly dense but moist. In addition to the baked goods and breads, Pine Street Bakery has Breakfast, Lunch, and Coffee menus, as well as specials. They also sell a lot of other products and fresh flowers. Highly Recommended!!!”

“That roaster smell hits you immediately. Owner operator is friendly and knows àll coffee. Interesting to peek in the back at the goings on and ask questions about the big bags of beans. I happened in on Sunday which is when they clean the machine. That means on Sunday you can't choose to grind the beans in house. The dog actually runs the place and would appreciate a treat just for you walking In the door. Respectfully.”

“Great pizza. I had the lunch special 2 pizza slices, a drink and a cookie. The cookie was a bit stale, and the service was average.
I asked the server what was on the pizzas and sat listening to a very, very slow drawn out list. Labels would be great!
I finally took a chance and just pointed at two.”

“The perfect coffee shop! The barista is super friendly and helpful! The hand-crafted drinks taste like they are made with care, not just churned out of an assembly line. “Egg River Cafe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ On 5/18/22, I had breakfast at Egg River Cafe in Hood River, Oregon. They serve breakfast and lunch. It is my favorite Hood River spot for breakfast. I think it’s much better than Bette’s Place, which is another local favorite. In addition to having great Eggs Benedict ($13.95), I appreciated that they gave me cream for my coffee ($3.50) at no extra charge. And the service is always excellent. My server, Laura, was very warm and friendly. So was the nice young woman who accommodated my request for a booth with a window. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant, the food, and the people who work there. Highly Recommended!!!”

“Excellent Christian, Kid-Friendly Vacation Dining Experience
I did not know what to expect at first but when the valet taking our keys quoted Shakespeare I knew I was home! His bow was appropriately and respectably deep—his posture perfect as he turned and opened the door for my family to enter, offering me his arm to take my genuine 1917 Macy’s coyote fur coat and matching hat to the coat check.
The first thing I noticed once inside, besides an elegant Mozart sonata playing in the background (the Berlin harmonic, if I am not mistaken), was that all of the k9 companions were wearing little bow ties!!! So charming.
A sign etched in silver above the extravagantly adorned bar conveniently anounced the Wi-Fi password, and I was overjoyed to realize it referenced one of the most prescient of all the psalms—a considerate and heart warming detail.
In a wonderful nod to Americana, the amuse-bouche hors d’oeuvre was a mash up of “corn dogs” and “corn hole”, a delicious game of skill requiring physical agility and prowess.
The menu itself was an ode to rustic nostalgia—mozzarella sticks (free-range, and shipped overnight from an island off the coast of Italy then presented with an heirloom tomato reduction) were served in hand-blown Murano glass ramekins, and a deconstructed cheeseburger later arrived in a quartet of tasting plates. Each bite was a triumph of flavor and innovation, though the omission of a palate cleanser between courses was a slight disappointment.
My only minor complaint is that the silverware was not properly appointed, with soup and salad spoon-and-forks curiously reversed in placement, a faux pas that would not go unnoticed at even the most middling Parisian brasserie. While I appreciated the effort to present a soup spoon of sterling origin, its placement to the right of the dinner knife was a perplexing oversight of culinary etiquette.
The children especially enjoyed their dessert, which came in the form of an interactive s’mores-based reenactment of the Battle of Thermopoly, complete with a table-side blowtorch and imported Belgian chocolate “rocks!” (Though charming, the flambé nearly singed my husband’s cashmere ascot. A minor detail, but one to address for future evenings of refined revelry.)
All in all, a stellar establishment that, despite a few lapses in traditional finery, deserves accolades for its ambition and successful attempt to embody the feel of a “local dive bar.” Wonderful theme! Bravo!

“I do like the desserts but I ordered a chicken strip basket tonight and it came with honey mustard and no gravy. We called DQ Hood River to inquire why there was no gravy included with our two 6 piece chicken strip baskets. The female who answered didn’t identify herself but said gravy is optional effective recently. If gravy was optional why was honey mustard dipping sauce stuck in my meal and BBQ in other one? If this change to chicken strip baskets just started, why weren’t we notified of this change when we ordered the two chicken strip baskets in drive thru. Our meal came to $35.60 which seems very expensive to just stick in 1 dipping sauce for 6 pieces of chicken and no ketchup for fries. Also, the toast in out meals was dry; no butter. I am just getting over being sick, and chose DQ since it sounded good. I am very disappointed and didn’t eat it.”

“Usually no complaints about this location. However last 3 times I’ve ordered via app, I’ve waited more than 10 min for simple items. Yesterday I finally said something because I saw the drive thru moving along. I personally waited 14 min for an iced tea. Rest of my order was getting cold. And I was not the only one. Just 5 other customers inside. Employee said they were short staffed even though I saw 2 who were stocking and leisurely chatting w each other. Employee said there “was nothing” they could do. There is. If you’re SO understaffed, turn off app ordering. I’ll see the long drive up line and make an informed decision that you’re backed up. But allowing app order, you force me to wait when I don’t have 14 min to spare. No one in the drive up waited as long as those of us inside. Do better.”
