The decor is authentic and honors the South Pacific culture without being kitschy. The Portland location features reclaimed wood from Indonesia. The Washington location boasts a stunning living wall. The kava is prepared traditionally and served in a coconut shell. The owner has spent a lot of time in the South Pacific personally meeting with his growers. And no distractions like tv screens or pool tables like an actual bar. Instead they offer things like board games and a guitar if you are lucky enough to play. There is a real sense of community in both locations with fun activities monthly at each location. I also like that they have chosen not to also serve Kratom out of respect for the ceremonial history of kava. It’s an experience!“
“I've come here several times for their Vietnamese coffee, and they've been great everytime. This time, I got the Caphe Trung, which is their iced coffee with egg yolk cream. If you've never tried it before, it might sound strange, but the combo works well and is quite tasty. I thought the prices were fair for the size of the drink, after all Vietnamese coffee should be sipped on. Overall, I think the coffee here is very good and I was happy with my drink each time.“

The juices and smoothies are fresh and made to order. I previously got the "mean greens" and preferred that over the "best friend" option I got on this trip. There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant, however keep in mind no outdoor seating so pet will need to stay home! The service was friendly however the tipping option starting at 20%, 25% and 30% was a little crazy . I totally understand inflation and how hard it is to be a service worker, however if the employees need that sort of additional compensation I think the business should look inward as to how they are compensating their employees and raise prices accordingly. I'm excited to come back and try their smoothie bowls and special toasts.“

My favorite sweet treat is the Straw-Taro Smoothie with boba. It tastes almost like a fruity vanilla milkshake! My favorite for a simple boba fix is the Black Milk Tea with soy, zero sweetness, and regular boba. I love that one topping is included with no extra charge and that they have a couple of dairy alternatives for the milk teas. Their fruit teas are also awesome in the summer!
