“We love Spring House. The food, drinks and service are consistently top notch. Last night was a step backwards. We were greeted at the table by our server with bread and butter and asking if we wanted more than water to drink. In general the drinks took a while and so did the soup. We waited quite a while for someone to take the empty soup bowls and ask if we wanted a water refill or another drink. The soup bowls were taken when the entrees were served. There was someone nearby who was setting the table next to us but she was only interested a table that was still empty when we left. We remain fans of the restaurant and will be back but clearly not a good moment.“

My mother in her 70s like it, and my family visiting from abroad. :) They hired someone new to make the hoagie, still good but prefer the friendly young lady who works there continuing to make them.Happy New Year to them!“

“Always best service forgot the name of our bartender who's always there working all day and night ! She's always there pleasant and professional. Hope they compensate her well.Bar gets fairly crowded especially with men. My coworker and I who have frequented enough usually sit towards the entrance at the bar, seats usually taken.Food served hot and fresh, especially like the appetizers; wings, flatbread, fries....and beers always good. Chicken tender best I ever had, crispy outside and tender inside perfectly cooked!Will probably go there again next week ? or next month.“
“My wife and I moved from the area a few years ago and our recent trip back to F&M really made me miss it. Gregg (if you're visiting just ask him where to go...he might know everyone) and Mel couldn't have been better (she knew how to pour a snyt!!) and what seemed like an entire bar of friends almost convinced us to move back. “Great Happy Hour! Amazing drink selection and apps. Great quality for the price. We go there a lot for HH then catch a movie at Ambler Theater across the street. Wish they would change the hours to 4:30-6:30 for their HH though. Movies are usually at 7 and hanging there for an hr before film starts is a bit of a wait.“

“Once again, another wonderful meal! I ordered the Brussels sprout salad which I had not tried before. Glad I did! Lovely mix of crunchy sprouts, cranberries, walnuts, apple& Gorgonzola with dressing that complimented all of the flavors. Also had the salmon appetizer which is reliably excellent. Main courses of doradd & short rib delicious. I loved the chocolate cake & the “taste” of crème brûlée & ice cream are a great way to try several desserts. Veronica was lovely & helpful. “Went last week and had an amazing experience especially the assistance we received from our waitress and the pastry chef. I had the one of the special entrees of the day- duck breast and since I’m not drinking, their lavender lemonade was both cute and tasty. A little tart, but very lemonadey. My husband got a ton a stuff that I don’t remember, but he enjoyed every drink, appetizer ( it was a tuna bonbon special) and entree. I’ve driven past this place for years, so it was great to finally pop in. Added bonus, located in northwest Philly which is such an amazing part of the city.“

The sun was streaming in and there was no window shade. Not only were we warm, we ate the whole meal with the sun in our eyes! “Another wonderful dining experience at the Valley Green Inn. This time my party of four came for Sunday brunch. We were happily surprised with a complementary basket of warm mini muffins. Which went very well with our glasses of very reasonably priced and good dry white. Two of us had the crabcake sandwich with fries which was delicious. my other two dining companions had salads – one a beautiful quinoa, and the other a large salad with chicken, both of which they enjoyed. Now, the service! We were fortunate to get Tristan again as our server. He was a delight as usual with attentive and upbeat service. As I said, a wonderful dining experience – good food, good service, and the beautiful ambience of the Wissahickon . What could be better. “

I had some issues with the GrubHub delivery and the restaurant called me to make sure everything was okay once they saw the exact same order was placed by me (Delivery man was confused, I contacted Grubhub and Grubhub set up another order on my behalf on their dime). The staff was friendly and took care of me. The food is always great and it hits the spot when I'm craving it. Totally worth it! And highly recommended. As a note: I tried to leave a review on Grubhub but they made it next to impossible to do so.“

It looks like the building used to be an old American dinner that’s a little beat up but once you enter you will be greeted by a clean restaurant with clothed tables and chairs. However you can still see some of the old diner inside so it conflicts with the Korean accents. Obviously not a deal breaker but I hope they invest for a modern remodel.“

We had the specials, which were amazing ( lobster bisque—George Perrier's recipe, which I had years ago at Le Bec Fin-the duck, and homemade gnocchi). Delicious. “McMenimin's is a terrific, very popular neighborhood bar/restaurant. It can be noisy, but if you sit in the back room, the noise is not too bad. We were there on a weeknight (Tuesday), and yet every table was filled by 7 o'clock. The food is better than one would expect for this kind of place. The fish and chips, chef's salad with portobello mushrooms and plant-based "cheeseburger" were all excellent. And portions were huge. The server was very pleasant. The reasons why this is 4 stars and not 5: No cocktail list at all and just a few not-so-great wines by the glass. And the entrees were served way before we were finished with the appetizers. They must have thought we had to catch a train. If you don't mind being rushed like crazy, then you might give McMenamin's 5 stars.“

“As a cheesesteak enthusiast, I was anxious to try the "Jawn" advertised as a pound of prime ribeye on a freshly kneaded roll with caramelized onions and Cooper Sharp. The roll was fresh and warm, and yeasty, but more like pizza crust than the high end Italian rolls one finds at the best cheesesteak joints. Onions were perfect. Cheese was kind of skimpy. The beef was high quality and free of gristle..but a POUND? Maybe 8oz. MAX before cooking. I've eaten several pound steaks, and this ain't one. Fries were very high quality frozen, served piping hot in a cute mini fry-basket. Wife's wings were crispy and didn't get soggy in the plentiful hot sauce. Drinks are very reasonable and staff attentive and friendly. I guess the "Jawn" is a kind of novelty, and the price may reflect the beef grade as opposed to weight. Adorable atmosphere. I'll return, but try the Italian dishes where I suspect they excel.“

That quiche is like none I have ever tasted, flaky crust and the filling reminded me of soufflé but much taster. I also brought 2 cups cakes carrot and coconut to go. I’m sure they are just as good.
