“Hands down one of the best sit down mexican restaurants Ive ever been to. Me and my fiancée both ordered a margarita and they were amazing and fresh tasting. We then proceeded to order food in which I ordered the Plato Aguachile and she ordered a Sope with Carne Asada and some mexican corn. Everything tasted fresh and amazing.“
“Damn good food. I tour all the small Mexican joints and this one is fantastic. Great food and great sauces! They've got a drive-thru, as well. I dined in, but it's something available, if you don't want to. Super clean inside and very fresh. You won't be disappointed!“
“Best tacos I have had in Oregon. El pastor, asada, birria were all fantastic. We ate in the restaurant and the tortillas were nice and firm with a little crisp. Not soggy at all. The meat all had a nice crisp as well. The hot sauce was great as well having several options with different heat levels. 10 out of 10 will eat here anytime I pass through.“
“Went there today and the guy working was so nice.. he literally is a quesadilla genius.. the best thing I have ever had in Salem so far.. definitely recommend going there and trying them if you haven’t already.. p.s the Sith Lord is the best thing ever.. make it a menu item“
“This is the best Mexican food in Salem. The birria is incredible, but I highly recommend the al pastor. The marinade is so flavorful and rich, and the pork is tender and juicy. The quesabirria tacos are wonderfully crisp on the outside. Not only are the prices reasonable, the portions are gigantic. Also, the salsas are AMAZING. I really love the avocado salsa and put it on everything. I drench everything with their red salsa as well. Highly recommend this wonderful spot.“
“This place is the best taco truck in Salem!!They are so nice and friendly. Always making sure we get everything we need for our food. I go there like three times a week for their tacos. The carne asada literally melts in your mouth. Their pickled carrots are amazing!!! They give us so much of them, which I appreciate because I eat them all. Spicy but not over powering!! I definitely recommend them to everyone I know!“
“I was really excited to find a nice restaurant with a bar that I could walk to and LA Vida Catrina does not disappoint. Very good food and amazing drinks. Just make sure you are clear about wanting food/drinks off the happy hour menu, otherwise it can be pricey. It's a great spot for date night or going out with friends, but for someone like me, who might wants to visit once a week, the happy hour menu is key. I'm really looking forward to going back.“
“Wonderful space and fantastic food! Absolutely delicious cheeses, cream all of it tastes like a flash back to the “old neighbourhood “ in East Los Angels…highly recommend the nachos, you can personalise your order, which is great for me as I’m allergic to onions. Had beans on the side and everything was great. Ordering can be a little odd and I’m glad I wasn’t the only person a little confused with the set up. Everything is so eye catching, I didn’t see the big sign that clearly said to order at the other counter! Hahaha so order your food first and they will bring your order to you. We will be back and this is such a good find with authentic Mexican cheeses…“
“Food was top notch! So delicious! Great atmosphere. It's normally VERY busy, but at 8:30 on a Friday night, it was pretty mild. Definitely recommending, and we'll be back again!Kid-friendliness: Brought my 8 year old to dinner. They provided a crossword puzzle with a picture to color and some crayons. It immediately got him busy as he waited for his kids meal. I was impressed with the selection for kids. It was a good size portion for under $10, too. He loved it!“
“We like to sit In a quiet area...thank u Soo very much...my fam been coming here for years....again thank u....Vegetarian options: Soo savory and super delicious..Parking: Close to the doors...so u don't have to walk very far if ur full hahaa lov u guys thank u?????????“
“After reading these reviews, I had to see what the buzz was about. Loved the steak street tacos and the beef burrito was huge. All was very delicious, fresh and homemade beans. Very generous with green verde sauce. You get bang for your buck here! I wish they were closer to my side of town. Very craveable!“
“The food was really good for American Mexican cuisine, the flavor was on point but didn't feel it was authentic, the service was great, they need to update the place think it's the same as it has been since they opened and the bathroom wasn't as clean as id expect but I'd go again for basic good Mexican American food..Parking: They got parking..“
“The food here is incredible!! The nachos are insane!! The drinks are delicious! They’ve got lottery machines for the gamblers in your group too. Marcie is so friendly and welcoming. I do wish they had better seating downstairs, we’ve only ever been in for lunch and it’s not super comfortable unless you’re sitting at the bar with the big comfy stools, but it’s a must try.“
“I visited Suzy’s Taqueria #2 when I was passing through Detroit, Oregon. I ordered a chile relleno burrito (the chile rellenos had been freshly prepared and were the special of the day) and it was delicious! The owner and her son were working and were very friendly people. I would visit again just because their customer service was so good. I wish I had gotten a picture for the sake of the review, but the burrito was quickly consumed. Definitely worth visiting!“
“Literally some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Amazing sauces and quality ingredients. Huge portions. Me and the lady have to go here any time we come through Salem. They have a crunch wrap called the mummia that’s as big as your head.“
“These tamales were delicious! They’re well priced, very fresh, flavorful, and well portion. I just wish they had a little more meat inside of them. I like that their menu is limited; green sauce/red sauce, chicken/pork, regular/spicy, banana leaf/corn leaf. It made ordering very easy.“
“To be honest the place isn’t much to look at but The food is amazing and always a friendly face behind the counter! I have found that the little places that don’t look like much always have the best food though. Not sure why anyone would say the owner or staff are rude. I 100% recommend!“
“I like this restaurant. But I was disappointed with the shrimp chimmichanga. The sauce on top was very much like that powdered cheese sauce mix. I think it brought down the value and presentation ... No flavor to accommodate the ingredients inside the chimi.I will return but do not recommend the shrimp chimi with that cheaply made sauce.“
“We discovered this gem awhile back, and we have been every week since (sometimes twice). These are not your average tacos. The owner is right there taking our order, and making us feel at home. This place will have you telling your friends and google.“
“soooo good! i live nearby and finally came in to try it and i'm so glad i did. they give you such a big portion for the price and everything is freshly made. my mom said it reminds her of her hometown in méxico will definitely come again!“
“This place is exactly what you actually want, guy inside was awesome. They were working in the back when we got there, everything was fresh. Food was good, let my daughters pick our pan dolces. Champurrado was bomb. Great find, worth the drive“
“The BEST homemade tasting Mexican food in Salem. I grew up eating my mom’s (and abuelita’s) authentic homemade Mexican food and Junior’s Taqueria is the closest thing to what I grew up on. Their burritos are so perfect. Everyone who works there is so nice & friendly too. I also wanted to add that I’m vegan and my husband & daughter are vegetarian and Juniors Taqueria has vegan/vegetarian options. They don’t use lard and they let us put together orders that aren’t on their posted menu and are happy to do it for us.“
“Great tasting homemade Mexican food. Literally “grandma” herself in the kitchen cooking, most likely her very own family recipes. Delicious flavor across the board. Everything is fresh and gourmet with generous portions. You can taste the love this kind-hearted woman puts into the food. She is always smiling, and so friendly. I always stop for a burrito when I get the chance. The Birria (shredded beef) I’d say is her top-notch specialty; highly recommend it.Parking: Truck Drivers, park at the Pilot and walk over to get some great food.“
“THE MENUDO WAS SUPER DELICIOUS WITH SOME GREAT AND DELICIOUS HAND MADE TORTILLAS! MY HUSBAND ALSO LOVED THE GOLDEN TRIPA TAQUITOS AND I GOT CARNITAS TACOS TOO. THE TACOS WERE FULL OF A LOT OF MEAT SUPER TASTY ?? it was really hard for me to find a good Menudo for a long time from Portland to Salem and I finally found a spot where it's clean smells good and tastes absolutely delicious! If you love MENUDO YOU WILL LOVE IT. IT COMES WITH HANDMADE TORTILLAS AND THE TACOS HAVE TONS OF MEAT IN THEM SUPER DELICIOUS ?⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“Had a burrito with beef. Was good. They always have good food and they do a good job at it. If you go later sometimes they're mopping the floor and the smell of cleaning is in the air. Not my favorite maybe they could curtail that till after they close. But take out is always an option.“
“The asada pizza is incredible. Never had anything like it before, especially not a bean sauce. Everything about it was delicious. I hope they never change the recipe because it is such a perfect balance of sauce, toppings, crust, and heat. The chipotle ranch sauce and chili oil were so good, too.We had the pizza delivered and enjoyed it with a bottle of gamay noir. Might have to try some of their other pizzas eventually, but the asada pizza will probably be our go-to for a very long time.“
“I have eaten several times at the Salem Chronic Tacos and also used them to cater a gathering of 40+ in my home. I am always impressed with how fresh every item is. The homemade chips and fresh guacamole are in my top all-time favorites and the surf and turf burrito is my new go-to comfort food!Parking: Generally have found on-street parking nearby, but those times I haven’t, the parkade is conveniently close.“
“One of the first taco joints we found on arrival in Salem. We used the drive-through on a Sunday morning and had Chorizo breakfast burritos, and bean and cheese burritos. The drive through line is oddly placed to allow for cars to enter the parking lot. So, don't block the driveway after you place the order, just be patient and let cars get in to park. The food had great taste, the price was reasonable but much more expensive than if in Texas. The beans are tasty and cooked to perfection. The service was quick, staff were friendly. The verde sauce is the best, so ask for more! We did not eat inside so cannot attest to ambiance. Overall a good pick for tasty tacos in the PNW.“
“I was told about this place on a salem eats page. I absolutely love tacos! I regret waiting so long to try Tacos Del Sur. Didn’t have to wait long for food. Nice toasty tortillas and not greasy, great flavored meats! Best Chorizo taco anywhere. Will be back! My husband wants a big burrito!“
“I wish we lived closer to this location!!!! Most all Baja experiences are very good-but this one was absolutely exceptional. The owner was helpful, kind, and attentive. He was sooo diligent in helping me get something gluten free for my celiac son. Stopped in with my whole family; we all had delicious meals and were thoroughly impressed!“
“Great food, great prices, friendly service, informal atmosphere. Seemed like authentic Mexican food, not tex Mex or fusion.Kid-friendliness: Doesn't seem to cater to kids specifically, but the informal atmosphere was perfect for kids that like to talk or fidget, and there were lots of kid-friendly food options.Wheelchair accessibility: One story, easily wheel chair accessible.“
“After living in Mexico for 7 years the bar for authentic food was pretty high. Chula Vista is true Mexican food and the best we've had in the US. Unfortunately we are only passing through Salem otherwise we would be regulars. The margarita was awesome also! Tortillas and salsa is made here and the food is fresh.“
“I can honestly say I'm such a picky eater, but ever since i had her carne asada burrito, Ill never go anywhere where else expecting her flavors, This place is definetly worth the wait.Absolutely Love this place, la guerrita and her son are always so helpful and sweet.“
“Recently I had discovered Don Pedro Mayor and it has became my most frequently visited spot for Mexican food for my family. And I’m sure my family will still frequent this place but I sadly will not anymore. I am a avid Breakfast Burrito person and I rate there’s very very high, between the quality and using actual shredded hash brown instead of just fries like some places ( looking at you aibertos). So typically whenever I frequent that’s what I would order. Until for the first Time I decided to dine in at the establishment. I was told upon ordering my favorite treat from this establishment that they only prepare those during breakfast hours. And was quite confused as I have order this exact item multiple times before at various times of the day and night, Including there new location near State street with a drive through and never had a issue. It’s very sad that if I want this burrito I’m now forced to have to obtain it by online order only. Very disappointing that they’ll make it upon a mobile or delivery order anytime but if I don’t feel like ordering in, I can’t obtain the one item I find value with no equal too at their establishment.“
“Their tacos are so good I dream of having them. Looks like I need to visit Oregon again because these are the best tacos in the state, maybe even better than any place in California and that's saying something. STRONGLY SUGGEST taking your friends, family, work colleagues, anyone you know here because if you don't you're missing out!“
“This is my favorite Mexican food here by far. Tastes like my home in California. Burritos are huge and delicious. I’m a big burrito fan and these are the best I’ve had in Salem hands down. You can taste the quality! Tacos, quesabirria, even basic rice and beans are great. The guac has a kick to it too which I really like. And their horchata is so yummy! They’re always friendly when we go in.Im happy they’re here and I’m looking forward to trying more of their menu :)“
