“We had a tour last week with our beer guide Kevin. He was extremely knowledgeable about all beers and the history of the area, very friendly and just really enjoyable as a tour guide. We went to Old Thunder in Blawnox, Strange Roots in Millvale and Allegheny City on the North Side - each with its own ambiance and tasty brews. We'd be happy to go on another tour with friends sometime!“
“I've always been a fan of Grist House brewing. They have some good barrel aged stouts when they put them out. Also the IPA's are pretty solid. They seem to have a ton of sours as well which people love. I like them, but they don't like me (sours that is). Great outdoor space. I however at times get annoyed with some of the enormous dogs people bring. I have no issue with dogs, let me say that, but people sometimes bring massive dogs and are clueless to the fact that they are blocking doorways and things. It's also a Penn State brewery which is cool. They have firefest every year and that is a great time. Food trucks daily. Parking sucks, all street parking.“
“Great brewery! Friendly staff! The beers here are pretty good and they usually have a rotation of food trucks! They also do trivia every week as well. This is a great place for family, friends, coworkers, etc! If you're in the Pittsburgh area, I do recommend checking it out!“
“Great food at fair prices. Always a line (because the word is out) and always worth the wait. Portions are above average and the flavors are by no means generic. Tom, the owner, is always at the helm of this traveling ship and directly engaged in food preparation assuring that his high standards are met with each order. This truck has a following and a page online to let everyone know where it'll be...and folks will seek them out for that fix when only a great gyro will do.Keep up the good work!“
“We’ve frequented Truss since they’ve opened. Everything on the menu is delicious and love that it changes a bit through the seasons. The staff and owner are literally the nicest people. Please bring back that beet hummus this spring/summer!“
“This is one of my favorite breweries in the Pittsburgh area. The owner Mark is so nice, down to earth and hospitable. I’m a hippie who loves the dead ☠️ and dogs, being near water, live music, good beer, tacos and a hot crackling fire. This place is a GEM. I love everything about it.“
“Great restaurant near the stadium, downtown Pittsburgh and bars and restaurants. Great services, small selection food, bar, and a myriad of beer on tap.I had the Caesar Salad with salmon, and it was phenomonal. Their croutons are made their and they really heightened the dish. Off street, paid parking and close the the Science Center as well. Nice place for family and kids.“

“Very cold beer. IPA is wonderful. Nice selection of bottled seltzers and spiked tea for non-beer drinkers. Lots of sitting area reminiscent of an old schoolhouse cafeteria. Family board games available to use. Food trucks rotate on daily basis. Good local hang out place. Will come back to try other beer offerings! Service is via QR code and ordering is at the counter. Restrooms are nice and clean.“

“Great spot. The food is better than you'd expect. The beers are great. Local craft sodas if you don't drink. Located a few blocks away from the busy part of Butler, so it's usually accessible and not filled with the suburban crowds that frequent the Abbey and such.“

“A fun and eclectic brewery in Verona. Inner Groove's ~thing~ is having a great collection of records which are always spinning. It added a nice ambiance while sitting at the bar and whatever's playing is a good conversation starter with the bartenders who are really friendly and helpful. I felt the tap list is super IPA heavy, which I'm not as into anymore personally. But if you are, you'll love it! I tried a blonde ale and the rainbow sherbet sour (which legit tasted like melted rainbow sherbet). They were both good. I look forward to checking out this space again in the summer. It's really close to the river so I'm sure it's even better when you can spend time outside.“

“Most brewery reviews are pretty similar but here is another example of cool place, cool people and killer brews. The "Under the Radar" black IPA is one of the best I've had of its style. Also the AnimalHousePgh offered amazing food options.“
“Living 30 minutes from the city, surrounded by breweries, all within the 30 minute or less drive, it's tough to give anyone a 5 star rating, except the craft breweries that have survived for over 10 years. But I've found in the few times that I've been to LoLev, the service, vibe and of course the beers, are worth the trip. So LoLev is always on my list of stops, in their section of the city.“
“Support your local brewer and get down to Insurrection Brewing in Heidelberg - right next to the police station ?. It's not a particularly large venue, nor a warm and cozy place, but they're definitely churning out some decent brews here. The barrel aged stout and west coast IPA were really very good. They've got a 3.91 (of 5) average rating on Untappd, and that's pretty good ?“
“Great pop-up experience. The service staff was very friendly and funny to chat with, and the cheesesteak-burger-thing that my partner and I split was really enjoyable. I got the new Zealand hazy to drink and was very satisfied with the pairing, and the view of the river, while not spectacular, was definitely pleasing and we enjoyed our post-dinner walk which I will lump in with the overall experience.“
“Easily one of the top breweries in the area. Not only are their beers unique and tasty, but they generally have something that will please everyone.Some of the best beers I've had have come from Hitchhiker and while their cans are good in a pinch, their on tap beers are well worth the trip.My only knock is they need to expand somewhere else with more seating and do a food menu of their own rather than relying on food trucks which can be hit or miss (can't remove a star for that since it's clear this is only a taproom) .The staff is great and attentive and let you try something so you don't get a glass of something you will hate.Getting seating here sometimes can be problematic in the winter months; but their stuff is top shelf and worth it.One of my top 5 breweries in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.“

“I have never been here for the beer, but I love it as a coffee shop. It's always quiet, beautiful, lots of plants, great service, and good coffee from people who care about what they're doing. The fireplace is a particularly nice touch with the cold weather.I've been a number of times and will keep going!“

“They took care of my wife and myself with service and fantastic drinks. They also took care of an intoxicated Steelers fan, giving him water and food, while calling him a cab. This staff was fantastic with how casual they were with the situation. I'd come and give my business to this small brewery everytime I visit the Pittsburgh area.“

“I love coming here. The blood orange cider is my favorite. But I also haven't had one I didn't like!We did trivia night. The only thing I have a complaint about is the acoustics. Even though the trivia woman had a microphone, I had a really hard time hearing her through the small talk of all the different groups. It felt like all the voices were echoing a lot around the space.“

“Went for a girl’s night out, had a few flights and sandwiches. Food was really good and beer was fantastic. My fav is Those Winter Sundays. Reminds me of Andes Candies, very smooth. Friendly bar tenders. All around good experience.. will go again soon!“
“Absolutely loved this place. The food was great and the outdoor area is beautiful. I ordered pierogis, tofu bites, Greek salad, and pretzel bites. The tofu bites were crispy and flavorful. The pierogis were almost as good as my grandma’s. I would totally go back here again when in town. There’s even a nice walking trail nearby if you want to make a full afternoon of activities.“
“This is the first time trying Recon. I saw they did fish during lent so we gave it a try tonight. It was delicious!! The breading was very tasty and we were very happy with everything (and the lady who took our order over the phone was super friendly and nice!). Will be ordering again as I see they have more than just fish there!!“

“East End's pizzas are great and their food options punch above their weight for breweries.Their beers are serviceable and I've never had a bad beer here...though I've never had a great beer either. I do wish they had some more exciting options in the way of sours, fruits, stouts, etc like Hitchhiker up the road does.Service is good and attentive. I've been to this location twice and definitely plan on going back.Southern area of Pittsburgh needs more breweries so I'm thankfully they opened up a location I can get to within 10-15 min from my place.“

“This brewery in the Rocks marked the 102nd brewery that I've visited. Marking that I've officially visited every microbrewery in the Pittsburgh region and let me tell you there is a lot. More are on the way, and I'll need to visit the new ones.Sadly I didn't know until this year that this place existed. How did I not know. One thing is that I love Hazy IPA's or Pale Ale's, they are my go to drink. What I do not like is a sour. However I tried a couple of their sours and damn are they the best that I've ever tasted.This place is unique it's in part of an old theater. They still have comedy nights here on the weekends it appears. The place looks a little scary, but it's perfectly fine area from what I've gathered.I can't wait to come back here again. Great place.“
