“I got the sausage biscuit and it was amazing. My fiancé got the chicken biscuit and he really enjoyed his. We also got the blueberry French toast and it was perfect, a lot of places can’t get French toast right but they did. Service was also amazing, she always made sure we were good on everything.“
“Best blueberry muffin I’ve ever had! Delicious breakfast sandwich with free drip coffee, and a very friendly Nana. Vegetarians: when I said I didn’t want meat on my sandwich, she offered tomato instead which I thought was a nice touch! So lucky to have this spot in the neighborhood.“
“We like to be safe and warm during the cold rainy days. Coffee is god's bitter apology for everything else. We all want to see a familiar face at the end of a long journey. A knight without a kingdom fights for the one who can understand him. A soldier in peacetime fights the battle in his mind. we are hard shelled on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. When you drop your ice cream on the ground, mother says you can have another one, yet you still cry, fearing the day when there will not be another ice cream, another weekend, a familiar face, a just ruler. The Big City with a Small Town charm. Soft clouds, soft lighting. You can sleep in. All is forgiven. Breakfast goes till 2PMGet the double stack, it will not be too much.“
“A wonderful restaurant that has been around in the Portland area for years, and I believe it may have been the original one of the now very large multi-country chain. Always busy, and usually there is a few minutes of wait time, before you can be seated. I called for a special occasion for my elderly mother's birthday, they arranged the window seat that I requested, and even gave her a special fruit and whipped cream parfait, with a candle. Food was very good as usual, with the exception of the one thing I was craving the most, which was the corned beef hash. The taste was great, but it was as dry as I've ever had in my life, it was like eating fried sawdust. I had to take a sip of water with every bite. Unfortunately, since they had already done me favors, I didn't feel like I could complain and send it back. Otherwise, I definitely would have. Most often, the food is excellent, and that is why I am posting this review. Definitely worth trying out if you have never been there before. Enjoy!Wheelchair accessibility: There are stairs at both entrances, and they are rather steep. Definitely not a wheelchair friendly environment, unfortunately.“
“One of our favorite spots when we visit the Portland area! Expect a wait but just remember it’s for a reason. Sandwiches come out hot and fresh! Their menu is thoughtful of all dietary needs and there really is something for everyone. It’s incredible how creative they can get with simple ingredients. Just wish I could have these back in Washington!“
“I always make it a point to grab brunch here at least once each time I visit Portland. The food is incredible and the staff is always welcoming. My favorite is the Risotto Cakes with Roasted Potatoes and Squash. I also ask for a side of their hollandaise because it is phenomenal and of course love the included croissant (toast if you prefer) with raspberry jam. This last visit I indulged in a London Fog and I think it was the best I've ever had.“
“This is a priceless little secret in Sellwood! The food is so delicious. Fresh and fun. The staff are friendly and welcoming and very accommodating. It's very cute inside, but prepare to wait during prime times. Was there today for the first time. I'll be back“
“LOVE that they have vegan egg options. Delicious sauce for dipping the hash browns in and generally just such a fun vibe. Cured my hangover with one greasy bite. Next time I visit Portland I'm absolutely coming back here for breakfast.“
“We had the Boston waffle with PB&J, bananas, and whipped cream. It was delicious and the perfect size as a dessert for two people. Fluffy and light, and just filling enough. The covered portion of the patio was cozy on a rainy winter's day, while still giving a fun food cart vibe. Highly recommend.“
“We went to three different places on Easter morning looking for space. The first two staff were rude and had long wait times. The staff at Elmer’s were friendly and seated us immediately. The food was served promptly and orders were correct. The manager checked every table to ensure customers satisfaction. What a pleasant experience!Parking: Large parking areaKid-friendliness: Plenty of room for larger groups and families.Wheelchair accessibility: Wide flat service - double entry doors“
“Chose this place because of its high google rates. waited around 45 minutes for breakfast. sat outside. There was nothing extraordinary with the food. So probably will not wait that long next time.Service was good too.I would recommend them to change the water pitchers outside as water looks dirty. The water glasses were plastic and so do the plates. They should also consider giving larger plates too.“
“This place was GREAT! Atmosphere is cool. Visually it's a bit of a Montague, the booths and tables are all old school vintage diner type, and the decor is a bunch of various lumberjack momentous, which is fitting for Portland. The music playing was new age, and the food a bit hipster with flare. I was a little speculative about the menu, not certain I would like it but my buddy insisted we go, he had been many times. I'm always thrown by a wide array of vegan food. Usually tastes good but I like meat. But there was plenty of meat on the menu as well. I had the St. Helen's, my buddy had a burrito, mine was absolutely phenomenal, and he said his burrito was amazing too. Service was very good and attentive, a little slow with the coffee refills, but I can be hard to keep up with so she was great.I will ? come back here and introduce othersParking: Parking lot is tiny. I parked off street.Kid-friendliness: Definitely a place I would bring the kids.“
“Little Griddle is a grand spot for a brunch. My friend Brynn brought me there after we stopped into House of Vintage and we had a great time.I got the biscuits and Gravy sandwich and absolutely loved it. The side salad was tasty and a great appetizer. We also shared the special which was a Cinnamon Toast Crunch pancake. For five bucks it was a great deal and tasty too!The staff were super kind and refilled my water quickly and often.Overall this is a great spot for brunch and I will be back!“
“Always great no matter where I go, service is always impeccable, food is almost always great if not they'll make it right,I love the photos on the wall and the cozy fireplace which makes the atmosphere more enjoyable.Vegetarian options: No matter where you go you can come up with something vegetarian on most menus , yellow bowl salad with avocado and lemon is great choice just ask for more salad they might charge you more but maybe not.“
“This is my go to for brunch spot, I love bringing ppl from out of town here. The food is super good, I think I’ve tried all their Benedict options and have never been disappointed. The drinks are super delicious, the option to get a bottle of champagne for a table is great for the price. The space is cute and simple and even when it’s a full house it feels spacious. The service has also been amazing every time I’ve come in, even in big groups they’ve always been very accommodating.“
“I'm always happy with my menu item choices here. Friendly, helpful staff. Lots of seating options, solo counter, booths, tables, and covered outdoor tables. Upbeat decor.I only gave 4 stars for service because they were out of several items - it's a Monday morning, and maybe they had a busy weekend.Parking: Metered street parking is available“
“I'd never even heard of Dockside before a couple months ago, and had we stopped in on the day I'd intended, we would have coincidentally visited on its last day of operation under the helm of the original owners. Shame. Even so, the handoff to the new owners appears to have been a smooth transition, because this place rocks!Fantastic food, (mostly) attentive service, and a charming, rustic aesthetic. We stopped in for brunch, ordering between us the taco omelet, Florentine eggs benedict with ham, a Loaded Mary (Bloody Mary with all the fixins), and a MANmosa, because screw your fluted glass, pour us a big one!I expected to be a bit underwhelmed by my omelet, as I generally don't order breakfast food much. I'd tried to order off the lunch menu, which wasn't available at the time, and had to pivot at the last minute, but fortunately, I landed on a winner! It's hard to go wrong with spiced beef, cheese, egg, salsa and sour cream!Across the table, my wife was in ecstasy over her eggs benedict, claiming it was one of the best she'd had anywhere! From the sampling I took, she's probably right - even the Hollandaise, which can be tricky to execute correctly, found itself firmly in the Goldilocks zone - not too egg-y, not too lemon-y.We may have missed the Dockside during the reign of its founding generation, but its legacy, and continued operation, are in good hands.“
“Pretty good drinks! I really liked the wide range of espresso and tea lattes they had, all of them sounded delicious. We got a normal latte and a rose tea latte and both tasted good, only complaint is both were super hot but it's not the big of a deal if you let it sit for a bit with the cup cover off. Would recommend a stop here!“
“This place is awesome! Food was perfect (and easily made dairy-free). The people working are awesome and friendly! Even gave me some recommendations as a visitor here in Portland. Highly recommend!Dietary restrictions: Lots of dairy free and / or vegan options!“
“The rocket sando has become the breakfast sandwich I crave above all other sandwiches. The smashed tater tot patty, cheese, egg, spicy ketchup. The staff is super nice, wait times ain’t bad, and there’s a coffee cart close by while I wait. I love this place, it’s become a favorite to go with daughter (who gets the breakfast wrap every single time).“
“Pine state was an awesome brunch! The manager Candi was hustling all over the place and still managed to make everyone feel welcome and seen. She had a great energy which carried over into the meal. She really went above and beyond to offer excellent “
“I was pleasantly surprised by the house drip coffee. It was very tasty with just sugar and half n half which I haven’t usually found to be the case with most non-espresso coffee beverages. I got the biscuits and gravy and was also pleasantly surprised cause I am a biscuits and gravy snob but these were very flavorful and the right about of spicy and savory. I also got a hash brown and it was perfect! Plus whatever oil they cooked it in was very mild which enabled pure fried potato flavor“
“It’s all about the experience. So you want to make breakfast, but out of the house, and without the mess?! Well Slappy Cakes is your spot! Think teppanyaki, but for your morning meal. The actual food is pricey and average, but the spot, especially for bigger~ heavy kid groups is perfection. Make your own pancakes with endless add ons, right before your eyes. Parking is all street, so get there early to avoid the long waits and long walk.“
“Wife and I tried this place recently for the first time and was pleasantly impressed with the quality and service of the restaurant. We went on a weekend and were able to get a table without a reservation. Granted we arrived 2 hours before closing so that might have helped. Either way, we had a nice meal. We will definitely make another trip here again!“
“Great place and food. The lone waitress was amazing. However expect a long wait for service and food. I walked out one morning after five minutes of standing at the door and not being acknowledged because the lone waitress had a full restaurant.“
“We had an excellent breakfast! We both got the bunkhouse vittles plate. Super yummy!Edit: Returned a couple years later and got the same exact thing ? This time with vegan sausage which was just as good if not better! This time got a hazelnut mocha latte, see picture. Extremely good!Vegetarian options: Things on the menu were marked with a red leaf when vegetarian substitutes were available“
“The food was yummy, and the atmosphere was busy. I definitely recommend the pork belly eggs Bennie and my guy recommend their blueberry pancakes.. overall, I enjoyed our bunch with lattes. The potatoes that came with was great. We went on a Saturday between 10:30am and 11am, it was steadily busy, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated and roughly 45mins for our food.“
“Update: I received a prompt genuine and sincere response from the owner and I am confident the issue we experienced will no longer be a concern for anyone. My birthday is next week and we plan to continue our tradition Today is my daughter’s 18th birthday. We have gone to the waffle window the past few years as a tradition and always had great service with delicious food. Today couldn’t be more opposite. My daughter showed ID and the lady said she needed to go on their website join their club and all this extra stuff then they would send an email with a code to validate so she could get her birthday waffle…. but they never sent an email it just put her on their contact list… apparently the workers have zero ability to do what is right anymore. After waiting in line and going through all these insane hoops we sure as heck weren’t going to just hop in the car and drive 30 mins back home.. so we had to pay for it.. needless to say I am pretty disappointed and for sure will NOT be visiting again.“
“This is my go to American breakfast restaurant. There are some Mexican breakfast foods on the menu. The fake maple syrup is not my flavor. I dislike it. I would pay an extra buck for real maple syrup. The staff is friendly. The restaurant is very clean and appealing.Weekday mornings are the best times to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The weekend crowd is overwhelming at times.I am a fan of the Meat Lovers Omelet.Vegetarian options: Veggie omelette and salads.Dietary restrictions: Options are available.Parking: Nice size paved parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes. Plenty of wheelchair accessible tables. No stairs.“
“We've been going to Howell's for a long time. Gotta say it wasn't great today. The staff was not very friendly and completely ignored us the first 10 mins we were there. It'll be a minute before we make the drive over again.“
“Biscuits have always been pretty good. The West Linn Biscuits Meat Lovers Omelet was loaded vs the OC Biscuits. But the OC is also very good. Just noticed it was better at this location. Always depends on the cook on duty. The biscuits were soft and dreamy, bacon crisp just like we asked. Overall a very nice breakfast!Service could have been slightly better with coffee (asked twice) and getting us the bill quickly after we said no to extra coffee and asked for to-go box. But still not bad service by no means, just could be a tad more quicker. We will definitely come back here.“
“I really appreciate this location and the people who work here. They do a great job and the food is delicious. Also has a dairy free option for cream cheese. My go to here is a toasted bagel with cream cheese and bacon. The bags of day old bagels are fantastic and reasonably priced as well. Good coffee that doesn't break the bank.Great job all around! ?? Thanks! ?“
